View 3 Replies View RelatedNoticed since the Lollipop update that if you spend some time in an app and then return to the home screen, it needs a second or two to redraw everything? It's like the phone isn't keeping the home screen in its memory.
The same for actual apps, too. Every single time I return to Chrome, it needs to reload the page. Or if I open, say Gmail, it's not as quick to open and needs an extra second or two to load up.
I was using Nova Launcher and switch to the stock Google Now launcher thinking it would solve the problem, but no dice.
I just got my S5 today, upgraded from my three and half year old S2 Skyrocket, However, it seems to have some weird default "unlock effect" where these stupid bubbles of colors appear wherever you touch or swipe on the lockscreen. I've searched around for how to get rid of it, but everything I've found says go to the Lock Screen settings menu and change the "unlock effect." But the lock screen settings menu on my phone doesn't have that option. I tried searching in the settings for "unlock effect" and it comes up with a result, but when I click it, it just takes me to the lock screen settings--which as I said has no option for unlock effects.Did they remove the ability to change/remove the lockscreen effect in 5.0 or am I just completely missing something?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI got the Lollipop update last night and my only complaint - thus far - is that *&$^%&% Flipboard has reappeared and I can't delete it,. The icon is on my Apps tray and if I grab it like I'd do with anything else there's no trashcan icon.
View 5 Replies View RelatedBefore you ask, I have gone to settings, lockscreen, additional information and it is set to "off" along with the weather being off. I was able to get it off once but when I did a restart, it showed back up and will not go away. It makes my clock on the locks creek small even though I have it selected to be large and I can't stand it overall. The only thing I want on my locks creek is the time. Also, I hate that it now says "verizon wireless" where the notifications were on the lockscreen.

View 2 Replies View RelatedLast night I did the lollipop update for my Samsung s5 using Samsung Kies and all went fine until it booted up. The phone just kept rebooting itself after being on the lock screen for a few seconds. I booted it into recovery mode and factory resetting and wiping the cache but after the setup screens it just keeps restarting again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I just got the Lollipop update this morning and I setup a pattern lock instead of my fingerprint, was working just fine. I was doing some things around the house with using Google Music All Access to listen to music, went to switch music and I cannot get into my phone, doesn't even register that I'm trying to put in a pattern.
This is not good, can't even get in my phone to call anyone. Nothing is recognizing my touch.
Occasionally when I attempt to make a phone call from either a contact, missed call, or the keypad the screen will flash like its attempting to call but it just goes straight back to whatever screen I had up. It doesn't even say call ended or call lost. Sometimes I have to click call 3-4 times before it goes through.I just cleared my cache and will see if it continues?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got this phone as a gift, an SM-G920F. And it already has SuperSU in it when I got it. Which means it's already rooted if I'm not mistaken. I'm liking the phone and hoping to know more about it.
Anyway I discovered that you can only change the media volume with the rockers when a video or music is playing. And it defaults to ringtone otherwise. Same thing happens when the media pauses in the middle of playback. But I never change my ringtone volume. It's either on, off, or vibrate.
So I browsed the web for fixes. And found this app called Rocker Locker. I tried it but it was a huge battery drain, so it wasn't a permanent fix. I also found out that this behavior was changed in Marshmallow. Having the rockers change media volume by default.
Tried to check for OTA updates. But it said something about phone being modified. Which was lucky, because I've also read not to take OTA updates while rooted.
Long story short. How do I update from Lollipop to Marshmallow in a rooted phone?
I know it is possible to change the default screen which is displayed when you press the Home Button on the Samsung Galaxy S5, because I did it accidently. But it happened while I was trying to get the ringing phone out of my pocket. I do not know how to change it back. Suggestions for other types of phones have not worked

View 2 Replies View RelatedIt does it intermittently, and I suspect it's because the whole phone is lagging - too many little background things running I suppose.
Assuming it's the lag problem (making a single press lag so long it seems like a long press), what are some strategies for clearing out less necessary tasks the phone is doing?
How do you stop the request to update to Lollipop on phone and make it go away?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm an unhappy victim of the great Lollipop Update. Now without warning the Recent Apps button and the Home button just stop responding periodically. Like I'll be in a phone call and want to take a picture or look something up and pressing Home or Recent Apps does nothing. If I restart the phone then they work as expected even when in a call. Eventually though, they just stop working.
I've been reading about others having bad luck with Lollipop. So I thought I'd just go back to 4.4.4 because everything worked then. So far, I've downloaded Kies3 and done a complete backup. I decided to try a factory reset to see if that would make Lollipop behave. Nope. Within 20 minutes the buttons stopped again. It's not always in calls, it's just that I can't restart the phone when in a call to make it work and that is not usable.
So, before I go regrade back to 4.4.4 - why the buttons just quit every so often and maybe how to fix it?
I just downloaded my android system update and I do not like the new color scheme. It hurts my eyes. The negative does not make it any better. How can I change this?
View 2 Replies View Relatedafter installing the Android 5.1.1 update on my Galaxy S6 edge almost all home screen icons have disappeared, even the bottom ones like phone, contacts and messages. The apps icons in the app drawer have also completely disappeared. The apps are still there and working, but I can only access them when I get a new notification.I have tried rebooting several times, and clearing the Touchwiz launcher data, but nothing changes.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHave a Samsung S6, i use the same wallpaper for both my home screen and lock screen but everytime i change the wallpaper for both, the lock screen has the full image and the home screen is always slightly smaller by about 4% or 8%.
View 7 Replies View RelatedA new problem has developed with my phone. It's hard to describe but it looks as if there is fluid under the screen (I don't have a screen protector btw). You can push the bubble of fluid (if that's what it is) around with your finger and see it move under the screen. Most unsettling. I'm at a complete loss to know what to do. MY PHONE AT NO TIME HAS GOT WET OR EVEN SPLASHED - I'VE KEPT IT COMPLETELY DRY. I HAVEN'T EVEN HANDLED IT WITH WET HANDS.
The problem is only visible on the home screen and it's not affecting the functionality of the phone in any way. However, it's a bad problem because now I've lost all security on my phone - it doesn't ask for a fingerprint swipe any more so anyone can immediately gain access to my phone merely by touching the bubble.
Interestingly, the problem disappears completely if I run the Samsung Galaxy S6 4G in Safe Mode.
I've had my LG G3 6 months now, and overall I like it - but I *loathe* the swipe to answer calls function! 9 times out of 10 it doesn't work and so I keep missing calls whilst furiously swiping & jabbing my finger over the screen. Is there any way I can change it to something more simple, like pressing the home key? I've looked through all of the settings and googled, but can't seem to find a way around it.
My LG is running with Lollipop v 5.0.2
Just discovered my home screen is blank, so I thought I had accidentally changed/moved it when I turned on "Easy Mode" to check that out. Switched back to "Standard Mode", but found my home screen gone, with a blank page in it's place. I found some directions on how to move pages around, making one a home screen. I selected the page I wanted as home screen and moved it to the page where the white house icon is highlighted. I was done but noticed nothing had changed. Home page still blank, so I did it again. I find that whenever I try creating my home screen page by moving it to the highlighted white house icon, the white house icon shifts to the left, remaining blank.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy moto x 2014 with Lollipop is constantly redrawing the home screen and closes background apps very quickly. I tried to use runtastic yesterday and it kept closing when ever I put it to the background. I check the ram and usually have 600mb free. Is there a way to get it to use all that ram?
