I have looked through countless forums and documentation and can not find any definitive answer as to whether or not a Blackberry smartphone can, via WiFi, can connect to a VPN without BES. All documentation and How-To's point in the direction of BES to answer all my questions.
What I would like is a yes or no answer. Does the Blackberry support VPN to a Microsoft VPN server via L2TP or PPTP without BES? To be even more specific: Can I connect, without BES, with EAP-SIM authentication via IKE-V2 protocol, via a VPN connection?
I actually have looked at a lot of the documentation and my gut feel is that it is not possible, but I need confirmation so that I can inform my company of the Blackberry's feature set and limitations.
Has any one been able to connect the 5330 mobiletv edition to his/her TV set? Tried it with a Nokia AV cable and got NO results. Does this phone support TV out?
In Costa Rica we have 3G UMTS 850. I research BB Storm 2 and I am sure I saw that it has UTMS 850. Today I went to our provider (ICE) and they told me that Storm 2 is not umts 850 capable. SO anyone can confirm if it is or NOT. Can I change firmeware or get other type Storm or?? I really like Storm and would like to make it work. I have Storm 2 9550 and Storm 9530 now.
I have been searching high and low for what different international bands/frequencies the Razr Maxx and Droid 4 will really support. what bands these phones will actually work on when traveling internationally? Since they contain a 4G/LTE sim card, does that mean when you are in country with something less than VZW's 4G/LTE, will the phone drop down to a more universal band like HSPA (HSDPA, HSUPA and HSPA+) and/or GSM (GPRS, Edge, E-Edge) and/or UMTS/WCDMA. Just trying to understand what a 'Global Capable' phone really means when we talk about the Razr Maxx what it will do when traveling abroad.
I have had a rather random note added into my notes application on my iphone 3gs 16gb. I didn't write it and no one else had access to my phone at the time. It read like an personals advert, seeking sexual partners! Are there any viruses that are capable of doing this? if so, what else can it do? and how do i remove it?

Upgraded to iOS5.1 and where my phone said 3G it now says 4G (At&t phone).. Why do this if apparently the current 4S models are not capable of 4G technology?
Problem: My main objective is to use a motorola droid 2 and an ipad to share internet connection. The droid will provide the internet connection to the ipad through bluetooth. I have read in only two places that this is possible, and without any downloaded applications on either side. I can connect the two devices together using bluetooth and they seem to be communicating. The ipad displays the bluetooth sign and the interlocking chain links that indicate data transfer. the droid shows a stable bluetooth connection as well. everything seems to work great right? Well after using the ipad for say a speedtest or two (2mbs or so) using the droids internet connection, a problem occurs on the droid. the 3g data connection to verizon becomes disconnected and the icon disappears. Then the 3g data restarts and the icon reappears, a couple seconds later it disconnects again and the cycle continues in an infinite loop. Meanwhile the ipad is receiving no data through the bluetooth connection. The only way to stop the 3g data cycling is to disconnect the bluetooth link between the two devices, after that the droids 3g connection becomes stable. i have many hypotheses but ill disclose those later. By the way i've looked everywhere for an answer to this and nobody, and i mean nobody seems to ask about this problem. either they don't have this problem or they don't even do this kind of thing. I've factory reset my motorola droid 2 global and done many restarts with no gain. it is unrooted fyi.
The descriptions state that the Flipout has Flash Lite 3, while I cannot get anything that uses flash to work. And, Adobe says my device is not flash capable, but motorola says otherwise. Why???
Okay, the video problem only happens when I use High resolution Video Mode( Tv and Widescreen Mode). It always lags when I play it. What happened? Is my phone capable to play High Res Video?
When I connect through USB port to recharge, I get a message on the blackberry that says something to the effect: "The device you are connected to is not capable of charging your battery." I am able to charge by connecting directly to the 115 V AC plug but not via computer.
I have a Blackberry 9300 which normally downloads at ~120kb/s, but during the last two weeks it doesn't want to go faster that 5kb/s. I've already tried the battery pull, I am in a 3G capable zone and all my bars are full.
I have a Torch 9860, and just completed another backup using BlackBerry Protect. This is not my first backup, FYI.And the strange this is every time I login to protect.blackberry.com, my device is not shown.
How do I sync files between my blackberry and my pc, I have dragged the files from my pc into the files window in BlackBerry Desktop Software, but they dont appear on the phone.
I've tried So many times to get a Blackberry ID but each time i saved, I got this exasperating message, The password you have entered does not meet either the length or character requirements. Please enter a password that has a minimum of 6 characters? What should I do? I tried both using my mobile as well as my laptop.
I have a blackberry ID but whenever I try to log into It , it first says "authenticating". ThEn it says "error has occured. Please try again later". I've tried resetting the catch. And deleting the iD and creAting a new onE. And pulling out the battery.mostly everything. It lookS hopeless
I got my 850 back out, and it's clear the keyboard and mouse are far superior to anything any company makes or has ever made for real typing. So I thought ... I wish I could activate this thing for email or chat or something. I thought about 3 things - in order of most optimal first:
1) Find a way to have it use an internal 802.11g modem, so that it becomes an internet wireless device, or if it's easier a GSM SIM card.
2) Find a DATATAC to 802.11g gateway device to plug into a normal wireless router.
3) Find a way to convert it into a bluetooth keyboard (why not, it's better as simply a keyboard and mouse than anything I could find after a few hours of searching and looking.
Has anyone ever heard of anyone trying to do a little hw/sw conversion? I searched but I can't find anything like this online.Maybe another option is RIM sells the rights to the devices and software for the 850/950 to the Chinese who make lots of devices for cheap and they manufacture it as a cheap text / mail messaging device to sell to people who have real work to do but want to type at 40 WPM with no repetitive stress rather than the finger-aching motions now that get you 15 WPM on all existing thumb boards.
Anyway who has used these keyboards can testify to the speed and ease of typing, even if they don't sport a browser, phone and other things I could live with.I've had recent model blackberries and every model of iphone and many many different models of phones, pages, etc. It was never much better than when I had a cell phone smaller than a credit card from Hong Kong and my RIM 850.
2nd best setup I had was also a blackberry, but again with that sort of solid Germanic engineering - this time from a Siemens SK65. Sometimes I consider just getting a cheap SIM card for text messaging and pulling it out of the closet because it was still far better than any existing keyboard though nothing of the elegant beauty of the RIM 850 or RIM 950.
I'm traveling to Cuba with a group of friends and family. A number of us have blackberries, none of us have full data plans but rather social networking plans (e.g.. BBM, fb, twitter). I'm wondering if we can talk to each other while all being in Cuba without extra costs. Also keeping in mind about the ability to turn off roaming.
What do yhu do to a BB that BIS cannot be activated on...every network available has been used to try it out, still, to no avail...series of battery pulls/hard resets have been done...millions of security wipes have been done.
We have several blackberry users who continually have to validate their account using owa connecting to a windows sbs 2008 system with exchange 2007. All other phones can easily connect and owa works perfectly on remote computers. The certificate is also up to date.
I have a Bold 9700 and am on Virgin Mobile but have not yet been able to receive OS 6. Is there any way I can legally access the new software which will work in the UK and not brake my phone?
