Feb 12, 2010I purchased an unlocked BB Storm 2 (original Verizon USA) to use in India. It can only receive SMS on Vodafone India network. No incoming-outgoing call. It works fine on Airtel, Idea etc in India. Vodafone India blames the phone and the phone vendor (in USA) blames the network. I used another Vodafone SIM also - did not work.

Feb 24, 2011I have read a bunch of posts about how to unlock an active Storm on the Verizon network for use with any GSM carrier.What I haven't found is anyone who has asked or said anything about unlocking a Verizon phone which is no longer active on the Verizon network.I made the mistake of moving to ATT for some company "discounts" but have been greatly disappointed with their network and their so called "discounts".Is it possible to unlock a Verizon Storm even if it isn't active on the network?I had the number moved to ATT and everything.

Aug 14, 2010My wife and I both have Storm2s which we are obviously running on Verizon Wireless.We have the same official operating system (.713) and each have some apps. I tend to have more apps so she actually has a little bit more memory.
Lately she's been complaining that her phone has been running really slow loading up websites. I did a little side-by-side test with our blackberries.
I did the same search on the google mobile app (for Adam Sandler) and clicked on the wikipedia link at the exact same time. Mine launched the browser, loaded the wiki page and was completely done before her browser even stopped showing the word "blackberry".
She also consistently has a lower quality signal (by using the Quick Launch "Device Info" option I can easily see signal strength on both of our phones).So, my question is, what is causing her blackberry to have a lower quality signal than mine when we are in the same exact location, on the same network, running the same O.S., etc.?

Jul 7, 2010Trying to get My Contacts out of my Storm to Verizon Backup Assistance THRU THE COMPUTER(not over the airwaves). Anyone successful in doing this?
I can access the phone but contacts do not come up in BROWSE feature of Backup assist. Also it can't seem to pull them in thru a BB Manager recent back up.
Screen is cracked and I can't call *228 to (re)activate the phone to do Back up Assist thru the phone the normal way.

Jun 12, 2010I recently bought a verizon bb storm 9530, bought the code to unlocked and be able to use it with Tmobile, but I accidentally enter the wrong code 10 time and now I can not unlock to use it with tmobile at all.... is it true that the phone can not be unlock with any provider anymore since I locked it, it can be use with verizon, but that is not the provider.

Jan 4, 2010New user here. I am on my second Verizon Storm2 (in one month) with same issue. After dialing Verizon *611 or when calling voicemail, the number keypad is disabled and the numbers are gone or moved to different locations so I can not enter PIN. I am sure it is a software issue. Tried a hard reset with no luck. VZ authorized retailer believes he can fix this problem by wiping clean and reinstalling one app at a time. Has anyone else had same problem and any luck with a fix?

Jun 5, 2010Ok so I bought an env2 off a guy on craigslist. I dropped my old one in a puddle but I really loved my env 2 so I bought a used one from someone on craigslist. When I went to activate it I discovered it was on revol's network, I dont live in the city hence I can get coverage on revol. Still says verizon all over it when you turn it on and off. I am not very savvy with cell phones but I am with a computer. I took it to the verizon store and they tried to put new firmware on it but it didnt work. I have a tough time beleiving that it can go from verizons network to revols but not back, if anyone has a way that I can flash the phone back to verizon.

Nov 16, 2012This is for my father-in-law's phone. He has just basic service, so no text or data plan. Bitpim doesn't appear to support it and I cannot find a USB driver for it. The phone does not currently have Kies installed (I don't even know if it is supported on this phone). And he can't install new applications because he has no data plan. When i was under the $45 plan I had the enterprise activation on my device linking it to my Microsoft Outlook email over at work. All in all, I realized I didn't really need all of the linking up, but just needed to view my emails on the go.I ended up setting up an 'Other' email account with the address from work. It works just fine, but I'm now getting two of the same email from work over and over. I have a feeling it has to do with the previous enterprise activation linking it to my work 'Desktop'.Is there a way around this without having to reset my BlackBerry?

Jul 14, 2010I have a storm2. Yesterday I started having problems viewing text messages. I have my email account and my sms/mms messages in two different buttons on the menu. When I tried viewing new text messages, they were not in the inbox. I soon realized that my emails were showing up in my sms and mms inbox. I had to go into Options and Inbox Settings and choose for sms and mms to be included in the "main message list". How to I get these messages to go back to separate places?

I have it set to keep messages for 30 days but emails I got on Thursday and Friday are already gone. When I deleted something else today I noticed that the saved messages I had are no longer on my handheld. I saw on another thread to increase my memory but it's currently at 39 for applications and 866 for the device.do I need more and how do I get it? If not is there something to do to?

I would call myself on the technical side, but am just not sure of how one smartphone can do it and one cant. Not bashing RIM or my storm..and not looking to transfer over to the iphone - just interested in knowing why and if there is, or will be some BB that can offer this.
eg.. what hardware makes this achieve-able? can RIM at all add this to future BB's.
I feel it doesnt have to do anything between CDMA and GSM, I could be wrong, Im sure there are a few members on here that can help clarify.
BB Storm 9500 :: Cant Send Emails After Updating Firmware To .451
Aug 9, 2010I recently upgraded my bb storm to 5.0.0.451, after doing so i discovered that when composing a new email I could not send it.The send option in the menu is missing and the send button at the top right corner of the screen is unresponsive.
Strangely though the send option is still available when replying to emails,it is only when I compose a new email that it is missing and I can only save it as a draft.I have tried upgrading to 5.0.0.841 and downgrading to 4.7.0.181, security wiping and clearing the service books and resending them but it still wont let me send an email.And right now I cant even download any other firmware using the desktop manager as it seems to have ground to a halt.

Jun 9, 2011I recently changed my email passwords and now my BB won't deliver the emails. I rec'd a message saying that I need to verify my new passords and tells me how to do it. But I follow those instructions and it asks me to enter my user name and password. I've tried the one that I've used to add software, but that doesn't work.
