When I try to stick the Direct Dial Widget to a HS it does not stick.
I have to go back to Widgets everytime I add a new DD contact.
I have had this problem with other widgets but there is usually a certain order to make them stick.

Has the add direct dial to homescreen been removed in ICS? Or am I not looking in the correct place?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've had my 9700 probably for about 3 weeks now, coming from the 8900. I know the OS is different, so has the shortcut for profiles changed? With my 8900 I could press F, to get to my profiles. And altho I have disabled dial from homescreen on my 9700, pressing F does nothing, however all other shortcuts worked. Am I missing something?

When the phone drops below 30% of power, however, power saving mode kicks in and this changes to 15 seconds.The problem is, that after I plug the phone in - and thus cancel power saving mode - it sticks at 15s timeout instead of reverting to my 1minute setting?
View 2 Replies View RelatedOver the last week or so, I have been finding it increasingly difficult to send emails from K9 mail. have always had a problem whereby emails go into an "outbox" instead of being sent to my correpsondent when I hit send. I then have to go to the "outbox" folder, bring up the menu and then pres Send Messages. Extremely frustrating in itself, but just about tolerableNow however when I do this I get a notification saying "could not send some messages java.net.SocketException: H". Fpor a while, it would eventually work after 5 or 6 tries, but now just won't send at all.

Part of me is curious in thinking, did Google finally have enough of carrier involvement and lacklustre software updates. Are they trying to retake back their channel and get the store working. We all know Apple's retail model is a direct success. I would love Google to adopt apple's approach and tell the carriers to take it or leave it and sell direct as well.
After the Galaxy Nexus I will admit that i've been turned off Google.
When all the different variants came up like Yakju and Yakjuux etc etc etc I immediately was left with a bad taste in my mouth. Was Google updating this phone, or was it Samsung Canada.
I want this to restore the perception that "Nexus" devices are Google devices, through and though

My wife and I both have the Galaxy S6. Recently, we have been missing many important calls . They seem to go directly to voicemail, despite full bars of reception. The other day I was waiting for an important call from Google Play Support and I had the phone right in front of me and it never rang but I received a voicemail notification.
I have read about some users in Canada having similar problems, but I can't find anything similar for T-Mobile users in the U.S. It seems to have started after the 5.11 update. It also appears to happen more frequently at home, which would suggest that it has to do with being connected to WiFI, since I always have a strong cell signal at home.

View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter upgrading to v40, I've compared the new homescreen to the old homescreen and to the old homescreen with v21-31, these are my findings.
- The old homescreen on v40 does not have the email notification that Nokia introduced a short while ago and which was obviously VERY well recieved globally.
- The new homescreen on v40 has kinetic scrolling contacts which is, um, cute. It has the ability to control the music player (What I found to be very buggy, crashing it by simply pressing 'forward' when it's playing a folder with 1 song).
- The new homescreen on v40 does not have calendar and tasks, probably for the space the new music player-thing takes. This was my FAVORITE thing on the homescreen and I am sure I'm not alone.
I truly hope Nokia addresses these issues by either returning the email notifications to the old homescreen or somehow allowing to see the calendar and tasks on the new homescreen. Or both.

View 3 Replies View RelatedFor a while now I've notice a gradient on the bottom and top of home screen. I first noticed it when I wanted to apply an all black wallpaper, it makes some of the wallpapers I want look weird with the gradient. It doesn't matter which launcher I use, it's always like that. I don't want to reset my phone because I don't want to have to re-download my apps and update them. I'm not sure if it's from the latest update because it wasn't like that when I first got this phone. Also, it's not like that on every page, just the home screen.

The first time this happened to me all my homescreen icons turned into the little android guy but I didn't get to screenshot this.. The only fix was restarting the phone.. View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm going to buy S6 but I would only go for the unlocked/non-carrier version so I'm still waiting. During the time, I try S6/edge several times at Bestbuy and did find something very strange when I swipe the screen left or right. I didn't realize it's the problem(actually I was thinking my finger was too dry) until I tried the S5 right next to it and didn't find anything wrong.
It happens when you swipe left back to Homescreen from magazine app(Flipboard integrated). It's playing animation and don't let you do anything during this animation. So basically if you swipe left twice quickly, it is supposed to go to the second screen on the right but it didn't. That works fine on S5 but not on S6. On S6 the second swipe(or any extra swipe after that but before the animation is over) didn't work and didn't react to your finger until the animation is played completely. I am not sure if it's the problem of display phones or a general problem.
Long time iPhone user and just transitioned to Android. Just got a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and it's been quite a learning experience so far. So is there a way to lock the homescreen and the apps that are displayed there? The wife is having a problem where she can just be holding her phone in her palm and when she looks at her phone the next time, most of her apps are missing. Is there anyway you can lock the apps in place? I know with the iphone there are a few things needed to make apps disappear (hold icon, hit "X", tap on DELETE. All pretty specific spots within the screen that need to be tapped.

Sometimes it opens the calling screen for a millisecond but then reverts back to contacts. On the second try however it does connect the call. The same happens when I'm in the phone dialer. I'll type in the number, press dial and then it just goes back to the dial screen as if I didn't type in anything. After typing in the number and pressing dial a second time does the phone actually call the number.
It also sometimes happen that the phone will call (showing calling), but the call never connects. After ending the call and redialing does the call go through and connect.
I have a brand new ozone that I need to program for Pageplus. I need to dial *22890, but I can't dial. The phone prompts me to hit the send key which dials *228, which does me no good. Is there any way to make this thing dial the number I need?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got the Galaxy S5 and cannot figure out how to suppress the red Facebook indicator bubble (this probably has a name) that shows on the Facebook app icon on the home screen when there has been some sort of activity. Under Application Manager, Facebook...the Show Notification box is unchecked.
I've also tried Settings, Sounds and notifications, Facebook and turned On the Block all notifications. Still getting the bubble!
I set the homescreen on my S2 but every time I press the square button the option returns and I cant find a way of deactivating it. I kill the app but this does not resolve the issue and neither does wiping the phone and starting again.

I can't access my setting menu, press the left "button" and the settings option is there I press it and the menu pops up for about a second then goes back to the home screen, if I go in through apps menu its the same, its a stock S2 about a month old on T mobile uk.
