BB Storm2 9550/9520 :: Contacts Don't Show When They Call Me I See Just Number
Feb 20, 2010
i'm having a problem with the 2 leaks for 9550 i just installed the newest and the same problem i live in Saudi Arabia and the smart dialing says smart dialing is not available for this country numbers will be diled without modification. can someone help me or do i have to replace my 9550 with something that have this feature and + i cant modify the call forwarding it's not there in the options Q: why blackberrys always tend to **** me off
I just got my Storm 2 last Friday. I have noticed that when I get a missed call it doesn't show the number. It only shows the city and state. This feature is pretty cool, but I would rather know the number.
I ran into my local Verizon corporate store and told them the issue and they said they couldn't do anything for me...The typical Verizon answer
i just wondering if anybody can tell me the difference between the pin that beginning with number 2 and the one that beginning with number 3?And also how about you guys? what number is your pin beginning with?
i just got my storm2 a few days ago and was wondering if there is a way to transfer my address book from my curve to my storm2. Can it be done through the desktop manager on a computer? a friend of mine said she went into best buy and they have a special system that connects both the phones and transfers the info. I just dont want to take a special trip to BB just to do this if i can do it my self on a computer.
I suppose this could be a problem with the entire 5.0 os lineup but I only own a storm 2 so I don't know. I have a hidden video folder. Once you play one of the videos, it hen shows up in the regular video folder in "media". It's in essence added to the list of unhidden videos. Oddly enough I haven't figured out when they finally disappear.....and they do go away. Don't know if it's on a reboot or what.
Is it possible to have messages that I have sent show up on my blackberry? For example, if I responded to an email from my computer via outlook, is there a way to have that email also appear as sent on my hand held? How about vice versa (respond to email on blackberry, have it appear on outlook)?I know I can do this with my gmail account but not my .edu account.
We use a service at our office that I forwards our calls to our mobile phones. However, when the call is forwarded I need to press 1 to allow it to come through. It is annoying that I have to hit the icon at the bottom left to make the number pad come up... and I often miss the call because the screen will not come up fast enough to hit 1 to receive it. Is there a way to make the number pad come up (and stay up) by default when receiving a call?
I finally got my e-mail accounts put onto my BB storm! Problem now is that it currently dispays that I have 182 unread e-mails in the upper left hand corner and the currect number should be zero. When I restored my accounts (including my bb email, yahoo, and gmail) I decided to delete two (yahoo, gmail) and delete all the messages off of the BB email but still keep the account. I added only one other account that links to my University e-mail adress but besides those two there are no more e-mail addresses on the phone. Both of those mailboxes are empty so I'm guessing the 182 was possibly a combination number of the yahoo and gmail accounts I deleted from the handheld. Any ideas on how I can clear out that number?
Does anyone know of a way that I can listen to Rickey Smiley and the Morning Show on my BlackBerry Storm 2 (9550)? I already checked FlyCast and they don't support the station so it looks. I listen to this program every morning on the way to work and when I get there is when a lot of great stuff happens in the show, and I miss it.
Symptom: Calendar takes ~5 seconds to load. Upon loading, another ~5 seconds till it will respond to any activity. I have it default to Agenda view, as I always have. Prior to v188.8.131.527 this was NEVER an issue. Work-around: If I turn "show free time" to ON, then it works perfect. Loads instantly, scrolls instantly, etc. However, turned OFF, it reverts to issue above.Problem is that I really don't want to show the free time on my view. Whom else has this issue, anyone? Does anyone know how to resolve this?
Various times a day I have to look-up a number in my address book and make the call from there.Sometimes I press the Address Book icon, press find for the keyboard to show and to type the name I'm looking for or...
Press the call button, select the address book tab and press find for the keyboard to show and to type the name I'm looking for.BUT did you know that if you press the green call-button (from wherever you are) for 2 seconds it will go right away to the address book tab on you call screen with keyboard present?
Maybe it's old news or something new in .607? Whatever it is, I'm glad I found it and I consider it very useful for my use.
When I am in a call with someone, after 5 seconds of connected suddenly I cant hear the other person talking to me and then it says call failed, the my storm is brand new, 2 days of having it and im having this problem with almost all my calls, what could it be?
I know a thousand and one people have complained about this, and I've been scouring the internet for an hour and a half reading stories. My Blackberry Storm2 (bought yesterday) has that issue with the buttons (green call button and red end call button, at the bottom) where they just don't click properly. Sometimes it does, most of the time it's either a bunch of little clicks when pressed or it doesn't recognize at all until you press it twice or more.
Aside from that, the phone appears to work just fine, and the bottom button issue is just irritating for now.I just want to know, is it worth it to go return it for this problem? Is it going to get worse with time? I don't want to go exchange for another phone that's going to be worse off or just has the same problem, which has happened to so many people.
Does anyone have this issue with their Blackberry and have kept it with the problem and it's hanging in there just fine? Is this phone even going to MAKE IT for 1-2 years?! Anyone have positive durability stories?
I downloaded the beweather free app today and it seems to work great and all but the home screen icon doesnt show the updated temperature after i refresh my beweather free... the weird thing is that it shows the updated temperature when the icon is part of the full menu of icons when pressing the menu button to see all the icons but it is not updated when looking at the home screen layout with just one row of icons if u know what im saying.
I recently got the new BlackBery Storm 2, and the green call/accept button seems to stick when I push it. The rest of the phone works beautifully except this particular button/part of the screen.Has anyone else experienced this problem before?
Every morning when I wake up, my new Storm 2 had duplicated all of its contacts, sometime there is up to 30 of the same contact. I am new to BB in general, and this is driving me crazy! I have google sync running from my google contacts. It has even gone as far as erasing some of my contacts.
My BB handset is now more accurate then my contact list on my desktop. All the other threads have me resetting my handheld, but that is something that I can not do as it is the most accurate now.
Is there a program where I can download all of my contacts to desktop and save them there, and then upload the ones I want back? BTW, for the last 5 days at least I have manually deleted over 400 contacts, this is pretty time consuming! GRR
On my Storm 1, I could just go to my SMS screen, hit menu, then go to 'Compose SMS Text' and enter in any number I wanted to send a text to.On my storm 2, when I try the same, it always asks me to pick someone from my phonebook and I do not have the ability to just enter in a number.
I just got off the phone after trying to trouble shoot a VZ Navigator issue, and the Blackberry support person told me that the Blackberry was only designed to hold 1000 contacts (more if a contact has multiple entries). Has anyone heard of this? Only 1000 contacts? Really? Or is this just BS?
My Navigator issue was that when my user clicked on "Contacts" inside the Navigator software, it takes about 1 minute 45 seconds to pull up his contacts. The Verizon rep said that's more than likley because it's polling our BES server for any changes and besides, the BB isn't designed to hold more than 1000 contacts.
It's deleted some contacts completely, and then it's added some phone numbers from other individuals to different contacts. All I have right now is deleting everything I know isn't right and starting from scratch.
