Is there a Samsung cache cleaning application that does the same thing as holding down the power key, volume key and home keys together?
View 6 RepliesIt has been acting up the past few days, randomly turning itself off, and I am trying to get it to turn back on. Randomly it will turn back on when I push the power button, but is unresponsive when doing all the reset combos. Today it turned itself off while sitting on the table at home. I have not been able to get it back on and its been about 6 hours now, and its been plugged in to the wall charger the whole time. If I take it to apple, can they pull the serial number off for warranty purposes?

Taking a screen shot requires holding the power and volume down buttons for a few seconds. Couldn't it be done by just pressing them? Also, it should take the screen shot when the buttons are released. As it is now, everytime I force a reboot, I also take a screen shot.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have rooted, de-bloated, and installed an LED notification manager, which has made my phone nearly perfect. The only lagging issue is the overly busy Status/Notification bar and drop-down. Things I would like to change:
Status Bar
- remove AM/PM from the clock
- remove NFC icon when active
- change battery status to something that takes up less space, the default is icon AND percentage. I'd ideally love to use the Circle Battery Mod.
Drop Down
- remove the brightness slider
- remove the "s finder" and "quick connect" buttons.
My phone came up with a message asking if i wanted to update to the new software so clicked ok, it seemed to be taking ages and then suddenly went off. Now when holding down the power button and the home button it is still not working and wont restore?

The message goes away and my phone goes back to home screen. I can't make any calls. I can receive a call and text. When I text the contact list comes up, but not when I try to make a call. Did the cache partition wipe, factory restore, and for a while it was ok.. then it started acting up again - getting super hot, quick battery drain, apps crashing. Applied the other update from Verizon and went through all the same steps again, with the same results. Each time I reinstalled fewer and fewer apps. Now I've just done another cache partition wipe, factory restore, set up no email accounts, installed no apps, and am running in safe mode.. and my phone feels pretty hot. What's the best/safest way to check the health (temp) of the battery? Should I install GSam for a while? Or is there a way within the stock battery stuff to check the temp?

Initially I was getting a notification about a Google Play Services error, and all the icons for apps stored on my SD card were grayed out, but still usable. The Google Play Services error and the icon issue seemed to take care of themselves with a re-start, and everything seems to be working OK now.
I've read here and other places that doing a Wipe Partition Cache after the update often smooths things up and can improve speed, with no risk of losing data. Well, I've tried about a dozen times to do the 3 button press, but all I ever accomplish is restarting the phone. Is there a trick to getting into Recovery, or should I just keep trying?
I need to view the cache file for facebook messenger on my galaxy s5. I do not want to clean/delete the cache, I need a way to download and/or view it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy 1 month old s6 (920i) struggles to get a 3.5hr SOT during the day. Coming from the s3 where i used to easily get a 5hr SOT with the same usage style i can say this is pathetic. In the battery section top of the list i have Android OS and Google Services, followed by Facebook and Instagram.
Note that i have most of the things turned off except when using them, such as wifi, gps, nfc etc... Also i tried booting to stock recovery and clearing cache but this has not solved the issue. The phone does go to deep sleep as i have checked using BBS.
I wiped my Samsung G5's cache in an effort to speed it up, and after reset all applications crash (I get Report/OK) button options, and the screen is black. Nothing else is happening. I rebooted, I wiped cache again, and nothing. The phone is rooted with Android 5.0 on it, touchwiz.

If there was not any other "fix" or "upgrade" I would still be thrilled with just this one. Luckily the phone just runs so much smoother, faster, and less "buggy" as well.The only thing that gets me is why my phone is at 1.0Ghz and my wifes is at 1.2Ghz. They were bought at the same time from AT&T in the USA, have the same apps, have tried resets on both since discovering this, have the same processors, serial #'s are nearly identical except for 2 numbers.

Whenever I turn it on it starts to install something... then ends up saying "Untrusted software on memory card. Go to application manager to install"There are old apps I had installed on my old phone in the app manager that I can't remove, and I think this may be the problem. when I try to remove them it says it failed. I can't see those apps in the OS or use them. They just appear as installed in the app manager. What do I do??
