View 11 RepliesDo not disturb feature in my s6 edge is not blocking calls like the previous Blocking mode in Samsung devices. It just mutes the device and incoming calls. Is there any other way to block all calls like the previous blocking mode.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy super easy cell phone number is a series of repeating numbers, so I am the reluctant recipient of A LOT of b/u/t/t-dialed calls, especially while I sleep. I turned on Blocking Mode on my Samsung Galaxy S5 so that only numbers that are NOT in my contacts are blocked while I sleep. I thought blocking these calls simply meant that my phone wouldn't ring and that notification sounds would be "silenced" since the setting options control notifications. Does it really mean that all of these b/u/t/t-dialed calls are completely blocked and do not show up in my call log?
Luckily, there are stretches of days when no one b/u/t/t-dials me. I haven't had a b/u/t/t-dial since I enabled Blocking mode, but it's been a few days, so I do not know what it is exactly.
I am happy that accidental b/u/t/t-dialers aren't bothering me at night, but since I thought that they'd still show up in my missed call log, I thought I'd still be able to see who called during the blocking mode. I am now concerned about missing an overnight call from someone who needs to reach in case of a family emergency (e.g., hospital, police department, etc.)
I do not see the blocking mode option under personalization anywhere. I've been trying to use the Always Interrupt option, but it only allows me to block one time frame.

So i like to use the "wifi timer" function when i go to sleep, and auto start my wifi when i get to work.
But this piece of crap sometimes does not work, is there a fix for this problem ?
I believe the problem is , if you change the wifi status at any moment the wifi timer gets buggy: P when I fist set the Wifi Timer it works, but just for a few days.
Samsung software is really crappy, the "Blocking mode" also does not work correctly, configured not to show led notifications on specified time, and still does...
After my recent SD card swap, I've run into a problem. I have a few apps that show as not installed, and are no longer on offer at the play store. Unfortunately, the icons for these apps still appear in my app drawer. If I hold one and try do delete it, I'm told that system apps cannot be deleted. Trust me, Cookie Crush is not a system app.
Any tips for getting rid of these icons and cleaning up the app drawer?

View 10 Replies View RelatedMy girlfriend just got a verizon droid turbo today. It has kitkat 4.4.4 on it, and it's asking to update the OS. Based on the fact that the phone seems to perform just fine as is, I'm loath to take the chance on breaking stuff that isn't broken now. I have debloater on my computer, and I have successfully removed some stuff from her phone with it. However, like I said I would like to disable OTA operating system updates. What thing(s) do I need to disable with debloater to accomplish this? I did a search and was not able to find the answer. Is rooting the phone the only way to do this on the turbo?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got a galaxy s5, wanted to customize the screens and icons a bit more, read about nova launcher and downloaded. Am very happy with the screens and icons, etc. but ever since I did that I can't use google maps gps. What I try to put in an address to ask for directions it says "turn by turn navigation is only available in these location modes: high accuracy (or) device only" Then you have the option of hitting ignore, which means you still don't get directions, or settings, which takes you to the location section of settings. Location is set to on, but I can't see any place where "high accuracy" is an option and don't remember this ever being an issue with my S3 - which is why I think this is related to the Nova Launcher?how to fix it. I'll uninstall the launcher if I have to but wondering if there is an alternative.

