View 1 RepliesI'm eligible to upgrade my HTC EVO LTE and have been thinking of moving to the Samsung S5, but any size limit on notes in the Contacts app is a deal-killer. Samsung started truncating the notes field in the S3 and did the same with the S4. The limit is around 980 characters; see this discussion about the S4 for details: the notes section in a contact is limited in the s4 - xda-developers.
Be sure to try editing larger notes since it might seem like you can import large notes with a contact, but they get truncated as soon as you try to edit them in-app. I'm really hoping that Samsung fixed this in the S5 since it's a serious limitation if you keep detailed notes with your contacts, or import from something like Outlook.
Is anyone else having this problem? You’re talking on the phone, and after 15 minutes, or 14:59, your call gets disconnected, with an "Not allowed" message. Initially, I thought maybe my MfE was trying to sync, since I have set my profile to sync every 15 minutes, but it is also doing that during off peak hours, which is set to sync every hour instead. I even went as far as turning off MfE, and it is still hanging up the phone every 15 minutes.

View 24 Replies View RelatedThat limit does NOT apply to low-cost s40 devices but s60 Symbian phones like my E55.Problem: In Log menu > Call Duration > Total (All) Calls' Duration, the counter CANNOT exceed 99:99:99, which means 100 hours at total. When you have your total call duration counter over 100 hours, the counter returns back to track call durations from zero, 00:00:00.WHY?Symbian lacks most of this basic features when compared to s40 which is a shame!
View 1 Replies View RelatedOkay i have a Lg Banter...of course. well my phone can only hold 100 text in the inbox and 50 in the outbox. i have two friends that have the same exact phone and provider as me and they can get over 200 text in inbox and 100 in outbox. on the specs of the phone it says it can get 300. i know that you can never get true limit but i want to know if there is anyway of increasing it by a hack. i already can hack into the filesystem. If anyone wants to know how to get into filesystem of a banter with bitpim just ask and ill gladly tell you. (quite simple of a fix lol)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI realized that after upgrading to WP 8.1 on my Lumia 1520, the play time for sms ringtone was shortened. My customized ringtone would start cutting halfway through around 4 to 5 sec and that bothers me. Right now I have an 8-second ringtone set for my texts but obviously it doesn't play the whole thing. Is there something I could do in settings that could fix this problem ?

Sometimes I have service and it works fine, but most of the times, either it shows that there is signal but it doesn't call or text(calls don't go through, text can't be sent) or there is no signal whatsoever. Suddenly started this a couple of days ago. Tried, reboot, factory reset, complete wipe with CM12.1 flash instead of stock. No change whatsoever.
I have an S5 which ALL OF A SUDDEN has stopped making a sound when ringing also when texts came through! I have search my self "round the bend", looking for a reason/solution!, to no avail!
I've tried resetting the sound settings, changing the ringtone etc! (when selecting a different ringtone, the phone DOES NOT make any sound then either, whereas, before it would play the tunes as I went through the "ring tone" menu).
The other sounds, ie key pad, internet etc all play sound!
Being aged 39 I wasn't too happy to have a hearing test this week to be told that I am 'borderline' need for the hearing aids! I've been given very strict instructions to 'protect' my hearing (ear defenders whenever using a powertool, turning down the volume on any personal music player, no standing infront of the speakers for 2 hour at a rave!)
Wihtout wanting to get into a debate about EU regulation or what safe volumes are, how I can cap the volume on my iPhone (iPhone 4, latest OS) to a relatively agreed safe limit? I remember that my older iPod Classic had a handy line that you could set the limit to (related, I think, to the FR/EU regulation).
I have found the slider in Settings>Music on the iPhone, how much I need to dial this down for it to be 'safe'. I intend using my noise cancelling headhone more (so I can hear more of the lower volume music)

I have a Galaxy S5 and after upgrading to lollipop I now have text message logging in my recent "calls". Which I have zero interest in having. I've toyed with all the settings and tried some of the tricks that seemed to work in the past (hitting home instead of back not restarting etc) and everytime I so much as close the application it resets back to showing "all" which includes my texts. Is there a way other than downloading an external app to fix this?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI got an early release on the Fitbit Surge. Its awesome so far except my smartphone, a Motorola Droid Turbo, will not currently sync notifications for text and phone calls. I've emailed them asking about the problem. They say it is because "the Fitbit app is not currently supported by the Motorola Droid Turbo." The smart phone compatible list on their website does not show my phone, however the app works just fine and even syncs everything else the surge has to offer. Fitbit says they are working closely with smart phone manufactures to work out the Bluetooth 4.0 problems. The only instance that the I have any trouble is when I check the text and call notifications box in the Fitbit app for my surge.

why Samsung/Google have this ridiculous limit? It is incredibly annoying. I have a 32GB SD card installed with tonnes of space left on it and loads of space on the internal memory too, so why can't I install APPS on it!I have moved as many apps as I can to the SD card, but I am still running out. I shouldn't have this problem, so why is this limitation in place?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Galaxy S5 synchronises with my Outlook contacts (via Microsoft Exchange). On the Galaxy, the notes field in Contacts seems to have a size limitation, and will only show ~1,000 characters, truncating any information beyond that and preventing me from editing or adding information via the handset. This is annoying as many of my contact records contain far more than 1,000 characters of information in the notes field. Any way of removing the size limitation? Alternatively is there some 3rd party application that synchronises seamlessly with Outlook contacts via Microsoft Exchange?
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe S6 is my second Android phone. First was an LG G2. I'm noticing my Exchange contact notes are truncated on the S6. Seems to display first 1000 characters only. My G2 did not exhibit this limitation.
I did some searching around on this subject and it seems to be a common Samsung complaint.
My workaround so far has been to use the Outlook app when I need all notes for a given contact. This workaround is somewhat inconvenient and I'd like to find a better way to natively manage Contacts.
how I resolve the following issue. When opening a new web page I get the message - Window limit reached - can't open a new window until you close one.Honestly, I have only had this phone less than two weeks and I want to throw it against a brick wall!
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis is my first post to this forum and i am really hoping for some help. I have a Nokia 5800 Xpress Music Phone. It is about 7 months old and has developed a really annoying and frustrating fault over the past few days - progressively no getting worse by the hour it would seem. The phone freezes after receiving a text, phone call, internet usage or just generally pressing one of the function buttons. Some times if you wait long enough it does free itself but more often than not it will end up me removing the battery to reset the handset. Nothing appears to work properly on it anymore - the battery appears to drain within hours of charge. Really fed up with it now. Carphone Warehouse and Orange are blamming each other ( no change there). Yes i can take it to a repair centre who will either do it on site ro send away. I have completed a soft reset but has made no difference. I am now tempted to do a complete hard reset once backing up my contents etc
