Galaxy S5 :: Why Google Typing Repeating Every Phrase Twice On Messaging
Feb 2, 2015
I have an AT&T Galaxy S5 (4.4.2)and when I use Google voice typing in the default messaging app, it repeats the last phrase i speak twice. This probably happens 40% of the time. I have not noticed it anywhere else except for when I am dictating a text.
I type quickly (or pressing one button repeatedly quickly) and, often the screen would get a blue margin around the screen, and it gets into a weird mode, sort of a pseudo frozen state. I'd have to press the home button repeatedly to get out of that strange mode.
I've always had this issue of alphabets/numbers repeating when I type with my keypad. This is extremely frustrating, and i even showed it to the service center, they said they wanted 10 days to repair it (without a replacement).
I have a galaxy s5, set the notification noise for text to repeat every 2 minutes, its not doing it though. When I get a text it just makes the noise once, thats it .Why and how to change this?
On bbm I keep getting an incoming bbm instant message alert/sound while im typing a message. The alert/sound only appears for incoming bbm messages when I'm typing on bbm. the alert/sound is different than the sound that I set on the profile menu and the volume is much bigger. Can I deactivate this alert/sound?
New owner of a 4s and need to be able to add several lines such as an address to the 'phrase' box in keyboard shortcuts. If I hit return it takes me to the 'Shortcut' box. I need to create many of these shortcuts so using signature is not going to facilitate.
Why my Google Keyboard stopped making the typing sounds? I checked all settings, cleared cache, etc...but no typing sounds. Key pop ups, and vibrate work fine as does all other sounds including home button sounds, etc. Also, the default LG keyboard typing sounds work fine! I know, I am probably the only person to ever WANT the typing sounds on but I like it that way...
Is there anyway to get the keyboard to show emojis when typing. I.e. when you type smile, you should see a smile emoji to enter, without going into you emoji part of the keyboard.
Since the time I have received my phone, while my phone is charging, typing becomes very slow and glitchy on all the messaging applications. I was previously using Google Keyboard, then downloaded swifkey pro, but the problem still persists.
Ever since the last hangouts update whenever I'm in a convo it no longer shows when the other participant is typing to me or when they are looking at the convo. Instead the profile pic that shows what they last read up to always shows gray like they don't have the convo open and when the person actually replies it just pops up with no typing notification. Same thing with my finance's nexus 4.
How to stop a search after you engaged your launch phrase. I hate when I get interrupted in the middle of a search and my phone thinks I am trying to search for whatever I am talking about. I've tried stop or quit, but that only takes me to the definition of the word.
My friends and I have group messages. But my phone wont receive a good portion of what it actually sent in the thread. I get all the pictures but the texts dont all come through. Running 5.0.1 on straight talk.
Having problems with their picture messaging on Lollipop preview? I have the newest preview and since then it has completely broken picture messaging. I can still get on the internet, but I can't send or receive pictures through text.
I was able to turn off the Emoji suggestions (aka when it puts a grey bubble around text that has a corresponding emoji) when I first got the phone, but they seem to have returned and I can't find a way to turn them off again.
When the last word in a sentence has a bubble around it (meaning I can make that word an emoji), my phone will put it there twice. Only if the word can be an emoji and it has a period after. For example, I just typed a sentence and the last word was "soon." I typed out "soon." And my phone sort of auto corrected it to "soon soon." NO matter how many times I tried deleting the second word, every time I put a period, if would add the word again.
I am using a verizon S5 running the stock 4.4.4 no rooting. For the past few weeks maybe a few months I have noticed the typing would get stuck.I was typing and even though I typed 5 words the screen would hold on the second one and after few seconds it would catch up. I have had this happen on a computer before when the cpu or ram was full and busy. As far as I can tell that is not the issue here. At least not as far as I can tell.
My second issue is when I am on the phone and hit speaker, the volume is low. If I hit the volume up it does not change. I can see the bar appear and or move but the actual volume doesn't change. I have even clicked the set up wheel and raised all volumes but no deal. I can play music and control the speaker volume, just not on a call.
I've been using SwiftKey as long as I remember on my old phones. I expected the s6 to run very smoothly with it but the opposite is true for me. Swipe to delete words barely works and typing is laggy and sluggish most of the time. Predictions are bad and I haven't found a way to make it work better.
I have vibrate set for when using the keyboard so that it vibrates when typing, and I have it on maximum strength...but every so often, the vibrate seems to change and it seems to be less strong even though I haven't changed the vibration settings.
Since the last update (August 2015), whenever I type some letters letters (one, sometimes 2) from the beginning of the word disappear before I can finish typing the word. This causes autocomplete to think I'm typing a completely different word.
E.g., I tried to type "think" - the "t" disappeared by the time I had gotten to the "i"(despite it initially appearing initially), making the phone think that the word is starting with "h", and leading to issues when I press space (despite typing think perfectly, the phone autocorrected to the nearest matching word starting with H as "h" was now the beginning letter)
This has only been an issue since updating my phone this week. I thought it might have been the swipe function messing up, but turning that off, it's still causing me issues when I type normally.
When I'm typing with the stock Samsung Keyboard occasionally it deletes the first letter of the word I'm typing automatically. This is really annoying because then it predicts a completely different word to the one I initially meant to type. Also, the issue is only with Samsung Keyboard, swiftkey works fine.
For some reason, the screen on my at&t gs6 doesn't seem as responsive as it should be. It often misses swipes I make while playing games or in the ui it also seems to take a bit longer than normal to register taps while typing.
I searched settings and developer options and I see no way to increase screen sensitivity.
Also happens a lot when pulling the drop down menu.
