my torch 9810 with the Desktop Manager (6.1.0.35).
The situation is the following: If I go to the PC Device Manager (from "My Computer") I get the Blackberry device recognized and working properly, this means that the PC is understanding that I connected a BB. But when I open the Desktop Software and the BB Device Manager there is no way they can see it.
I tried everything:
1) clean reinstallation of the software
2) Update of BB USB drivers
3) Different USB cables
4) Different USB ports
5) USB Drive/Sync Media/Charge Only modes
6) Full restart of the BB (alt-shift-del)
7) I followed many many many related topics
I need to connect my BB because i need to reset it to factory settings since the battery is lasting maximum 1/2 day (no background running apps, no long backlighting, everything seems to be ok)...
Having a problem when trying to sync my 9810 torch to my desktop software manager as I do not recall password. I tried the 3 attempts but failed. All my data was lost but I was able to recover data from a previous backup in June.I Do not want this to happen again so what should I do , system on software manager does not mention how to change or recover password Note: I removed device already from software manager but it still ask for a password to re-connect?
Can't get my desktop software to talk to my torch it used to up until yesterday, tried to delete the software and reinstall it again, can't delete the old stuff it wont let me
"The backup failed due to an unexpected error." This is the first time I have attempted to backup my phone on this computer, and I keep getting this error message. I believe the software is up to date.
A friend gave me her BB Torch 9800 which with a quick change of sim cards works great. I have a Windows 7 PC with Outlook 2010. I do not know how to get Desktop Manager (6.0 Bundle 1165) to recognize Outlook. On the Contacts sync page I get one choice Window Contacts, On Calender and Tasks I get iCalender and on Memos I get Organizer Application not supported.
my 9810 keeps rebooting and i can't get it to connect to the desktop software. it gets a point and i get a white screen and it reboots again.operating system is OS7.0..IT starting rebooting when it was on the charger i was adding some contacts to my sim card and it screen froze. After that i couldn't get it to work again... i don't have many apps addes. most of my stuff i keep on my memory card..
I am trying to re-install Blackberry desktop software but its driving me crazy, it keeps crashing and keeps asking me to install "Microsoft.Net Framework 3.1 SP1". For some reason it does not recognise that I have already installed this ( btw I use windows vista with MS Office 2007). I have also fully deleted from programs and reinstalled the BB desktop but same result each time. It takes hours when I try to install 3.1 SP1 and says "estimated time reaming= 0 sec and below this appears a line "2432 kb of 2890kb downloaded at 608.0kb/sec and stays on this message for hours without doing anything.
I just got a new update on my 7.1? I don't know what number. I currently have .580 so it must be a higher number? Do any of you think it is safe to do the OTA VS using desktop mgr?
I have a blackberry torch 9810.I am trying to do a software update via my phone not using the computer and its stuck on backing up my data on 17% i have taken the battery out like 3 times now and its going straight to the update and then back to being stuck on 17% and now my wifi is off, i even tried connecting it to the computer and the blackberry desktop software wont connect to my phone.
I love my BB Torch, but I'm about to take it back just because I can't get desktop manager 6 working. everytime I start it on my windows 7 computer, it crashes. I've installed it, reinstalled it, and rebooted my computer so many times in the last 2 days that I'm shocked the power button is still working ont he computer. at least desktop manager 5 worked with my blackberry bold. I tried to email RIM and ask them about the issue, but after sifting through all the crap on their web page, I finally gave up.
I cannot sync my Outlook calendar when using BB desktop Manager. I get a error message pop up window saying "Intellisync" "Connector error" The the synchronization is cancelled.
I am on a personal contract and this is not connected through BB enterprise. My e-mail accounts are fine and I get these on my BB
I've just purchased a BlackBerry Torch. How can I go about transfering contacts from my old BlackBerry Bold to my new one? I can't download desktop manager as I'm running Mac OS X 10.4.11. Is there a way of doing it without the use of deskop manager?
My Desktop Manager and Torch were working beautifully together until a week or two ago. Now it will connect and says it's synching, but nothing gets transfered. When I try to close out the Desktop Manager, it shows that it is disconnecting, then just hangs there, and I have to use CTRL ALT DEL to close the program. I NEED the data on my BB and I am worried that it hasn't updated or synched properly in over a week.
Has anyone successfully tethered their Torch 9800 thru Desktop Manager 6? When I connect my phone to my computer and run DM6 I no longer see the option to tether on the bottom left corner of the applications window. I previously had a Curve 8900 and tethered with no problems thru DM6 running on Windows 7. (I'm with T-Mobile and have the unlimited data plan) I just got the Torch, unlocked it and everything is working properly on T-Mobile's network, however as I mentioned when I connect the Torch to the Desktop Manager I don't see any option to tether as I previously did with the Curve 8900. I've look at the Technical Specs provided by RIM at blackberry.com and Tethered Modem is listed as a supported Feature. I've been searching these forums and haven't found any info. Does anyone else have this problem, or am I the only one who does not have this option available on DM6. For what it's worth, I also connected a Torch 9800 running on AT&T network with a 2GB data plan and still do not see this option. However if I connect my old Curve 8900 to DM6 I see the option to tether immediately upon connecting the device on the bottom left corner of the DM6's window.
