Having this problem with my Galaxy S6. Whenever I start a video on here, a song on Soundcloud, or a song in the music app, it'll start but pause a split second afterward. I can hit the play button as many times as I want but it'll only inch forward about 1/4 of a second at a time...
View 1 Repliesi received this phone from my dad who got a newer version. everything was working fine when he had it, but i took it i went through "security options" and pressed a "security erase" everything he had was reset in order for me to be able to configure my email accounts, etc.but now i can't play any music or videos, not from Internet or from the media player on the phone, i mean it doesn't even play the song that comes for default! an error saying "unable to play content" keeps coming up, and i have already taken out the battery and put it back on three times.

I have tried several different files and several different media players and I have the same problem with all of them.

Everything works OK. But in my contacts, they are sorted by first name instead of last name (which is more useful).
I can get to the settings menu for contacts (Contacts app, three-dots-menu, Settings), but I only have options for import/export and swipe to dial. NO SORT.

I was able to change the settings in the contacts app to sort all my contacts by last name. Unfortunately, this setting isn't applied to other apps.
Is it possible to change the sort order for other apps (google messenger, whatsapp, ...) too?
I was able to do this in the Galaxy S4, but now it's gone. Since I did a restore of my previous phone's backup, all apps installed in a random order - and that's how my app list is now sorted.
How can I sort that alphabetically? I can live with manual sort (I've seen people speaking of the "A-Z" button in the app drawer, but I don't have it), automatic would be better.

View 10 Replies View RelatedWith the recent purchase of my S6 edge I'm new to android and have some quick questions.
First, is there any way to sort the app drawer alphabetically? When I click on edit the only option I get is to disable or uninstall apps.
Secondly, I recently read a tip somewhere that said to reboot into safe mode and then restart to normal. This would improve battery life. Not sure if this is the cause but I did see an improvement after that. Anyway, I also noticed that apps in the app drawer are now scattered across 6 screens with some containing only 1 or 2 icons.
I can't seem to sort my apps that I have downloaded to "Alphabetical order" in my S6. I just cannot find this feature. Now it has just the "Edit" function on the top right hand corner. On S5 & Note Edge It has a 3 dot icon on the top right hand corner & if you press that it will show all the functions like "Sort by."
View 17 Replies View RelatedOh no. I have no idea what's happened but my wallpaper and all my widgets and apps have disappeared on my phone. Suddenly they have disappeared. I am getting notifications and have set up a wallpaper again, but all the icons have either diappeared or changed and nothing is as it should be. How in earth do I get it back? And how can I get back the missing icons (eg the apps icon has gone)?

The Notifyer seems to be doing the trick with a fairly simple set up. Am just using the free version which doesn't have any ads but the payable version allows even greater customization like the icon etc.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy BB used to be able to play the .wav files that I received by email from my office phone system. I just ran the BB updates it wanted to and now when I attempt to play a .wav file, media player opens but then says - an error has occurred attempting to play media. The media being played is of an unsupported format.
I found posts saying I needed to install the BB attachment service but I can't get the option to show in Desktop Manager even following the instructions to download and run the OS on the PC.
Sony Creative Software's "Media Go" program is able to "see" my Xperia PLAY (as is my operating system), but not Sony Ericsson's PC Companion... Furthermore, other Sony Ericsson handsets work fine with Media Go.In an effort to resolve this, I have tried both of the Xperia PLAY's connectivity modes (Media Transfer Protocol and Mass Storage Mode), un-installed the drivers and PC Companion, re-installing PC Companion and the drivers... View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Blackberry Curve 9330 (I think) that's about 3 weeks old. I downloaded two ringtones from Verizon and they played fine until yesterday. With no changes it now says "Invalid ringtone". When I attempt to play thru the music icon I get "An error has occurred attempting to play media." However, thru various maneuverings I can get the two songs to play but there's no way to restore them to ringtones. I've tried rebooting several times but nothing. I've searched just about every blog on this website and haven't found an answer. Interestingly, I can play UTube and just about any other media. Also, when I click "Options" in any app for info the only screen I get is to change wallpaper. Clicking "Options" from the home screen gives me the option to change ringtones, display, networks and connections, etc. but trying to change the ringtones results in the "Invalid ringtone" warning. I'm starting to hate this Blackberry!

It will not charge at all and comes up with a message this device/charger is not supported or words to that effect, I've tried three different cars to no success,and different usb chargers including the blackberry one supplied to no avail. I have tried the wifes i phone in my car and that charges fine via usb and plays music... Any ideas ? ps the bold will charge via usb off my laptop or pc ???

I have installed Mediabox and the extended support CODECs for the N900. However, it will still not play most of my videos off my streaming media server (the programs can see the files ok).
When I try to play them, I have sound, and sometimes I can see a ghost image frozen on the screen, but no video. They can play some low resolution ones 320x240.
The videos I am trying to play that wont are :
512 x 384, bitrate 1154 kbps, 23 frames/second Divx avi
576 x 432, bitrate 1057 Kbs, 23 Frames/second Divx avi
640 x 480, bitrate 1066 kbs, 23 frames/second Divx avi
624 x 352, bitrate 1109 kbs, 23 frames/second Xvid avi
any ideas why these are not supported or where i could get CODECs that will support them, they play fine on windows media player and quicktime and on my Ps3 ?
