Nokia :: E72 Voice Recorder Has Limited Recording
Feb 12, 2010I am looking to get an e72 for work and wanted some help re the voice recorder function. I do a lot of interviews in the course of my work and find it handy to use my mobile as a backup voice recorder in case my dictaphone fails (which does happen every now and again). My current phone is OK for this as the voice recording is in mp3 format and is decent quality with no restriction on length of recording. My previous phone had a 2 minute time limit which made it useless.
None of the reviews or tech specs that I have found detail the voice recording on the e72. Could someone who has the phone do me a huge favour and check this for me. What format does it record in? What is the quality like if the phone is on a conference table, could I realistically expect it to record a few voices at up to 2m away? Is there any time limit? Is it easy to transfer to PC and play in windows media player if necessary?

Nov 22, 2011I want to record certain calls on my nokia c7, although I can do this by traversing to menu->office --> voice recorder to record the conversation, but it quite tedious and time consuming process traverse to voice recorder during conversation.. Is there any what to add voice recorder as single click option doing the conversation?

Whenever I make a call normally, the voice can be heard on the earpiece & very clearly on the loudspeaker also - AT THE SAME TIME...When I turn on the speaker phone on, then the loud speaker gets activated & is loud, which is normal of any phone. Is this a problem with my handset or a feature given by Nokia that the Earpiece & loudspeaker will function at the same time?

Dec 26, 2011i got my phone about 2 months ago. it worked fine for about a month, and then, just like that, it started to freeze in the middle of the recording for about 2-3 secs, then started rec ok, and agaian freezed for 2-3 secs and so on. After i downloaded the movie and played it, it played the same as the recording(with the freezed sections, but with sound). I checked the sw version(the last one), i changed the card, i formatted it. The problem(for now) is solved by taking down the recording quality, but i dont want this to be a permanent solution.

I was not in the text app and recording a video as of I were going to send it, but rather the normal camera mode. Is this the default? If so, can it be changed? Oct 6, 2011I've been using my Nokia C5-00 for about a year now without any problems. Recently however, it started to show wrong time (like it was going too fast). The offset is usually about 15-30 minutes forward. Initially I thought that its just few seconds per minute faster than it should be (like a normal mechanism watch) and I tried to explain it with processor clock being somehow off, but I noticed that it must at one point just skip these several minutes.
I've never spotted this "skipping" explicitly but it happens once per 10-15 hours, I guess. E.g. it shows proper time the whole day and when I go to sleep but next morning its off several minutes. It happens both with automatic time update On and Off. I haven't updated my software for a couple of months now, but the one I got is up to date (according to Ovi).

Nov 5, 2010When is the patch anticipated for our C5's to fix the broken clock problems?If it just displayed the wrong time it would be one thing, but since it affects the ordering of text messages displayed et al, it's a bit more of a catastrophic issue.
Others have reported that hard resetting the device only lasts momentarily and that the bug is pretty fatal.

Aug 12, 2010Had my C5-00 for a week or so now and all been ok except this morning. The time reset itself to 1am and the date to yesterday. I took off the auto clock and set it myself with the correct date. 15 or so minutes later it reverted back to 1am (but today's date this time)
I have now turned it off and back on and set the time/date (which it asks on 1st boot every time! Strange) and set it back to auto-update.
As of now it is keeping its time/date but seems strange. I have tried the phone update but it says everything is up-to-date.
