Why might my S5 contact list be getting scrambled?
The first letters of the contacts are displaced from the letter designations of the list. A, B, C etc.
I lost at least one contact.
Duplicates of the same contact now started showing up. When I deleted one, they both deleted.
Checked for updates last night and woke up this morning with a notification that an OTA update is available for T-Mo. I went ahead and let the phone update this morning and it took about an hour. so i just went to send a text message just now and i type the person's name in that i want to send it to and notice there are duplicate entries in my phone book! What gives?! Can someone help me out here as to getting back single contact entries? NOTE: NOT ALL CONTACTS WERE DUPLICATED. NOTE: I was currently operating on the .586 OS now i'm at the most current version .7something

Have searched a lot about this problem, but looks like nobody has faced this before.hen I open my contact list (or the message list) and then press the back button, they don't close. I have to press the home button to come out of them forcefully. I then can kill the messaging app by going in task manager but there is no such option for contact list. This problem occurs only for contact list and message list. Rest all apps I am able to close by pressing back button.

I restored the data . Which was successful Now the problem is that when I start setting of google sync thru my email set up duplicates appear of all contact entriesI have gone and deleted these thru contact --> options --> rest and deleted the contact list. But when I enable sync then again 2 lists appear n the entries of contacts duplicate.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi have the curve 8530 and there is a new gmail thing, where it ask's you if you want to sync your contacts to gmail account. DON'T DO IT. i did it and two things happened:
1.contact name duplicates
2.numbers re-arranged (other people's number's under the wrong people etc.)
what i did was put all my 'un-messed up' contacts in Microsoft outlook and went to the Verizon store, they told me about the gmail problem, and they are sending me a new phone. when i get it i will use desktop manager to put all those contacts from Microsoft outlook and put them on my new phone.i suggest everyone with this problem, do it.

View 9 Replies View RelatedThe s6 " do not disturb" feature only mute instead of blocking (rejecting the call) while the "call rejection" feature blocks only unknown numbers and by unknown it means only the hidden calls (when no number is shown).
Did i miss any feature which can block any number which is not in my contact list? If there is no more such a feature as s3, any recommended app for S6?
When I try to make a call from my Samsung Galaxy 5, I click on the phone icon, it then gives me a message that my contacts have stopped. The message goes away and my phone goes back to home screen. I can't make any calls. I can receive a call and text. When I text the contact list comes up, but not when I try to make a call. Is there a setting I should look for that I may have accidentally overrode or deleted?

Most of the unused calendars are duplicates, I can check or uncheck them but NOT remove them.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 5800 that I have been troubleshooting for the past Month. We have been to the provider who has now replaced the phone twice in the past two months. Calling out appears to be fine. However when customizing the phone I am unable to set picture and a ringtone to a contact in the contact list. The Contact is saved on the phone. When the person dials in the picture will display correctly but the ringtone will play a default ring not a custom file as selected. This has heppened on all 3 of the phones. I am down to the OS of the phone which the provider says is up to date.

After finishing the call, the screen goes back to main menu.... but the contacts-app sticks active in the background. In order to close that, i have to long-press the button, switch to contacts, and close. Which is a little bit fussily.....

Context:I have 2 primary sources of contact information on my blackberry, my personal (gmail contacts) and my work contacts (via google apps). I would like to keep these contact lists separate and apart from one another, but accessible if required. However, as this device is primarily for work, I'd like to not have my personal contacts appearing every time i open the Contacts app. The effect I am trying to achieve is after opening contacts --> click menu --> click "Select Contact List..." --> and choosing one.Is there a way to save this as a preference/default so I don't have to filter each time i open my contact list?
I do not understand how to get from "contact history" to my regular contact list.

Most of them are going through fine, but a few are either not delivered (although it says on my end it has been delivered) OR they're getting scrambled. For example, I'll write something and when I see the message on my recipients phone, it's coming through with half my message and then gibberish. I compare it to my original sent message and it's completely different. It's almost as if my message has been intercepted/crossed with someone elses message.

View 1 Replies View RelatedUp until the day before yesterday (with no iOS updates in the interim), I was able to use my iPhone 3GS (iOS 5.1) as a mobile security key with my PayPal account - when I want to log in to my Paypal account or make a payment, a confirmation code is sent by SMS to my phone. This has all been working nicely and adds a layer of security to the use of my Paypal account. Until this morning when I went to make a payment and the SMS arrived but was totally scrambled. Instead of the usual "Your 6-digit code is....." message, it's all wacky characters like upside-down triangles, and characters from other languages like Greek and Russian. Tried turning phone off and on again and re-adding to Paypal account but problem persists. Googling indicates that this may be a problem with iPhone interpreting SMS rather than Paypal sending rubbish, however I can't find anything more recent than 2009 on this problem.

recently started to get this on my N5, won't turn 'on' just displays a scrambled screen for a short time, won't start up at all. Weirdly gets somewhere to allow the notification light to show, but can't call the phone.
Tried the holding vol up / down for periods of time. Any other way to factory reset in the hope its not a screen issue?
I have a Nokia N95 and when i go to my contacts none of the contacts appear and there is no "options" just "exit". The numbers are still in my simcard or phone as when people call me their name still appears. I just cannot see anyone's number. Can someone help me?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI own a BB bold 9700 and last night I exchanged phones with a friend, the sim and memory card was removed and then reinserted back in, when i turn on the phone, I realised that all my contacts were gone. I don't know what happened? Those that has to do with a different sim card inserted into the phone? Is it some kinda BB security lockdown software? I'm using the Celcom-Vodafone (Malaysia) package. I spent hours and hours putting all of my numbers in by hand and all was well. After I did that, I added my Yahoo email account to the phone. Now the phone numbers I hand puched are gone and all of the contacts are from the email account. My call log lists the names of the people who have called me, so I know the info is somewhere on the phone but I can't find it. I even deleted the email account, but the Yahoo cantacts are still there and the others are still not.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSomehow when I sync my Bold 9700 to my Outlook for Mac (which is linked to my Google mail account), the contacts in my device are duplicated as part of a Contact List that I never created. What's even weirder is that the name of that contact list is named with another email address, which was once from one of my contacts. Confusing?
Anyway, I cannot find anywhere in Outlook or Google, or on my device, an option to remove the bogus contact list.
