Galaxy S6 :: Do Not Disturb Settings Turn On In The Middle Of Night Randomly
Apr 15, 2015
How to stop it? The schedule function is off, so it can't be that. I've enabled the exception for alarms within it since this keeps happening, but could be dangerous for some people if it does enable on its own like this.
Even though I have Do Not Disturb set during the night, the LED on my phone still lights up for notifications.
Is there a setting to turn this off? It seems ridiculous that you've told the phone you don't want to be disturbed, yet it thinks it's ok to flash an LED light every few seconds!
I've recently been experiencing on my SGS II that it shuts itself down in the night (usually at similar hours). I have also done some research in this matter and found out that this was also plaguing the previous Galaxy phone. I have the latest KWE7 update and i'm pretty sure it didn't happen before that.
I want to use do not disturb with a schedule. I had blocking on with my S5 and it would start blocking at bedtime and turn itself back off in the morning. Do not disturb sounds like it should do the same thing, and it does turn on at night, but it will not shut itself off the next morning. It definitely keeps blocking calls. Is there any solution, besides the next software update (I hope)?
So a few days ago my Moto X Pure rebooted on it's own in the middle of the night, which woke me up a 3AM due to the bright white Moto X splash screen, and I though it was a random one of thing but the yesterday it did it again in the middle of the night and now it has done it 3 times so far today. I'm backing everything up now so I can do a master reset in a bit.
I removed the 2 apps I have installed since then, there are no memory leaks as far as I can see, and the phone otherwise works just like it did when I got it.I'd prefer not to have to do an advanced exchange with Moto but I will if need be, especially since there likely isn't very many 'Like New' Moto X's yet in my exact configuration and I'll probably end up with another new one.
Usually a couple of times during the night I wake up to find my phone screen on. It's bugging me because this does not happen during the day. Otherwise I think I could turn off what is causing it to light up at night.
I bought my S6 about 3 weeks ago. I was using it normally, but then I left it and when I came back it wouldn't turn on unless I pressed the volume down key too. After that it kept turning off after 15-30 minutes I turned it on, everytime, and then it simply wouldn't turn on whatever i did, even if a pressed all 4 buttons for 10 seconds. Then I simply pressed the power button and it turned on. It behaved normally for that whole day.
I went to sleep with 45% battery and it died. Again it wouldn't turn on unmattering what i did, and after like 5 hours i pressed the volume down and power again and it turned on (after many tries), wtih 27% battery - and it was always off, but after like 2 minutes it died again, and only turned on, after many tries, when I presed vlm dwn, power and home together, giving me the restart screen with 7% charge. (not that dos/cmd-like, with hard reset and all, only a custom os and restart). it worked normally (draining battery fast), and then shut down again, even if i was charging it, though the whatsapp green led is flashing, so i think it's not completely off.
I'm trying to listen to music with Spotify on my Droid Bionic but the Spotify player randomly pauses frequently in the middle of songs. This actually happens when I'm using the stock music player as well, not only Spotify.
If I'm home, connected to my home WiFi, sometimes my wifi will just randomly turn itself off.. And then when I'm out (let's say I'm driving around) my WiFi will just randomly turn itself on. I have a Sprint S6 and I have connections optimizer deleted (using Titanium Backup) and I have "always allow scanning" OFF and "keep WiFi on during sleep" ON.
I went for a run today and noticed that the stopwatch would randomly turn itself off during my run. It happened twice and at first I thought may have inadvertently did it myself, but then I checked again when I got home and after 3 minutes and change it reset back to 0 on its own. I restart every few days and do a partition wipe at least once a month.
With Do Not Disturb turned on, all of my notifications are kept quiet, screen doesn't turn on, no vibration - except one app. Facebook still comes through. I keep my S6 on vibrate at night, so it's not that big of a deal (other than draining battery). But the blue flashing LED is annoying and lights up the whole room. Is there anyway to set Facebook quiet hours or something similar? Or set it so it will play nice with Do Not Disturb? I also think the Google Photo assistant does the same. I don't really care if Google has put together a slide show of my vacation in the middle of the night.
Do not disturb feature in my s6 edge is not blocking calls like the previous Blocking mode in Samsung devices. It just mutes the device and incoming calls. Is there any other way to block all calls like the previous blocking mode.
I have a rooted AT&T S6 and was using Tasker normally, but I decided to clean up/freeze some more system apps, and then I ran into a problem. For some reason, accessibility settings for Tasker become disabled and when I tried to re-enable them, I was prompted with this error message: "Error: "Turn on universal switch. Universal switch does not support the current system language. The text-to-speech language will be set to null, but this might cause unexpected behavior". After hitting "Ok", it would say settings has crashed.
I fixed this by unfreezing Samsung text-to-speech engine. Afterwards, the message about Universal Switch never came up again. This is just an FYI if cannot enable any accessibility settings due to settings has crashed.
I have a Sprint Galaxy s6. I want to turn off the shutter sound but there is no option in the camera settings to turn it off. As soon as my kids hear that sound they immediately stop whatever they are doing.
i am using S6 and somehow or rather this bottom right corner keep popping out this half semi circle with all the quick settings tools. it seems to be happens when i swipe up from the bottom right corner of the screen.
I've a problem with my 9700 in the evening. Before I go to bed, I press down the red 'off' button on the right and the screen says, 'now shutting down' or whatever it says. So I take my finger off.In the morning when I wake, the phone has been on all night?!Am I doing something wrong? Are u suposed to keep ur finger down until the screen goes blank?
Is it possible to control the button backlights? It would be really nice to be able to turn them off. Ever try to read a Kindle book or watch videos in the dark? The buttons are really bright compared to the screen and they hurt my eyes. I could find any control in the settings. Any chance of adding that feature
Sometimes in the middle of doing something the screen goes dark on my galaxy s5 and i cannot continue what i am doing because i can't see it well enough.
I've had my One since May and I am very happy with it. About a week ago I noticed the phone's settings are changing on their own. Things like screen brightness, tone volume and even the type of ring tone for calls & notifications will change. I use a lock screen so accidental button pushing is not the reason.
My camera works fine at day but at night focusing is extremely slow and when I shoot, it takes ~5 seconds for phone to take a photo. Also, friend (with his LG G2) and I took the same picture in the dark and his looks much better. S5 took much darker picture..
