On, my Samsung 5S,all the numbers on my lock screen are blank square. I can select them and give the right info but it look likes there is a problem with the display.

Upgraded to Lollipop at the weekend so i'm assuming a bug related to the update.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5. Its not rooted. But I am running Nova Launcher as my default launcher. It causes my lock screen to kinda glitch out. The letters and numbers on the pin lock screen are turning into solid white blocks. I know if I restart my phone, it fixes it. But I'm just curious as to what causes it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedYet another problem with my Bold 9930 I'm sad at this point that the device I love so much is already dying on me, hasn't even been 3 months yet I'm going to mention all the problems with this device, but the one that started few weeks ago and has gotten to the point where it just adds on to the frustrationAfter locking the device, when i try to unlock, using the top lock button, I just see blank screen, screen and keypad lit up thou. Sometimes when i restart my device, it won't display the blackberry logo and the progress bar, i just get the blank lit up screen. and after 5 - 10 minutes or so, i use random buttons on the keypad to get the display back, but nothing works. i just see blank screen and lit up keypad. Display would randonly get back but its a pain in the &&& to get the device display back after so many tries

View 3 Replies View RelatedHaving a weird issue with my screen. Occasionally, (about 5 times in the last 2 weeks) when I grab my phone, the screen does not come on. I can see the multifunction buttons light up, I can swipe the screen and hear the sound for the unlock, and if I tap on the screen it does not light up and screen stays black.
If I hold power, it does not reboot. if I push home it does nothing, but I can hear that the phone is on, if a call comes through I can hear it ring, and can answer from my home button, but the screen stays black.
I can do a battery pull and phone starts fine. It is as if the backlight is not coming on at all at times, or possibly like a proximity sensor is not allowing the phone to recognize that the screen should be off.
Cannot tell if it is a hardware issue or software issue. I have not changed any software since I got it a few weeks back, some software has updated, but this is happening comepletely at random and always when the phone has been locked.
Phone has never been dropped and is in a case and has no screen protector, there is not a mark on the phone at all.
Should I arrange to swap the phone? should I contact my carrier?
Is the forum partially down? If I click on a thread I only get a blank white screen.

This morning the screen was blank, but everything is working fine, the keys and numbers light up blue and the touch also works, note: the screen has two small cracks too. View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there any way of getting the actual phone numbers to show when in the "Contacts" screen instead of just the contacts name. If I want to look for a phone number, it means that I have got to click on each contact name to bring up the next screen with the phone number etc on it and then click back to the contacts screen and keep doing it all through the list of contacts.
With my old HTC Desire it used to show both right at the start.
I have seen this in the past but it has disappeared, now it is a permanent item

Switched back to "Standard Mode", but found my home screen gone, with a blank page in it's place. I found some directions on how to move pages around, making one a home screen. I selected the page I wanted as home screen and moved it to the page where the white house icon is highlighted. I was done but noticed nothing had changed. Home page still blank, so I did it again. I find that whenever I try creating my home screen page by moving it to the highlighted white house icon, the white house icon shifts to the left, remaining blank.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI miss the full screen album art on the lock screen from my lg G3 while playing any type of media (Pandora, Spotify, etc.) ... Even worked while I used xbmc (now kodi)... I believe even Samsung had this as well. While some didn't like it, I loved it!
Any way to get that back on the s6/edge?? Not sure why they did away with this.

So my fully updated S5 lock screen will disable itself randomly. I will have it on the swipe or code lock and several days later it will just auto put it back to no screen lock. Same is happening to my wife's S5 and we have a few same apps that we have had for a year. It could be several days to one day.

It's very frustrating that every time I go to do anything on my phone either the screen is frozen or its updating. It wont even let me turn the screen on unless I open the keypad - freezes and updates when trying to hang up a call- takes two minutes to prep phone for every use.

When I go to the 'screen lock type' screen, it does not offer Swipe or None, they are there but in lightened font. just want to return the phone to no lock. I was able to remove the fingerprints but now the Screen Lock Type screen only offers pattern, pin, password or fingerprints. I want None...but it is in lightened font and says "Turned off by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have had my S5 2 days. When I am in the lock screen If i press the side lock button or get a notification (sms/email/eBay) or when my charge hits 100% The screen lights up.
I like this feature the only problem is then the screen does not go back out!! it stays lit until i tap the side lock button again or unlock the phone until it times out again .
I have checked developer options and nothing is ticked to keep screen on etc... I have also tried messing with screen lock times and stuff.
