This problem has just started today. I left my phone to charge after some heavy usage at about 25%. A few hours later and I unplug my phone to see it at 100%, but then suddenly it drops down to 98%.
View 12 RepliesWhen I plug this unit into any charger (wall or USB), the charging icon shows up (battery with th lightning bolt) shows up and the clock (screen saver) also gets activated as normal, but after 10-15 seconds the chrging indicator goes and it shows as if the unit is not charging.But I know that the handset is getting charged as I can use it easily for a day long as per the normal battery life.So effectively the unit always shows an empty battery icon (Red outlined hollow battery icon always) and the LED always blinks amber. But th ephone works normal except than this.
Also if I do a battery pull out and reinsert it, after boot up the battery shows 100% but the icon and battery level indicators drop back to 1% and empty battery icon within 15-20 mins with the phone continuing it's normal opeartion ith the empty battery icon (down to 1%)This is causing a lot of trouble as I never know what is the actual battery level and poses problem when I do not charge and the battery is actually low The unit is out of warranty and BB guys have refused to repair. I'm using the default theme and have not changes the theme so I can rule out the issues of 3rd party theme icons.
When I unlugged the charger sometimes the led shows green or red still. I have to restart to get rid of it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI charged it for 15 mins, unplugged it, set an alarm, and 5-7 minutes later the screen was black and won't turn back on. The case/phone is still hot, and it still won't turn on after 2 hours. It hasn't cooled at all either, and my AC is blaring in this house.Â
When can I expect it to turn back on? That is, if it's even off at all.... Is there a reset button-pattern I can push to expedite the process? Is there anything I can do?
Should I just make an appointment for the Genius Bar?

My fast charger isn't working, it says the same amount of time left as a normal charger. When it's plugged in though, it still says Fast Charging in my notifications. I've tried all the troubleshooting such as making sure it's plugged in fully, I swapped and got a replacement (problem still happens), etc. I know this is brought up a lot but I can't find any people who have had this problem with similar characteristics

What exactly happens when the phone says "battery full, unplug charger to save power" and the white charging indicator goes off? I've done what the battery sticky thread has said to do but still no improvement. Screen is on 25% most of the time, this is with just randomly checking stuff at times no games or anything like that.

I tried switching to a regular charger but no difference. I also downloaded a battery optimizer that says I have hours left but it's still draining plus even with the power saving mode and ultra power saving mode it still drains even with closing all apps and every tip out there!

Today i did a test. I enabled wifi location bluetooth fullscreen brightness and played game in normal mode .
It lasted only 2 Hours and 30 min..
I recently bought a GS6 and I love everything about the phone....except the battery! This is literally a deciding factor for me vs the iPhone 6.
I know it has a quad HD screen but my battery drains WHEN THE SCREEN IS OFF. My provider (T-Mobile) says one reason could be that I used all my data (T-Mobile just slows down your speeds). This can also mean it's constantly searching for a better signal. Sometimes I don't get reception indoors but usually my reception is good.
Now, I would understand if my battery was dropping IF I had the screen on, but it's not. It's dropping a percent every 2-3 minutes.
My data plan reloads in two days so I can see if it gets better but if not, I will be switching to an iPhone.

In fact the reason why I upgraded to ICS is to see if it would fix it. Most of the articles I have read on the net are about people who have problems after the upgrade, which is why I am left puzzled. Often I leave my phone unplugged during the night and it has almost completely drained by the morning. here is some more information:
- In the battery stats my Android OS percentage is always high (60% +)
- I am always careful with trying to preserve battery life, for example setting the backlight to minimum brightness and closing applications which are running in the background
- I have gone for months where the battery has been fine, but cant seem to spot a trend
My Samsung Galaxy S2 has suddenly started draining it's battery quick My S2 is sim free and is running Android 2.3.4 it's not rooted it's just standard I checked on battery usage and it says Andriod OS 62% And my battery is on 82% I only fully charged the battery around 2 hrs ago I haven't used it in that time either And the screen sometimes freezes now so I have to do a battery pull It sometimes reboots on it's own too this has only happened today?

I have had no problems at all with the phone at all however yesterday it got hot at the top near the camera lens and the battery died in 2 hours. I turned it off and on and it seemed ok but then did it again. I removed all apps and everything else that was using the cpu as the news and weather app was displaying loading continually I thought that might have something to do with it. It seemed ok for a while and then did it again. I noticed that although there were 3 grey bars of network signal there was no G/3G/H or in/out arrows displayed next to the bars. Tried a manual network search and it seemed ok but then the same thing happened... overheated and battery died fast again. Turned it off and on again...tried to make a call...no connection. I know I do not get a good signal at home but can usually move around and get one but couldn't even after a reboot. Put sim in another phone and it connected ok.

I was on the phone for about 11/2 minutes. After I got off I looked at my battery and it was down 1/2 a brick. I've tried removing the battery for awhile, but it doesn't seem to help. I talk on it a lot through the day so I can understand it needing charged at night, but 1 minute off the charger and it's already losing power? I don't use the internet that much, but I do play games. The phone is about a month old. Any advice?

The phone battery indicator works fine till 18% to 100%. The battery level drops to 18% fine, but after that battery level drops suddenly to 1% & moment later phone shut down.
I found on net that its becuase of battery miscalibration. There are solution to reset calibrations for rooted phones, but as my phone is not rooted is there any way to reset battery calibration ?
I bought a Z5C for my wife, but I am withholding it fo test purposes because I own a Z3c... As per title, if I use it while charging the battery's charge drops or, at best, doesn't improve.
I had already:
-Tried more usb cables, including those one which came along our phones.
-Tried more chargers: my usual z3c charger, my MacBook Pro, my iPad's charger, a no-name wall charger rated for 1Ampere;
-Repaired with bridge for Mac;
-Restored to factory defaults, effect of which turned out to be more or less like "Repair" procedure;Â
I don't' have strange applications running, I don't play games, mail synchronization is manual. It's like my phones are on perpetual holidays.

More over: I used it just to surf the web and take a dozen of shot with the camera set at 8MP, so nothing really challenging. The phones back heats but not really that much.

It has did this twice in the last week. I have not run it til it shuts off so I don't know how long it would last from 20% to being out of juice.

The phone's slightly more than a month old and using the latest 11.x.x firmware. Did a bit of googling, and found several suggestions on how to save battery (turn off everything 'smart' on ur phone). That's not the point anyways. I need to find out why the battery level drops suddenly (like what happens when ur battery's dying out), and *not* why the battery lasts X hrs. I'm not sure about this, but I think this mostly happens when the battery level is slightly below max, and I use any app that needs the GPS functionality. But then, there doesn't seem to be any problem with the GPS hardware in the phone, 'coz it usually gets a GPS lock in less than a minute (mostly within seconds). Could it be related to the algo used to show the battery level, or is it that its my battery that's faulty? Any others out there having the same problem?

The prblem of the phone is, the battery level drops to 1% suddenly from 20%. And it says battey is 1% and it'll shut down. I didn't do anything, no rooting nothing. it is same as new. It happened about 4 times during this last week.
all 4 times it dropped from 20% or 17% or something to 1%. I'm really scared about that and somebody please help me what can i do regarding that. and when i connect it to the charger following that.
I purchased brand new Xperia Active before a week and it started showing battery related problem since then. When my phone shows battery level of 15%, it suddenly drops down to 1%, followed by phone shutting down. I have not rooted my phone. It is running on Gingerbread 2.3.4 and build 4.0.2.A.0.62.