before ICS update it was on gingerbread. I tried with KIES but phone developed a fault. It wasn't allowing me to pass "Samsung Galaxy SII" screen. I went to local shop and they sort it out. So i don't know how they did it. Two days later i find that camera is faulty.
Sometime in the last week, a post was made asking how to prevent an unwanted person from contacting her via SMS messaging. She can block his phone number directly, and/or just not answer "unknown caller" attempts. (could just direct those to a silent ring/disconnect)
I was browsing aimlessly thru the internet and just came across this blurb:
(*Text blocking not available on Android 4.4/KitKat) found it here: [URL] ....
and this blurb: • Starting from Android 4.4, Google has revoked SMS/MMS permissions from developers. Due to that fact, LINE whoscall will not be able to block SMS/MMS for Android versions 4.4 and above. Call blocking feature is not affected.
If that is actually true, as of today we have no way to block unwanted SMS messages.
I was reading all of the info on different Caller ID apps to see if any of them are worthwhile.
Or is there an app that can do it?
I've tried the 'blacklist' option but it seems that people can find out that I've blacklisted them. Is there a more discreeet way where they can't find out?
When I go to wipe my cache partition, before the boot menu appears I get a message every time that says "Installing System Update" and the little Android guy appears and acts like he's doing something. Normally functioning phones seeing this message before getting to their cache wipe?
I've done full Factory Resets twice now and also many cache wipes but I'm wondering if that original T-Mobile update on the first day got hung up and won't fix itself even with Factory Resets. And, wondering if perhaps other T-Mobile users have the same problem too causing the litany of issues we've seen.
I just got my Galaxy S5 and love it. I know you can add numbers to a reject list so when they call it takes them to your voicemail and you get no notification that even called. Is there a way to add those numbers to a reject list so when they text you get no notification as well, or am I stuck with receiving their texts still? I know there's other apps that block texts, but from all the ones I've tried the screen still lights up when the blocked messages come in, and the one that didn't like up I did not like at all.
View 4 Replies View Relatedkies advised that a system update was available for my S5 so I updated. Since then, my alarm doesn't sound in silent mode and system doesn't allow me to change sounds of silent mode.
I've tried 3rd party alarm as well, but didn't make a difference.
i have a galaxy s6 through Bell and it is completely stock and i have not modified it in any way. i am having an issue where some apps, but not others, will not download data unless i am on wifi. i do have some apps that have background data restricted but i am having issues when the apps are in the foreground and are actively being used. i have checked to make sure that there are no data limits or restrictions blocking data, i have full lte signal and i have tried toggling between lte and 3g with the same results.
i have used the phone for 5 weeks at least and for the first 3 weeks all was good until this issue crept up and i had to do a hard reset. i started from scratch and reset the phone and all was good for another 2 weeks and now it is an issue again. as an example, i open the play store app and it loads up the icons and i can use lte and load all info and pics, etc, but when i try to download a new app or update an existing one it will indicate that it is trying to download but nothing happens. i can switch to the browser and it will open pages but when i switch back to the play store it says that background data is disabled when it is actually not.
today i have also had issues with google music where it will allow me to play radio stations over lte just fine sometimes and other times the icons will be greyed out and it will not allow the radio stream to open unless i switch to wifi. the settings are set up to allow me to stream over data, etc so it should be working.i have had many android devices in the past and am usually able to figure this stuff out but i am stumped on this one.
I have a Galaxy S6 that I purchased off Ebay and on the back of the phone, the model is SM-G920i but in the settings of the phone, the model number is SM-G920F. I want to get this back to original stock firmware based on the G920i. The only problem is that I cannot get into Download Mode to be able to use Odin. I have tried all of the hardware combinations and the only thing is does is take me to a Factory Mode, where the options are Auto Test, Manual Test, Item Test, Test Report, Debug Test, Clear eMMC, Version, and Reboot.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI tried to update the version of Maps on my 6760 slide to 3.03, not realising that it doesn't work on this phone yet. Anyway, I uninstalled it after it wouldn't open the app. Now how do I get version 3.01 back on there? The maps download site does not include the 6760 in the list to choose from. I followed the manual's instructions to downgrade (do a backup, hard-reset), but after the reset the app is still missing. I guess the app was installed on the micro-sd card, not internal memory. What do you suggest?

OS 5.0.0.810
BlackBerry App World 2.0.0.36
When on my BlackBerry I click on BlackBerry App World.. then I click on My World
It lists my installed applications at the top... at the bottom though it lists my uninstalled applications. I do not want it listing my uninstalled applications... I didn't pay for them, I don't use them, and I'm never going to reinstall them.
I tried the ALT+r,s,t thing and it did refresh my app world... but my uninstalled apps. are still showing up. I also did a battery pull, and yes... they are still showing up.
Is there a way to remove this annoying uninstalled list... I know I can collapse it... but that's the thing... I don't want anything showing up in that list... that list is pointless to me.. if I uninstalled something which is free I should have the option to clear this list.
