I'm heading overseas in a few weeks and, given the per minute rate for calls, would love to turn off the calls (so they go straight to voicemail), but still have the phone on with access to the internet, train schedules, etc. Please tell me my smart phone is actually smart enough to do this.

Is there a way to have the iPhone (4S) automatically enable Bluetooth ONLY when I'm in the car and I hook up the phone, and to have it automatically disable Bluetooth when I disconnect and leave the car? The idea is that I will ONLY ever need/want Bluetooth active when in the car.
Similarly, is it possible to have the iPhone disable wifi when I'm away from my home wifi environment and enable it again when back home? I'm specifically looking for a solution that is automatic and that requires NO human intervention each time.
I can't swear that this applies to the Droid X² too. But it definitely does to the Droid X.For those Droid X owners without a Verizon Unlimited Data plan, this may be of interest, since the Verizon's new tiered data pricing structure just went into effect.

I take the train from Baltimore to DC every day, and w/my OG Droid, never had problems, even if one or two location only seemed to have 1x available. With my Bionic, however, I am frequently dropping my data connection completely (moreso than it seems when I bought the phone in September -- not 100% sure since I wasn't paying close attention to it those first couple weeks).For the heck of it, I thought I report it on twitter and see what kind of response I would get from @VZWSupport. (I always get better Comcast support from their twitter folks than from my local office).Got a response (see attached graphic).They told me to enable data roaming. Really? Anybody had success with that? I'm worried about running up a huge bill.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an LG G3 and I was having some issues with the audio jack on it. I contacted LG and they said that since it is still under warranty I can mail it out to them, but my phone will be away for at least a week. I get called frequently from my work and thought if I set up Google Voice on it perhaps I would be able to at least receive messages on our Samsung Tab S 10.5. I went to Google Voice and set it up using my existing number with the Google Voice on Sprint.
It went through no problem, I was able to verify the phone and everything. Thing is, my fiance and I share the same tablet and when I looked at the call forwarding email, I realized it was to my fiance's email and not to me. I had accidentally signed up for Google Voice for my phone under his email account. So I went to disable Google Voice on Sprint after waiting 15 minutes or so for all the services to fully implement and tried to set it up under my email. I got to the verifying the phone number part, hit call me now, and nothing would go through. I tried several times and still nothing. I tried making a call from my phone and it says "we could not complete your call, please try again".
I called Sprint and explained everything to them. We went through several steps of resetting and reactivating the phone and still nothing. Whenever somebody tries to call me they get the same message "we could not complete your call, please try again." It shows that I'm connected to the network service no problem on Sprint's end and that something with Google Voice is locking me out. What am I supposed to do? I've gone through both my fiance's and my account and removed all traces of my phone number, hoping that I would be able to reset it but still nothing.
Both accounts for Google Voice say that we need to get a Google number and that there is no number associated with either accounts. I really don't know what to do as my phone is doing the lights on nobody home sort of thing. I can still use the internet with wifi no problem and can even use the mobile data to do searches on the Internet, I just can't make or receive calls or messages.
I;ve justed noticed that Stamina on my mobile is not working properly IE it does not disbable WiFi or Mobile Data when the screen is off/

Is there a way to keep the local iPhone's datas when disabling their cloud synchronizations (e.g., Office 365 Exchange for Notes)? I noticed if disabling this cloud synchronization, there is a message that says it would delete the local copies. How does one JUST disable the online synchronizations and still keep the local copies (still keep on computers with iTunes's local backups)? I don't want the clouds anymore.Â

All the tutorials online seem to suggest I should turn off the "mobile network" just to be sure, but then I cant get calls or texts.Can anyone confirm that using hotspot browser 100% I won't use my data?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI live outside the US and own a Blackberry Bold 9700 which has Blackberry Enterprise Service; I recently purchased a Bold 9930 unlocked from verizon in the US and wish to use it instead of my old 9700. How can I go about switching the Blackberry service from my old phone to my new 9930?
I am able to make calls with the 9930 but have been unable to activate the Enterprise service on it. I have tried using the desktop software to switch devices but that seems to have only transfered the data from my old phone to the new one.
I have been monitoring my E75 for a while now (>2 months), and it seems with the firmware 202.12.01, the ongoing call (conversation) will get drops whenever there is mysterious 3.5G data connectivity in the background. I have checked all the settings available and has set to 'always ask' before connecting to ISP 3/3.5G data connection. I am unable to determine which application is the culprit for the connectivity whenever it occurs. All I can see under connection wizard is that there is 3/3.5G data connection with traffic growing whenever there is a call drop. As there is no newer firmware than 202.12.01, wondering if anyone else is experiencing similar issue.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've noticed on my 4 that when I'm in a call holding the phone to my ear the touchscreen periodically enables. I can see this specifically at night when I can see a flash of light from the screen. I've had it several times that during one of these times when the screen enables I've ended up hitting the speaker button w/ the side of my face which is quite annoying.
Never noticed this on my first gen iPhone or on my 3GS.Anyone else noticed this or had this issue? Really annoying to be having a conversation and all of the sudden the convo is on speaker.
My i phone 5s had all text, calls and data blocked for about 5 hours. While the phone still had service it would not perform any of the mentioned functions. Is there a way to retrieve the texts and phone calls that were sent during this time.

So i've been using att for about two months now since switching from Verizon. Everything was fine at first but recently i would say within the past month i've been dropping calls and having problems with the data services. I'll be streaming slacker radio and all of a sudden it stops and i have to reboot to get it working again. The dropped calls thing is pretty much random. Im running 5.0.0.405.
Anyone else having this problem? I mean the whole surfing while talking thing is nice but if this keeps up im going to have to just bite the bullet pay the early term fee and switch back!

It worked always properly but since yesterday I can no longer receive and make calls.When I try to make calls the message to deactivate before airplane mode appears, even if airplane mode is absolutely not selected.Data connection is also out of order but WIFI and bluetooth are working fine.i think it is a software issue, I tried to do everything, resting, extracting the sim card, rebooting but nothing changes.Yesterday Whilst I was using a navi app. it startet to have malfunctions with the application and later I could no longer call.
