I updated my GS5 to Lollipop, I haven't been able to transfer files to or from the phone through USB. When it connects to my computer all it does is charge now, and the computer doesn't recognize the GS5 as a mass storage device, as a phone....nothing. This used to be simple before the update, and as much as I searched through the phones settings and options, I can't find any settings regarding MTP.
When I look a user manuals or advice columns for my S6 I see that I am missing many camera function/settings. I have only a flash, mode, alternate front or back, camera, video buttons. Is this something I can change?
One of the main reasons I bought this phone was for the camera but indoor photo quality seems to be lacking a bit. What settings do I need to have on (or off) in order to take the best quality of pictures possible - for indoor and outdoor? I've played with it some but can't seem to get the right settings together.
On the S6 when you get a notification on WhatsApp for example, the notification blocks the whole notification bar and stays there for an annoyingly long time So until the bar goes away you can't swipe down the notification bar.
What settings would I need to change in order to fix this? Maybe stop it blocking the whole notification bar every time I get a message. Sometimes I get more than one message in a row so it will be there for a long time.
Phone was working fine all day, just got home and was looking for my headphones so I toggled the flash and noticed my quick settings was different, press the edit button and bam they're missing. especially my data and hotspot I forgot which else ones was there [URL] ...
I just got my new galaxy s6 today and so far everything is good but I can't however access camera settings when I go into camera and click settings it crashes and just goes back to where I would take a picture I've already tried restarting the phone and even clearing cache and my phone is up to date.
I can't seem to find the settings button in the Google app. I want to make some changes to OK Google.I want to enable OK Google from any screen. Even when the screen is locked. I don't want to have to open the Google app or tap on the widget to use OK Google.
What is the best way to back up apps and settings so if I get a new Samsung phone I won't have to re-create my settings and download my apps again? I found Kies and backed up on my Mac. Is that reliable? Is there a way to do it in the cloud like Apple's iCloud? I just switched from t-mobile to Verizon and had to re-create my settings and download my non stock Google Apps again and that was time consuming. My S5 isn't rooted and I don't plan to root it.
Galaxy 5 changes settings on its own. Changes display brightness, alarm time, language, email folder default, you name it!!!!! Is there a way to DEFINITIVELY LOCK the phone to not change anything unless I do it? I click the power button to lock the screen every time I put it in my pocket, but it seems every day it finds something to change that I didn't want. One time it changed the language to Vietnamese. Try fixing your settings when everything is in a foreign language. This phone sucks!
Is there any way we can save our settings on the camera app once we close it? It keeps coming back to default settings once i quit the app and re-launch it. I need to re-adjust again especially the mode, ISO, metering mode. etc,
If not, any alternative app which can fiddle with ISO settings?
I have just moved from S2 to S5 (and love it!) I seem to be missing 1 option tho, on the S2 I would plug to AUX port on car stereo from headphone jack (straight AUX cable - nothing fancy) and could listen to music and hear calls via car speakers, also on the call my phone mic would pick up my voice so with the phone on the dash mount I could easily make/receive calls, on the S5 however the mic seems to be muted when aux cable plugged in (same with headphones) and I have to unplug the cable or headphones to have the recipient hear me, am I missing a setting somewhere?
My husband has the settings on the calendar all messed up .... he originally had my Google outlook calendar and his sync'd on his old S4 phone but his settings are messed up on the New S5 phone and I cant seem to get it corrected, the phone wont sync the calendar at all I've tried to clear the data and cache and stop the app. I don't see anywhere to delete the settings, hitting edit does nothing.
That doesn't work, cache and data clear....I think it might have to do with when we originally set up the phones on mine I told it I didn't want to use the samsung calendar and put in the info for my outlook calendar on my google acct. but I cant get that question about the samsung calendar to come up on his now that its been set up once and it keep telling him to log in to his samsung acct when he tries to sync it?
All manuals refer to the cogwheel on the main camera screen for all the settings and indeed on all sites I see such a cogwheel on the pics..However, I don't have one on my brand new S5....
I want a widget that opens the wifi network selection screen. I have tried Elixir widgets (1 and 2) and power togglea as well as looking for Settings Shortcuts in the widget selection menu from the home screen, all to to no avail. Is there something I've missed with one of these options?
I can receive sms and mms... but I can only send mms. I have tried setting permissions and it all looks good... I can't change APN settings they are greyed out.
Is there any way settings to capitalize the letter I. everytime i text or send an email or anything the letter I is never capitalized is there any way to change that?
Kies has always worked well for me, until I updated my GSII to ICS and updated Kies to the latest version. Now I'm having trouble syncing the GSII with Outlook on my PC as I want.fter the last sync, I find that the contacts on the PC have all duplicated (2 of everything), and the contacts on the phone have all been removed. When I first set up Kies there were options to determine how priorities on new/changed contact records on phone and PC should be resolved. Now I can't find any settings for that. It's just the one 'sync' setting.
This is my first thread and im writing to know if i am the only person who is facing the problem of no being able to access that part of battery setting wherein you get to see the abnormal usage by any app and there a button "Details". Problem that i face is that button 'details' is not click able any more. And since the day it went inactive my battery is draining like crazy. I'll attach pics of same window as well as the processes that's currently running.
Is there a way to change the default 5 min calendar snooze to something else without having to download an app? This is for a S6, my wife has an S4 with latest OS and she has this option.
I have bought a Galaxy S6 Duos yesterday, and flashed XtreStoLite Deo-Mod v2.1 due to battery performance. Everything working just fine but the only thing is that there is no mobile network menu in settings so I can't enable mobile data. I have installed the quick toggle fix by Samsung but still no joy. Searched everywhere on this forum and google,
I have a rooted AT&T S6 and was using Tasker normally, but I decided to clean up/freeze some more system apps, and then I ran into a problem. For some reason, accessibility settings for Tasker become disabled and when I tried to re-enable them, I was prompted with this error message: "Error: "Turn on universal switch. Universal switch does not support the current system language. The text-to-speech language will be set to null, but this might cause unexpected behavior". After hitting "Ok", it would say settings has crashed.
I fixed this by unfreezing Samsung text-to-speech engine. Afterwards, the message about Universal Switch never came up again. This is just an FYI if cannot enable any accessibility settings due to settings has crashed.
