I decided to root and installed a custom recovery on my G920l.
The root went fine and I installed TWRP but once I tried to reboot into the recovery my phone has frozen and doesn't want to turn off.
I don't get what I did wrong and how to fix it or at least how to turn the phone off?
I rooted my s6 with pingpong root and i want to flash twrp recovery. After flashing twrp.img with flashfy app,my ph stuck in logo. I tried some soft reset and other home+volume buttons+POWEKEY . However my phone still stuck in logo.

Tried root first and then flash twrp that didn't work, tried twrp first then tried to boot to recovery to root from twrp and still no go. teamwin says it compaitible with SM-G920i version tried TWRP 2.8.6.0 and TWRP 2.8.6.2 still no go.

i did backup the build.prop (in the download folder in sdcard) but after i rebooted the device (and followed the guide that i linked) it got stuck in the Samsung logo, I don't have a custom recovery and i dont want to trigger KNOX on. My android version is 5.0.2 ....
1. I have knox tripped
2. When i flash stock with smart switch i get stuck on samsung boot logo
3. Same thing with odin....stuck on samsung boot logo
4. To get the phone working and boot to desktop i flash custom kernel like unikernel
5. The problem is i want to use stock kernel i want to flash with smart switch and i want to get updates from samsung like i was before because when i use unikernel and i try to updates phone said your rom is modified...
Is there any chance to bypass samsung logo without flashing custom kernel...

I cant get to recovery or get the device up and running, all i can do is to get in odin mode/download mode.
i have downloaded official 5.1.1 firmware, i have tried using different versions of odin but everytime its the same, after the "nand write start" it just fails, every single time. i have tried to use the hidden.img only from the firmware but it ends up just booting the samsung logo over and over again. also i have tried different usb ports..

I follow the steps and it shows it sent the recovery image and when reboot, it optimizes the apps as well ,however when i go to recovery, i get android dead icons with X.
I have galaxy s6 G920F and I can't return to stock ROM, if I flash via Odin android 5.1.1, it says successful then stops on boot screen. I also did factory rest after installing also cleared cache but nothing happens. I tried France stock ROM 5.1.1 XEF I guess also UK BTE but I got same results.. but I can install custom ROM and it works fine but I need to return my phone but can't until it's on stock ROM.
It also says dm-verity verification failed. I just need to boot with stock ROM other error or warning messages don't matter..
If bootloader is locked, turned off the USB debugging, and device is bricked, it's stopped at logo. What can I do ?!

I did all and phone stucked on installing applications or something like that first update android 40/40 and after that stucked i resterted went to recovery mode and try wipe then i got error samsung galaxy s6 failed to mount preload . Can this be sorted anyway plus knox is showing 0x1 .
View 10 Replies View RelatedI wanted to install a custom Rom on my Nexus 5 running Android 6.0 so I downloaded TWRP latest and unlocked the Bootloader and installed TWRP.
Now the OS doesn't bootup anymore and the TWRP starts but gets rebooted all the time.
Tried to install an older TWRP version 2.8.70 and sideloaded and installed Pure Nexus Rom but this doesn't fix the problem.
Wiping anything from TWRP gives error messages...

Always had a problem of phone shutting off and entering qhdbootloader 9008 (however it goes) and I just run the boarddiag tool but this time its not that far. Well whenever it does that I also have to reflash system but now when I try to flash a rom, it gets to the installing system part in twrp and hangs, then reboots at the google logo until I enter recovery again. At first it was all good, but then last week, I started noticing the battery started draining quicker than normal. Usually, I can get around 10 hours of use, but this went down at first to 8 hours, then rapidly plummeting to 6 then 4 hours. The shop where I got the phone from advised that it could be software corruption or faulty battery, and they were happy to send the phone off to Samsung to get it checked out, but I decided to run a few tests myself. I bought myself a genuine Samsung high capacity battery (I need it anyway), and installed it. I noticed that the battery drain was still happening, so it was not faulty battery. Yesterday it was the letter 'e...' Not sure how I got it, may have been a dodgy 3rd party app. I can see it flash by when I am loading a page, or when I am in my gallery or even while in camera mode. I have attached photos of it below, does anyone know what is causing this? I would like to remove it
I have tried changing wallpapers, and looking through my files for the letter icons with no luck. AVG isn't picking up anything either.
If i set my phone to airplane mode (which i usually do at night) the next morning i'll find it with near to no battery and just hanged on the samsung logo. I've tried to leave it out of airplane mode a whole night and it did not crash. Now just today, to see it happen, i set it to airplane mode, within an hour/hour and a half i tried to pick it up and wasnt responding to any button and suddenly shows the samsung logo.
So i'm pretty sure now that the behavior is linked to Airplane mode. I've cleared cache etc. I'm just not sure where to start. There must be something that just crashes the phone when in airplane mode. Going for factory reset is out of the question for now (well idealy). ps : it was fine under KK
Where to start/what to look for ? I'm in the meantime downloading the Android SDK, after that I'll put the usb debugging on and have an adb logcat running and force a crash again.
So I flashed the latest firmware, after being unlocked, then rent back to bootloader, flashed recovery, went to recovery and installed file. Then restarted...now stuck in boot loop. It booted before I went to flash recovery in the new firmware just fine.
Do you need to flash something else when you flash recovery?
it says device is corrupt when I restart, but I was under the impression that screen comes up when bootloader is unlocked, so not sure if it means anything...
Last night, I left my phone on charge. It was working normally and the software was functional etc. However, once I woke up, the phone was constantly restarting itself, and wouldn't load past the boot animation. I tried to load up fastboot to enter the TWRP recovery, however, the phone froze on the load screen. I should also add that my custom boot animation was replaced by the CyanogenMod mascot.
I tried to use WugFresh's NRT to flash a factory image of Android 6, however, the command terminal indicated that each process had failed. This did not restore the phone to its original condition.
I should also point out that I have been running a CM 12.1 nightly, which has been very stable and I have been using this nightly, without major problems (bar the infrequent system UI crashes) for a couple of months. It is obviously rooted and I have a Nandroid backup, which I can't access for aforementioned reasons.
So I updated to Marshmallow from Lollipop via fastboot on my Mac. Upon installing SuperSU and rebooting, I got stuck on the boot animation. Cache wipe and factory reset - still no go, and after the factory reset, I lost TWRP. I tried installing it again only to receive a black screen when rebooting into recovery mode. Tried another factory reset and reinstalled Marshmallow - same issue. I have contacted Google and there's nothing they can do.
