I get a "download failed" error when I download any type of file (tried, MP3, MP4, WAV, AVI etc) from the internet. I am able to download apps and other phone software. A friend says someone he know had the same problem with his Torch.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAs you already know, the ring volume on the Torch 9800 is extremely low. So I tried to email custom mp3 ringtones to my phone to use instead. In attempting to do so, I received a message saying "More request cannot be completed. Service book information not found." I also received this message when trying to email a photo to my blackberry. This never use to happen in past blackberries I have owned.
How do I fix this "service book information not found" issue ?
Since my successful pushed software update, My Bionic has tried to download some update (that I have no idea what it is, I can't see it), the download failed two times. Now I am getting an Authentication Error from My E-Mail Provider.

In the menu there is a icon called App Shop and when I access it an error message "failed to download catalogue" appears whether by wifi or internet connection. I realise that the playnow website is for getting apps ,games,music etc so is this app shop function no longer in use? or do I have a problem? If this app shop icon is indeed defunct then is there a way to delete it ? I have updated all my software and also used the update phone function to check firmware and all was ok.

Problem is this: whenever I download a file on my BB, whether I'm in the browser or in App World, the download goes like this: download a few KB, stop, clock symbol appears, download resumes for another few KB, stop again, clock symbol, etc.Downloading a typical 1 MB file can take a long time because of all these pauses. View 1 Replies View RelatedI cannot begin to tell you the frustrating experience I have had trying to load Ovi Maps 3.03 onto my N97. Suffice it to say that every step of the way has been a painful experience that has seriously threatened my loyalty to a brand that I have always been loyal to. I'm still not there yet. Having followed instructions and loaded the latest version of firmware (20.0.019) via my PC, the automatic loading software then loaded version 3.01 of Ovi Maps (WHY wasn't 3.03 loaded? - it's the latest version!). I proceeded to the Software Updater app on my PC to upload the latest version (3.03). It did recognize the latest version and proceeded to download the software to my PC for installation onto my phone. During the upgrade to my phone, the installation failed and a message appeared "Installation failed 6:19".
I tried to install again, but using the updater app on my PC, it doesn't recognize the need for an upgrade to 3.03 (does it think the upgrade has worked?). Back to my phone to try using the software updater app installed there. It does recognize the fact that a later version of Ovi Maps is available and allows me to try and install it, and a message appears "Installing Ovi Maps with free navigation (1 of 1)", however seconds later another message appears "Result: 1 update failed View update history". Clicking on the View bit helpfully takes me to the log, which unhelpfully shows the message "Ovi Maps with free navigation Installation failed at 6:25" and NO OTHER information about why the installation failed or what to do to recover it. So now I am stuck with an updater on the PC which doesn't recognize the need to do an update and an updater on the phone, which does recognize the need, but fails EVERY time.
Just wondering if your bold drops calls as frequently as mine does. it seems that sometimes the phone decides to act up and gives me a 'call failed' message whenever i try to make a phone call. I always check how many bars i have and its usually at 4 or 5. sometimes a battery pull fixes this, but other times, the problem is persistent. my old bold 9000 had the same problem, so i'm not sure if it's at&t or blackberries in general.

I removed the Pool game app from my phone (made by miniclip) and it seems to stop the miniclipld.txt from downloading but the other one I cannot stop!!!

but if you download with uc browser first and then use the upload to skydrive feature in uc browser you can download to you reader of choice from there all without going near your pc
Whenever I attempt to download a file through the stock web browser (i.e. an .iso file, .nzb file) which is not compatible with the bundled office suite, I often find that my download either fails or is somehow corrupted. The problem is solved by installing a third party bloatware browser (i.e. firefox) to download files with.
