View 2 Replies View RelatedCan anyone tell me if it is possible to set up email after a security wipe. I am trying to set it up through the set up wizard but when I click on email accounts my blackberry freezes and I am then required to do a battery pull.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDespite performing a security wipe I am still experiencing constant freezing of my phone, especially with the calendar. I suspect it may be an application that is causing the issue. During backup and restore I didn't delete any applications.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI performed a security wipe after backup. After performing security wipe I am unable to register the handset to my wireless network. So i am unable to receive / send emails. I am able to make calls and send sms. My host routing table has no entries.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI decided to back up my data because I wanted to security wipe my phone and just restore the really important files I have. I security-wiped my phone just now because it's lagging a lot and I'm trying to set up my BBM. It's leading me nowhere but a message saying "Associating BBM with your Blackberry ID". It's been at it for hours and I'm really frustrated that I regret wiping it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI did a security wipe on my Blackberry Bold 9900. I have managed to restore everything, however I cannot seem to set up my email address (which is a Yahoo address). I keep getting the error message that it has not been possible to connect to the server.
I have also foun a problem with my BBM, I am able to send messages, but no one can send any to me. This problem has also come about after the security wipe.
Much to my absolute horror, my 9-year old son handed me my phone with the message 'Wiping' on the screen with a progress bar - Daddy what is this? Oh my God!!! All of my Contacts were permanently lost and I had to set up my phone from scratch again - out of box. I'm guessing it's because he tried to guess my password again. The last time he tried to guess my password about 6 months ago, the phone did not Wipe itself out. Why it would wipe itself out is totally ridiculous. If a would-be thief actually somehow guessed my password, he deserves to have my Contacts, as I choose a password that cannot be guessed. It's up to the user how secure they want their phone by choosing a password of a certain level. It's not up to RIM to choose DEFCON 1 as soon as someone exceeds the number of retries set. It makes me want to get rid of my Blackberry altogether and get a phone that has a more reasonable security measures sequence of events. At the very least, there should be some kind of warning on the screen upon enabling the 'Password Lock' feature that states, 'the phone will be wiped if the number of retries is exceeded, it is highly recommended to Backup your Data using the Blackberry Manager PC software, in order to allow your phone to be quickly configured back to the state of when you backed it up, in the event a security wipe is activated'. I learned later that this was in the manual, but who actually reads the manual? I don't even know where my manual is. If I had known this, I would have most definitely backed it up. I think that since I'm basically starting from scratch, I may as well get another phone, but not one that has this ridiculous feature like Blackberry's.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've had my blackberry for about 10 months and had no previous problems however all of a sudden it has started rebooting randomly on its own. I have read through forums etcetc and done resets and a security wipe and still the problem persists, unbelievably irritating as it is about the 9th time today it has rebooted on its own.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes it do the same thing as say, jlcmdr? Upgrades would be a lot easier if I could do half the work on the phone itself.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy BlackBerry Bold 9900 has been giving me some problems lately, so I backed up all my data and attempted a security wipe.
After erasing all the contents, my phone's screen just turned white without any error message.
Even after performing a hard reset, my phone still turns white.
how can I restore my phone back?
I just bought a Storm, second hand, and the Security Wipe had been performed. Everything works great, except I cannot get it to recognize my email settings. I have set up several phones in the past without any problems, and am using the same settings I have always used, yet it will not recognize them. Is this due to the Wipe that was performed?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy company had a planned upgrade of our system. I had to wipe my phone and reactivate as a result. Before I did I downloaded Blackberry desktop and backed up my phone. When I went to restore there were two options a complete restore that would put everything back to how it was and a custom restore. I think I can't choose the complete restore since that would remove the company's intended changes changes. If I choose custom restore the password file is grayed out. A note at the bottom tells me the grayed out items are read only data types and cannot be restored. Does anyone know how to restore my data.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHow do I get my email up and running after my mobile has had a security wipe? View 2 Replies View RelatedBefore I start, I want you to know a few things about me. I am an IT Professional with lots of experience so please note that I am not a novince when replying to this message. I have the following certifications:Microsoft Certified IT Professional (Windows 7, Server 2008, Exchange 2007)Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA),MCDST, MCSE, Network +, Security + That said, my loyal Bold 9650 keeps hanging. I first went to 'Options' and did security wipe after backing it up. the same issue persist. I did this again for like four times but still the same thing. Then I proceeded and used BBSAK to do a complete device wipe and the problem persists. Usually the phone behaves well after the OS is installed but shortly after then, the same problem surfaces again even before connecting my BIS data. The OS installed on it is 6.0 Bundle 3084 (v6.0.0.719, Platform 4.4.0.560)
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf an user loses his device and the password is entered wrong 10 times the device wipes itself and the password will be erased too so the phone could be used like new.
Is there any way to prevent security wipe from deleting the device password? Is there any way to disable security wipe? (Maybe finding and deleting the .cod file)
2 days ago my friend brought his 9700 for me to upgrade OS. I used security wipe, then tried using BBSAK to wipe the OS and it asked for password. Then I used AppLoder to install the new OS and it asked for password again.
Why didn't security wipe delete the device password this time?
I needed to do a security wipe on my phone, I wanted it back to factory settings, like right out of the box. I was running OS 5.0.0.419, and went to Options > Security > and used the Security Wipe option. I chose to wipe contacts, emails, and device data. I did not choose to wipe the media/sd card though. Only device memory was to be wiped.I see the "Erasing information... Warning: Do not pull the battery out until erasing is complete" message, but it has been going on for about 2 hours now. Should it be taking this long?
I see the hourglass spinning, then it disappears, then in a bit comes back...I read online that it normally takes about an hour to do this, but I'm going on 2 hours now and it's still isn't finished. What would happen if I removed the battery while it's in the middle of this? I can't tell if it's frozen up or not, I've never seen it take this long to do a wipe.
I was playing around wiht my 8120 pearl and the security option password on it. I went over the 10times limit and it erased my phone and went back to factory settings.
Does anyone konw how to get all my contact and previous info... and i know, i should of backed it up on my comp, but i didn't.
I've accidentally wiped my brand new Bold 9790 by a mistake after 10 times password try.It seems that I have lost lots of things on it which I cannot remember all of them, but at least I can remember I had "Advanced system setting" or something like that, and "BlackBerry Device Analyzer" and as far as I know two different part for checking Battery status. What should I do to or what I have to do to restore them or to get these back? I also wonder where I can see what I had at the beginning in all tabs and menus and in each part?
View 9 Replies View RelatedJust been given a Curve 8520 by my son, lucky me. When he gave it to me it had all of his settings for a different network and wifi settings. So i thought it would be easier to do a full wipe and start a fresh. However since doing this i have no email setup and no option to update software or wifi .I have tried downloading new software but it gets to the" Check for updates screen" and goes no further. I have to close it down and restart the computer. I have left this to run for over 3hours thinking it may work but to no avail. I have tried it with desktop software running and without, with and without a sim card.
