All of my other blackberrys have come out of sleep mode when removed from the blackberry proximity holster. My brand new 9810 does not. It comes out with the blank (sleep) screen and I have to click one of the buttons to wake it up.
View 2 RepliesI've been using my Torch for 6 months now, and it has been working fine with the Holster (its a flip case) Everytime I close, it will auto go to sleep mode. However, since last week, the phone doesn't go to sleep when I close the flip case. I think it doesnt detect the magnet anymore. I check the Holster and the magnet is still there. I use another magnet to run it over the Torch but the phone just doesn't go to sleep mode. I've pulled the battery out and even tried with other casing, it just doesn't work anymore.

I have spent all last night trying to find the option of AUTO SLEEP / key lock when in holster but to no sign of option any ideas or is it now an APP i need to buy? very lost and dissapointed if so can any one help thanks.using side button to lock key pad but was very happy with it locking when put away.
View 10 Replies View RelatedIf I use the holster that came with my 9930, it goes into sleep mode like it is supposed to, but I don't like that holster. It's too difficult to remove the BB from those holsters, when you grab it to slide it out, you also push the volume up key.I prefer the face-in spring loaded belt holster like I used with my Bold 9650. I am using ones designed for the Bold 9000 and they fit, but the holster sleep mode doesn't work. I tested the holsters with an old 9000 and they do work correctly, but no luck with the 9930 - as if the magnets are in a different location.

My old holster is finally giving in after 5 years and I can't find a replacement.The new holsters advertised for the Torch - DO NOT WORK!!!! The magnet is in the wrong place. Sure, it sleeps the phone on the way in but when the phone is fully inserted into the holster, the phones lights back up. It passes the magnet on the way down and then thinks it has been pulled out and lights back up.

I've have a Bold 9000 for a long time and am used to dropping it into my belt case or pouch and having it turn off and go into in-holster mode. When I put the Torch in my 9000 cases it doesn't seem to do anything. Did RIM remove the magnet sensor and no longer have an in-holster mode? Or is the sensor in a different place and it won't work with my Bold cases? Am I missing something? I don't like having to click the lock button on the top before dropping into the case.

I have pulled the battery and it will work for a few hours but then it stops again. I am trying to avoid pulling the battery every 8 hours. I have read online that the problem might be related to my transferring some old BB 5 settings to my new phone but don't know how to undo this.

On my Bold I could set one ringtone for In Holster @ one volume and a different ringtone @ a different volume for Out Of Holster within the same profile. So far this seems impossible with the new operating system. Seems I can only set one ringtone and one vibrate for each profile. Am I missing something?

View 6 Replies View Relatedopying contacts from a Bold 9810 to another 9810.Using the BB Desktop Software I did a full backup of the device (which contained 400+ contacts), then did a full restore on a new 9810, but only 200 contacts were copied over.Next I tried to do a selective restore, but although the 400+ contacts were in the file, it was grayed out and could not be selected. How can I get all the contacts into the new 9810. (Side note: I was able to restore the 400+ contacts to a BB Bold).

If so, do i have to adjust this option for every sound (i.e. MMS, e-mail, alerts, etc)?Or there an easy way to adjust these settings? I'm not very familiar with the BBs so please be gentle.

View 6 Replies View RelatedSince the whole 2.0 update, I have been having problems when it comes to getting my Playbook out of sleep mode. When I swipe the screen to wake it up, the backlight comes on, and a bunch of grey lines are displayed. The same thing happens if I use the power button to wake it up. Sometimes it will display everything but will be a negative (what should be dark is light and visa versa). I either have to reboot the playbook, or keep putting it back to sleep and waking it up over and over again until it finally works.

I recently downloaded the new update for my Blackberry Tour, and I have noticed that my phone is not remembering its settings (im assuming). When I have my phone holstered, it only vibrates twice and does not ring (though I have it set to Always for the ringtone) for my MMS/SMS messages. When its out of holster, it will only do the default text messing sound. I am not sure how to fix this though I have rebooted it twice in attempts for the settings.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought yesterday a Nokia X2-00 and been exploring it for a while, so far so good, pretty happy and satisfied with it, but there's a problem that bothers and I can't seem to find a solution for it. About the screen-saver, I can, for example, put it as a digital clock, and set a timer for when the phone to switch to screen-saver mode. Problem is, I don't seem to find anywhere an option to play with the sleep mode - no matter what, about 10 seconds after the screen saver goes active, the screen goes totally black (goes into sleep mode) and I need to press a button to wake it up. No digital clock display, no nothing.I need to be able to see the clock (and possibly an icon for missed calls/new texts) without having to touch a button. On all my old phones you could play with both screen saver/power saving/sleep mode options, but not here. What can I do?

If you don't care about reading the story I'm looking for a way to put my phone into DFU mode without the sleep/wake button. Last week my sleep wake button mysteriously stopped working. For a time it would work with every 5th or 6th press, but now it doesn't work at all. So for the past week I've had to forgo the use of the sleep/wake button, which means that when I'm done using my phone I had to put it into my pocket and hope I didn't hit anything until it shut itself off.
It's been manageable, but I have dreaded the day that my iPhone froze or anything, because I have effectively no way to restart the the device. Turns out that day was this evening - it froze while I was in Gmail, and I was unable to do anything. Home button was non-responsive - basically the whole OS locked up. Now obviously if I had a working sleep/wake button I could have probably held down both that and the home screen and forced the iPhone to restart - clearly I don't have that option in this case...
Worse yet, I decided to try to fix my sleep/wake button, so I took my phone apart. I wasn't able to really figure out what was going on with the sleep/wake button, and while I had the case cracked open it died. Once I got everything plugged in again, the phone turned back on, and sat at the Apple logo screen for a long time, after which it superimposed a spinning wheel over top of the logo. Truth be told, I don't think that disconnecting the screen had anything to do with the spinning wheel, I think it's a result of the OS completely locking up (the likes of which I've never seen the iPhone do before... so something in the OS must have become corrupted... at least that's my theory anyway).
It has been/continues to be stuck in this loop. I'm not sure whether letting the device die and naturally resetting itself will do the trick. I'm leaning towards the idea that it probably won't help the situation. I have not yet tried to do a restore, because I'm worried that it won't work, and then I'll lose my backup as well.
So yah... does anyone know how to force the iPhone into DFU mode without the sleep/wake button?

Lot's of notifications of email, SMS etc. Now I want to sleep, but need the phone to still ring and SMS to notify me, as I need those for work. Any way I can selectively mute some notifications and not others depending on what time it is? I couldn't find any apps that did this, but there's quite a few.
