Jun 9, 2012A friend have two iphones, a 4 and 4s. She has tried to transfure the data from the 4 to 4s using itunes, and this has been mostly sucessful. However, some of the text messages and notes have not been synced? Also, when i try and sync her 4 in its entirety, i.e not just notes and contacts, but music and movies aswell, it says it has been synced with another itunes library and do i want to erase the data.

Sep 3, 2010Weird problem here, my Notes application cannot find the notes I've written, it's like they were auto-deleted. The first time it happened I thought maybe I exited without pressing done, thinking maybe that saves it. But it's happened to me several times. I write a note, press done, exit out of the program. Open up the program and the note is still there, but after a day or 2 it's just completely gone. I'm not even syncing it or anything. This is on a ip4 with 4.02 and no JB.

May 6, 2014I'm eligible to upgrade my HTC EVO LTE and have been thinking of moving to the Samsung S5, but any size limit on notes in the Contacts app is a deal-killer. Samsung started truncating the notes field in the S3 and did the same with the S4. The limit is around 980 characters; see this discussion about the S4 for details: the notes section in a contact is limited in the s4 - xda-developers.
Be sure to try editing larger notes since it might seem like you can import large notes with a contact, but they get truncated as soon as you try to edit them in-app. I'm really hoping that Samsung fixed this in the S5 since it's a serious limitation if you keep detailed notes with your contacts, or import from something like Outlook.

May 11, 2014My Galaxy S5 synchronises with my Outlook contacts (via Microsoft Exchange). On the Galaxy, the notes field in Contacts seems to have a size limitation, and will only show ~1,000 characters, truncating any information beyond that and preventing me from editing or adding information via the handset. This is annoying as many of my contact records contain far more than 1,000 characters of information in the notes field. Any way of removing the size limitation? Alternatively is there some 3rd party application that synchronises seamlessly with Outlook contacts via Microsoft Exchange?

May 28, 2015The S6 is my second Android phone. First was an LG G2. I'm noticing my Exchange contact notes are truncated on the S6. Seems to display first 1000 characters only. My G2 did not exhibit this limitation.
I did some searching around on this subject and it seems to be a common Samsung complaint.
My workaround so far has been to use the Outlook app when I need all notes for a given contact. This workaround is somewhat inconvenient and I'd like to find a better way to natively manage Contacts.
Galaxy S6 :: Calendar - Why Do Event Invites / Notes Display On Single Line
Aug 2, 2015When I accept meeting invitations through my email and it adds it to my google calendar, my phone displays the notes section on a single line. Making it nearly impossible to scroll over and read. I can't modify the calendar event at all, and I have to open up the web browser or original email (by searching through my emails) to view the notes within the original spacing/formatting.
Only calendar events that I make myself will have the proper notes section spaced out. Please see attached photos for my examples:
Here is an event this is nearly a page full of notes, but it only displays on a single line that I have to scroll left to right on.

Apr 23, 2015I have moved to a Galaxy S6 after being an iPhone user since 2009. I love the phone, but I can't exactly figure out how to transfer my photos to my Mac running OS Yosemite. I had installed Samsung Smart Switch, but it appears that this application is for getting information from my old iOS device to my S6. I am fully aware that I can use sources like Google Drive and Drop Box to upload the photos, but I would rather do this via USB.
Samsung Kies does not work with the S6 based on my initial use of that program. When using the program with the S6 I received a prompt to use Smart Switch as Kies does not work with the S6. A suggestion that was given to me today was use Android File Transfer for Mac. I read though that this will not work with the S6 either. I would be happy at this point to simply plug the device in and go to finder and work with the files like I can on a Windows machine, but I don't see myself using a Windows PC any time in the future.

Apr 30, 2015Did something happen with the way you transfer files on the new S6? I finally got the wife to switch from iPhone, and when she plugs in the phone to her computer, it just charges. It doesn't show in "My Computer" like every other android device I've ever used. Sometimes I'd have to drag down the notifications and select file transfer, or MTP, or something similar. This phone doesn't do any of that. It just charges, very frustrating.
I tried a different cable. Still, the phone just says its charging.
I even figured I'd go to settings, storage, but the menu option in there for "USB Computer Connection" is missing too. Its like the core functionality for usb file transfer is just gone.
What am I missing? Has it been this way for a while and I just never knew because I've been nexus for so long? I don't think thats it. Surely something is wrong and I'm just overlooking it.
For what its worth, it didn't work on my Mac either using the Android File Transfer program. That just says No Android Device Found.
