BB Torch :: 9810 Not Recognizing Holster
Nov 22, 2012My Torch 9810 is not recognizing the settings when it is in the holster. When I run diagnostics it picks up the holster but will not vibrate when in the holster.

BB Torch :: 9810 Is Still In Sleep Mode When Pulled Out Of Holster?
Sep 1, 2011All of my other blackberrys have come out of sleep mode when removed from the blackberry proximity holster. My brand new 9810 does not. It comes out with the blank (sleep) screen and I have to click one of the buttons to wake it up.

May 29, 2012Blackberry makes beautifully strong and functional leather holsters until recently. My old holster is finally giving in after 5 years and I can't find a replacement.The new holsters advertised for the Torch - DO NOT WORK!!!! The magnet is in the wrong place. Sure, it sleeps the phone on the way in but when the phone is fully inserted into the holster, the phones lights back up. It passes the magnet on the way down and then thinks it has been pulled out and lights back up.

Apr 6, 2011I recently switched from a Bold 9000 to a new Torch 9800 with the new OS 6.0. On my Bold I could set one ringtone for In Holster @ one volume and a different ringtone @ a different volume for Out Of Holster within the same profile. So far this seems impossible with the new operating system. Seems I can only set one ringtone and one vibrate for each profile. Am I missing something?

Jun 21, 2012opying contacts from a Bold 9810 to another 9810.Using the BB Desktop Software I did a full backup of the device (which contained 400+ contacts), then did a full restore on a new 9810, but only 200 contacts were copied over.Next I tried to do a selective restore, but although the 400+ contacts were in the file, it was grayed out and could not be selected. How can I get all the contacts into the new 9810. (Side note: I was able to restore the 400+ contacts to a BB Bold).

Jul 27, 2010My boss has a BB Curve 8530 and she wants to set it up to vibrate only in holster and ring outside of holster. Is this an option I can set up in Profiles? If so, do i have to adjust this option for every sound (i.e. MMS, e-mail, alerts, etc)?Or there an easy way to adjust these settings? I'm not very familiar with the BBs so please be gentle.

May 27, 2011I've been using my Torch for 6 months now, and it has been working fine with the Holster (its a flip case) Everytime I close, it will auto go to sleep mode. However, since last week, the phone doesn't go to sleep when I close the flip case. I think it doesnt detect the magnet anymore. I check the Holster and the magnet is still there. I use another magnet to run it over the Torch but the phone just doesn't go to sleep mode. I've pulled the battery out and even tried with other casing, it just doesn't work anymore.

May 10, 2010I recently downloaded the new update for my Blackberry Tour, and I have noticed that my phone is not remembering its settings (im assuming). When I have my phone holstered, it only vibrates twice and does not ring (though I have it set to Always for the ringtone) for my MMS/SMS messages. When its out of holster, it will only do the default text messing sound. I am not sure how to fix this though I have rebooted it twice in attempts for the settings.

Aug 13, 2010I just picked up a new Torch today. I've have a Bold 9000 for a long time and am used to dropping it into my belt case or pouch and having it turn off and go into in-holster mode. When I put the Torch in my 9000 cases it doesn't seem to do anything. Did RIM remove the magnet sensor and no longer have an in-holster mode? Or is the sensor in a different place and it won't work with my Bold cases? Am I missing something? I don't like having to click the lock button on the top before dropping into the case.

Feb 4, 2012I keep getting an "Error 102 Reload Software for furhter information [URL]" message. There is a Reset button below that and when I press it, it just tries to restart my blackberry. It will load to a certain point and then come back to this Error message. I went to the website it suggests and it tells me to go onto my Blackberry Desktop Manager and reload my software. Jan 23, 2012I was so excited to have a Blackberry device and my choice was the Torch 9810 mainly for 3 reasons.
1- The big screen.
2- The touch screen with the sliding keyboard.
3- Latest OS.
As I watched and read so many reviews about it and compared it to the Bold 9900 and the Torch 9860. The reviews for the Torch 9860 were somehow negative, and the sliding keyboard was a win over the Torch 9860. Bold seemed to be a good phone but the bigger screen was again what made me go for the Torch 9810.
For a new Blackberry user like me, I couldn't really figure out much differences between the three phones.
Unfortunately the Torch 9810 is not yet here in Egyptian market and I was about to buy a Bold 9900 till I noticed it would be locked to my carrier and then I changed my mind. I asked a family member to buy the Torch 9810 for me from the UAE and I finally got it one week ago.

Aug 20, 2012My brand New Tourch 9810 keeps on freezing up - I have to take the battery out in order to get it working again - I can not get onto Facebook, my BBM's doesnt go through, Sms' doesnt go through and when I tried to make a call it says - Call failed. I can not receive calls either - it goes straight to voicemail.
I can not send pics via BBM either - although it show send on my side - the receiver never gets them.
I really like Blackberry but are so frustrated that I want to get another make of phone!
