Samsung Galaxy S II :: 2GB Install Limit For Apps?
Jan 22, 2013
why Samsung/Google have this ridiculous limit? It is incredibly annoying. I have a 32GB SD card installed with tonnes of space left on it and loads of space on the internal memory too, so why can't I install APPS on it!I have moved as many apps as I can to the SD card, but I am still running out. I shouldn't have this problem, so why is this limitation in place?
how I resolve the following issue. When opening a new web page I get the message - Window limit reached - can't open a new window until you close one.Honestly, I have only had this phone less than two weeks and I want to throw it against a brick wall!
I bought the Samsung Galaxy S II and it doesn't have Greek. My question is can i find somewhere or somehow the Greek language so that i can install it and not being in English? If it was for me i wouldn't mind English but its for my father and he preferes having Greek.
Just updated via Samsung Apps the camera firmware to a CDE11 or something version. Took 4 minutes to update and flash this firmware. I wonder what exactly it changed in the camera firmware? Hopefully improved things or bug fixes.I will test a few videos and see if the bitrate has changed or not.
Can I use my PC/Mac to buy and install an application from the Android Market? If so is their an idiot sheet on how to get the app off the computer and onto the SGS2?
The reason I ask is that I'd rather use my computer to buy an application rather than use my phone.
It takes forever for applications downloaded from Google Play to install. One app took over 1 hour to install. This is unacceptable. I have high speed internet access with a high speed dual band wireless Netgear R6 200 smart router.
I have a problem with 3G data usage - going way over. I've installed TrafficStats and can't see anything going over - I've been told that it could be my email being set up wrong but I can't find how to delete the account and start again
Kies tells me I have a firmware upgrade - from the size of download it seems quite major - but it won't install.Initially I found Norton was blocking it and quite proudly telling me so. I ended up uninstalling Norton but having gone through all the steps and downloading the files my PC does not get past 0% on "Firmware upgrade progress" and the mobile just displays a little green android with the message "Downloading . . . Do not turn off target".
I've been trying lately to change the SMS char limit on my phone for a while now, but before I get into that, let me give you some background to why I'm doing this.I use to own a old Samsung phone, I can't remember the model, but I loved that phone! Best phone ever, anyways It had a SMS limit of 160 chars per text which was great, but the phone broke, it got ran over, and ever since I've never been able to get a phone like that one. So I'm using a vice now, and I like this phone as well, but it has a 140 char limit. Now What I'm trying to say is I looking for some support on how I can increase that limit to 160.
I've been looking around, and I'm not trying to put illegal software on the phone, more like modifying the firmware or software on the phone. This isn't a smart phone else I would get some app for it, plus I don't want to pay paying for a data plan for SMS when I have unlimited text messaging on my phone. I know this sounds dumb, why not just send 2 messages, well here the other reason, my friends all have phones that are 160 max, and my phone loves to spit them, and its so hard to read them, and I'm tired of this. This is not a network restriction as they also are on the same network. This is a phone lock down of some kind. Anyways enough ranting for me, this is what I've done so far. I've gotten my computer to read the phone using QPST, I do have the SPC, and I can change the system on the phone. All I need now is someone who knows little more then I do about this, and how I can modify this SMS limit, and make it 160 instead of 140. For both sending and receiving.
Like the subject says: does the Google play store automatically install the arm64 version of apps like Google chrome ? how can I check that? I didn't found anything about it when looking in the "about " section of the settings
I have Runkeeper and Endomondo installed, and they both used to work perfectly, but for some reason they now don't work, they are always 'looking for Satellites' but they now never find them, I don't know what has changed.i have looked at my settings, and uninstalled and reinstalled them to no avail. When I click on Google maps in the same locations, it works fine, so my GPS on the phone works. It also works with Navfree, which confusses me even more!
After syncing my Outlook calendar to the phone, I noticed all my "Subject" data had been cut off at 15 characters on the phone. It even limits me to 15 characters when typing in a new "Event". Any way to change this or am I limited to 15 characters?
How do I back up my apps?I don't understand how Kies work?
Kies doesn't have an option that says it backups apps? Gives me backup options of messages, phone contacts, settings etc but not apps? When I tell the program to back up everything. I just get ONE sbu file? Can I not back up apps individually?Even backed up on SD card is better then nothing?
I got a SG2 from the UK and am now using it in a different country. When I went to Google play, I couldn't download popular apps like Skype, Evernote and Whatsapp. I then went to the actual website and to download the Evernote app but it said that it is not compatible itch my samsung g2. Doyouknow of any way to make it compatible?
Just noticed but my stock music and video player and stock photo gallery don't have access to the pictures music or video stored on my phone. I downloaded several third party apps and can still access the content.
My s2 will let me connect to the internet through the browser no problems but none of the apps that require internet (play store, gmail, facebook etc) will work. Have reset the network settings, restarted my phone and am still stuck.
so i havn't rooted my s2 yet and i am wondering if what i have been doing is the same as "freezing" apps. i have advanced task killer and i opened the 'hub' apps and selected to disable them.
i downloaded modern combat 2. it run for the first time but afterwards anytime i run it gives me an error message saying the process stopped unexpectly. its the same error with some apps too.
my phone does this thing that whenever I download a new app it spreads it to empty pages in the applications tab. Usually it will be done with a page after it has like 5 apps and then starts piling on the next page. Is there anything I can do to merge it all together?
I'm new to smart phones and trying to find my way around them. I had an Orange San Deigo phone and purchased a few apps for it and they ran very well (It's a pity the phone didn't work properly) I was upgraded to the Galaxy S2. I have now tried to install the apps on to the Galaxy but the Galaxy is not recognized in the download screen
