EE have launched Wifi calling but only on firmware branded by EE. I got my Galaxy S5 from a third party supplier so its unlocked and unbranded. I downloaded the EE Firmware and tried to install it onto my S5 and it comes up with the following error: volume size is too big ext4..I currently have G900FXXU1B0C7 but need to install PDAG900FXXU1POD1 CSCG900FEVR1POD1.

That no longer works. I can however change the font sizes by pinching. What do I have to do to have the volume keys change the font sizes again? Or was that feature removed by one of the updates?

View 6 Replies View RelatedIn short, after installing the 5.1.1 update, my phone seemed to lag a little on menus and such, so I did a factory reset. Everything was fine, except now after the reset, for some strange reason I can't change the screen grid size in the TouchWiz panel customization menu. The button that says "screen grid" is there, but it's now greyed out and I can't access it. I did some Googling and found that the newest version of TouchWiz (that is stock installed on S6's) is TouchWiz Nature UX 5.0; I checked "TouchWiz Home" app info under my applications manager and it says "Version 4.0".
Could it be that I am running and older version of TouchWiz (because I know the screen grid customization is a feature of the new TouchWiz) -- I don't understand that though, how could a factory reset revert to an older version of TouchWiz than what was stock installed in the first place? I know I could just install a different launcher but I am completely fine with TouchWiz, I just want to be able to change the grid size like I could before the factory reset.
BTW I have a Sprint 32GB S6 with everything unaltered -- non-rooted and everything stock. I would post a screenshot but I can't figure out how to upload an image from file.
Any way to lock down the font size in the stock messaging app? I know in previous version of touchwiz, this was possible.
I'm using an AT&T variant, and not sure if they took that ability out, or if it was just an omission from the s6 in general.
The app is fine by me, but the volume rocker changing the text size is getting annoying. Figured I'd check before changing to a new messaging app.
I finally own a Galaxy S6 and now I'm enjoying using the Window Pop-Up Feature on the phone, because I can run my emulator and chat on Whatsapp at the same time... But... The Windowed version of those Apps are too large. Is there a way to overwrite the minimum limit of the pop-up window?

I gave my daughter my s6 last weekend and I purchased another today. Noticed on mine, even after a FR, the screen grid size is there but greyed out. Same on my daughters.

On the first one, as soon as I touched on the "in my humble opinion", it shrunk to that tiny size (without opening).
On the second one, the op's text is readable, but everything else is real small.
Hoping it's just a setting adjustment that needs to be made.
I was looking for Samsung Galaxy S wallpapers online and I found some that are 360x640. I tried to use these on the phone but it makes me crop the picture before I can set it as a wallpaper and I'm only ending up with 40 % of the original wallpaper. what size I need to create them in on photoshop?

I know how to adjust the font size when I go right into the messenger app. But I can't seem to find any setting to adjust the font size in the pop up. It wasn't that small when the O/S was Kit Kat.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm eligible to upgrade my HTC EVO LTE and have been thinking of moving to the Samsung S5, but any size limit on notes in the Contacts app is a deal-killer. Samsung started truncating the notes field in the S3 and did the same with the S4. The limit is around 980 characters; see this discussion about the S4 for details: the notes section in a contact is limited in the s4 - xda-developers.
Be sure to try editing larger notes since it might seem like you can import large notes with a contact, but they get truncated as soon as you try to edit them in-app. I'm really hoping that Samsung fixed this in the S5 since it's a serious limitation if you keep detailed notes with your contacts, or import from something like Outlook.
Can change the size of the icons on the Home Screens. I would like them to be smaller.

On the Galaxy, the notes field in Contacts seems to have a size limitation, and will only show ~1,000 characters, truncating any information beyond that and preventing me from editing or adding information via the handset. This is annoying as many of my contact records contain far more than 1,000 characters of information in the notes field. Any way of removing the size limitation? Alternatively is there some 3rd party application that synchronises seamlessly with Outlook contacts via Microsoft Exchange?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen watching any video on my S2 (either downloaded or streaming) the video itself is very small in the centre of the screen. This wasn't always the case with it though. I think I must have dozed off watching something the other evening, leaving my finger on the screen, and now the "video ratio" icon that should be on the bar with the play, rwd and ffwd icons is no longer there!
Whatever I try, I cannot get the icon back or reset the video to maximise itself on screen.
Kies tells me I have a firmware upgrade - from the size of download it seems quite major - but it won't install.Initially I found Norton was blocking it and quite proudly telling me so. I ended up uninstalling Norton but having gone through all the steps and downloading the files my PC does not get past 0% on "Firmware upgrade progress" and the mobile just displays a little green android with the message "Downloading . . . Do not turn off target".
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an S5 with the official S5 case, just about every time i look at the phone the volume is a zero. I thought that i was catching the volume keys when the case was closed. I tried this but it was not that, in fact the phone closes when the cover is closed.
I can't see anything i have changed or could cause this, i have missed various calls and texts because of this.
Is it possible to use a normal micro hdmi to normal size one for viewing on tv? I see the Samsung one has to be ran off the power cable too or is this just for the official Samsung one?

This was not a problem when I first purchased it about 6 months ago. Now, I just cannot hear what callers are saying unless there is absolute quiet where I am. My hearing is fine!

I am finding that when i am talking on the phone and even though i have it set to full volume, it seems lower than my S4 was, there is an option i have seen called 'extra volume', but when i have turned this on, i havnt actually noticed much difference in volume?
Call volume seems pretty low, my older s4 seemed to have been a little louder at full volume, but when full on the s6 im struggling to hear people sometimes.
Also, there is an option called 'extra volume' and when i press this on, there doesn't seem to be any difference in volume?
