Galaxy S5 :: Doesn't Have As Many Features As Others?
Jun 17, 2015
I bought my galaxy s5 three months back and i was happy with it. Until the time i tried to delete contacts off of my phone. I looked for a delete function on the phone, but failed to find any. I looked online and many video tutorials had a function to delete contacts in the app, but i couldn't find any. Their layout looked like this: While mine looked like this: That wasn't my only problem. I realized that my s5 version was in kitkat 4.4.2 and lollipop was already out. I tried to update my system, but it said my system was up to date. I tried kies to update, but kies wouldn't detect my system. There were many other problems, like missing some of the settings and functions that a s5 should normally have, not being able to change my lockscreen without an app, and so on.
Prior to the update I kept getting a time scape video showing me how to use all the features, this kept draining my battery to the point where I did not want the phone anymore.
Then after I did the update the other day and it got rid of the problem J. Then it came back on today, and I want to know how to get rid of it as it drains my battery.I know how to use the features I don't need a demo video playing in the background.
Obviously multi-tasking is out, and I'm hearing to wallpapers on the homescreen. What things CAN the 3g do, for those of you who have had iOS4 for awhile? I have searched the internet for a little and most just found 'iPhone 3G will not have all features", which isn't very specific.
Other than the obvious lack of buttons on the Rumor 2, are most of the internal workings the same as the Touch? For instance fixes for uploading ring tones and other hacks.
Okay, so other than the email box showing my accounts twice instead of once, what other features are actually different on the 3G with the iOS 4.0 software? I am having a hard time locating the differences. The download size was substantially smaller than the reported download size for the 3GS.
Does anybody have a list of new features/ fixes that will be in 4.1? Or more specifically will the muffled bluetooth issue be addressed? Sorry if this was posted already but I couldnt find it.
Am excited that ICS will be available for our Xperia Smartphones. But i wonder will this update/ICS work well on our smartphones? Will i encounter any problem like slow/sluggish operation, frequent hangups etc.? Is it advisable to upgrade from my 2.3.4 to this 4.04 version? Also, i would like to know what are the new features that will be intoduced in this particular update?
Just bought myself a N900 thinking it would be just the thing to replace my aging Sony Clie PEG-UX50 and my SE K750I. After much messing around I have managed to export my calendar from the Clie and also Thunderbird (Why no Thunderbird synch in PC Site??) only to find a number of really basic features arent available:-
1) Events cannot repeat on anything but a day of the month. If an event is on the 17th of every month that is fine. If however you want an event on the first Monday or the second Tuesday of every month then I cant see any way you can do it. Am I missing something?
2) Birthdays. There are some Birthdays I want to remember but I dont have contacts for the people they are for. Friends children for example. Why cant I enter a birthday directly in to the Calendar app? The Birthday Calendar is there and is local but the only way to put an entry in to it is to create a contact and add a birthday.
3) Reminders. Why cant I have a reminder at any time I want? Days, Weeks or Months earlier? I only seem to be able to set a reminder at some time during the day before the event.
These are all such basic features of a calendar application that I cannot see why they are not there. My Clie does them, Thunderbird does them. Outlook does them Am I missing something obvious? If not is there an improved version coming? Is there another app out there that will do what I need? (Please no Google Calendar I didnt buy this to use Google). The inability to handle repeat events and reminders are really a show stopper for me.
Questions: 1. How can I see al the phone and memory contenst through the PC Suite file manager when it seems all files are protected and hidden? 2. How can I move files from pc memory to mass memory so that I have more free memory on the phone? What files can be moved? 3. I am trying to install N-Gage but after installing the message reads to make a reboot: does this mean a switch off and switch on process or there is a reboot procedure? 4. Why N97 will not switch on if the sync cable is inserted in the phone? 5. Why I am not allowed to update to firmware 2.
I updated my Nokia firmware version to 60.0.003. I am located in India. I see that phone's browser has been updated to the latest version. As i have seen the change logs over internet I don't see "Swipe to Unlock" on my phone. It appeared only once.
I am pondering to get iphone 4 contract-free (699-799) and wondering what are feature limitations?
I would love to,
1. use it with T-mobile pay-as-you-go plan 2. be able to use all iphone 4 features (facetime! over wi-fi) 3. use GPS for nav apps etc (not sure if this requires data plan - possibly depends on specific app)
All of these new features are great but does anyone know where to find a User Guide to show how to engage/use them? Not even Apple.com has anything listed.I stumbled on how to create folders in another thread. It would be nice if all of the info was in a doc somewhere - it'd be a timesaver for me (and I can't be the only one.
WIFI features are not available in Manage connections. Only Bluetooth and Mobile Network.Having said that I cannot access WIFI in my blackberry phone. How come this is not available. How can I setup the wifi?
I use a torch 9810 and I just upgraded to the new OS 7.1 and not all the new features are on my phone. For example I don't have FM radio, the mobile data e.t.c what can I do to get these features.
As ICS update is yet to come to INDIA, in the meantime Can anyone make a video of ICS running on Xperia phone showing new features and pros and cons. As some of them already had ICS on their Xperias. A video makes clear is it smooth or laggy.A detailed review if possible.
Is there a way to use Bitpim with an Env3 and use the features on the far left side of the bitpim program, like Call Lists, SMS, Ringtones, Calender etc?I set Bitpim up to recognize my phone as an Env2 as I found in a thread related to ringtone transfers.
I am planning on getting a cell phone with virgin mobile canada and i was wondering which cell phone offers better features and more bang for your buck. they are all the same price at o$ with a 2 year contract. i am mostly going to use it for texting and talking and games, i am not going to be web browsing or using email.
I recently updated my 3GS from 4.0 software to 5.1. I feel like I am missing features. Do I need to also download the 9 downloads of the 4.2-5.0 updates to get everything or is it included in the 5.1?