I have a 9860 that froze on me & rebooted, once it got past the black blackberry loading screen, it goes white and says Error 205 Reload Software.. Its on a constant loop of rebooting and this screen. i tried following the instructions giving on [URL] however i cannot get my phone connected to the desktop manager.
i am using att branded unlocked 9810 on t mobile. recently i updated it to 9810jAllLang_PBr7.1.0_rel998_PL5.1.0.230_A7.1.0.284. it worked fine for a hour after that i uninstalled one of the app from my BlackBerry Desktop Software the phone restarted and since then it is stuck on att welcome screen i pressed the phone button and i can see my contacts even make and receive calls switch between 5 default application but the phone wont go home screen. also i am unable to connect to my desktop manager.
Problem: When I connect Torch with PC and start Desktop Manager, DM asks password for BB. Once the password is punched, DM takes some time to connect i.e. a PC and BB is shown on Torch screen, trying to connect to each other AND then DICONNECTS.
Actions Already Taken: I have uninstalled and reinstalled DM. I have taken out battery and reboot BB. BUT problem persists.
I have the Torch 9800 and I'm running Wndows XP with the most recent version of Desktop manager.Up until two weeks ago my phone and computer communicated beautifully, syncing, back-ups, file sharing, everything. But last week my computer and phone seemed to fail to see each other and now nothing is happening when I plug my phone in. The phone goes to the 'clock' screen as if it's plugged into a charger and doesn't display a connection issue on it's end, but the computer does not show that anything has been connected. So far I have:
1) Checked the USB connection to the comptuter 2) Tried different USB ports 3) Tried a different USB cable 4) Wiped and re-installed Desktop manager on my computer
I'm at a loss on how to get my computer and phone talking to each other again.
After recently updating the Desktop Manager to 5.0.1, the Redirector no longer operates. When opening it, i get the error message."Desktop Redirector has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry..." I've unistalled Destop Manager, reverted back to 5.0.0 and I still have the same issue. This was and is currently setup with my Outlook 2003 (SP3) exchange server to forward my work emails, and it worked up until I updated to 5.0.1 last week.
My Torch appears to be a little bit poorlyI got an update to BBM which I installed, then it asked for a reboot, which I did Now its stuck on a reboot cycleI tried to enter safe mode (to uninstall the problematic application) to no effect. Then reading this wonderful site, tried the fix here url...yBut am unable to do so(When I plug in the phone I do not get the option of USB-PIN: UNKNOWN Its either blank, or I have my phone with its PIN number listed.Either way when I try to enter the app loader, the reboot sequence has started again and I'm again unable to get into the phone.unable to update os via desktop manager as phone keeps rebooting itself
A client of ours had upgraded his version of Desktop manager to 6 from 5.something.There is no more link for the Redirector under START - PROGRAMS - BLACKBERRY..The icon for the redirector still shows up in his start menu, however, it says that it's not started.Where can I find the software with the new desktop manager? I've tried reinstalling the desktop manager already but still cannot find it, nor were there any options during the installation to include it.
I've been using DM6 for the last week or so and am very disappointed. It does not seem to remember the last time that I synced or backed up. The only time it remembers is the first time I synced my BB with it. Not such a big issue for syncing, but I like my BB to backup weekly...so once a week has passed after the first sync, it wants to back up every time.
DM 5.0.1 worked flawlessly, but since I am using Outlook 2010, I can't go back.Come on RIM, you can do better than this.Any suggestions on how to get DM to remember when it actually backed up or synced?
I, stupidly, recently upgraded to the new DM v6 when prompted to do so.Since then, I have not been able to prevent emails arriving wirelessly when my BB is plugged into the software.I WANT THAT ABILITY BACK! Ok, I realise I may be weird in not wanting to have to deal with emails twice (desktop AND on my BB) but I have been happily using my BB for untethered email only. So, the question is: how do I stop my BB receiving emails while it is plugged into the DM? (I've not yet tried rolling back to the previous version of DM as that kinda offends my sense of progress.
I have been synching both Yahoo Address Book and Yahoo Calendar successfully for months.Suddenly, Address Book no longer synchs.Yahoo calendar still works. The problem occurs aftew Desktop reads all the contacts. It halts while "Synchronization Progress reading from Yahoo Address Book" displays. That message has displayed for up to an hour with no progress.I then disconnect and halt Desktop.I can still synch Yahoo Calendar.I have not updated desktop or device software.
i just wanted to know if its possible to set up their blackberry manager in such a way that it automatically uploads files to to a computer once connected to a network?
At work, we use Novell Groupwise. Calendar syncs fine, but BB Desktop Manager crashes when I sync addresses. I can load one-way from the computer to the BB, but not the other way. I may have a corrupt address, but haven't been able to get it all to work. What do I do to stop this?
I've spent a week trying to get the desktop manager to detect my curve 8530 to no avail My pc windows xp professional detects it but not the manager Ive tried what i could find on blackberry forums as well as my providers support forums and nothings worked is there anything else i can do.
