BB Storm :: Is It Possible To Unlock A Verizon Storm

I have read a bunch of posts about how to unlock an active Storm on the Verizon network for use with any GSM carrier.What I haven't found is anyone who has asked or said anything about unlocking a Verizon phone which is no longer active on the Verizon network.I made the mistake of moving to ATT for some company "discounts" but have been greatly disappointed with their network and their so called "discounts".Is it possible to unlock a Verizon Storm even if it isn't active on the network?I had the number moved to ATT and everything.

I just unlock the BB Storm 2 9550 and I can't see the MMS meaning that I can't send or receive picture messaging? Can anyone help me out please??? I have service with t-mobile by the way.

I purchased an unlocked BB Storm 2 (original Verizon USA) to use in India. It can only receive SMS on Vodafone India network. No incoming-outgoing call. It works fine on Airtel, Idea etc in India. Vodafone India blames the phone and the phone vendor (in USA) blames the network. I used another Vodafone SIM also - did not work.

My Storm 1 crashed Sunday night with message on screen stating 'Reload Softwares 552'. I called Verizon Tech Support and they just ended up giving me a brand new Storm 2 for free! All I had to do was re-sign my contract for another two years. Gonna miss my Storm 1 but the Storm 2 is sweet! Just got it today. Anyone wanting to upgrade, try using that excuse.

My wife and I both have Storm2s which we are obviously running on Verizon Wireless.We have the same official operating system (.713) and each have some apps. I tend to have more apps so she actually has a little bit more memory.
Lately she's been complaining that her phone has been running really slow loading up websites. I did a little side-by-side test with our blackberries.
I did the same search on the google mobile app (for Adam Sandler) and clicked on the wikipedia link at the exact same time. Mine launched the browser, loaded the wiki page and was completely done before her browser even stopped showing the word "blackberry".
She also consistently has a lower quality signal (by using the Quick Launch "Device Info" option I can easily see signal strength on both of our phones).So, my question is, what is causing her blackberry to have a lower quality signal than mine when we are in the same exact location, on the same network, running the same O.S., etc.?

Trying to get My Contacts out of my Storm to Verizon Backup Assistance THRU THE COMPUTER(not over the airwaves). Anyone successful in doing this?
I can access the phone but contacts do not come up in BROWSE feature of Backup assist. Also it can't seem to pull them in thru a BB Manager recent back up.
Screen is cracked and I can't call *228 to (re)activate the phone to do Back up Assist thru the phone the normal way.

I recently bought a verizon bb storm 9530, bought the code to unlocked and be able to use it with Tmobile, but I accidentally enter the wrong code 10 time and now I can not unlock to use it with tmobile at all.... is it true that the phone can not be unlock with any provider anymore since I locked it, it can be use with verizon, but that is not the provider.

New user here. I am on my second Verizon Storm2 (in one month) with same issue. After dialing Verizon *611 or when calling voicemail, the number keypad is disabled and the numbers are gone or moved to different locations so I can not enter PIN. I am sure it is a software issue. Tried a hard reset with no luck. VZ authorized retailer believes he can fix this problem by wiping clean and reinstalling one app at a time. Has anyone else had same problem and any luck with a fix?

this may sound pathetic but I got this phone from my sister who is in Canada, a BB storm2 which is locked from verizon wireless and would want to know how to unlock this unit for free, I know there are sites that can help but they charge some amount of money and I do not have a credit card to pay, is there anyway that I can have this unit unlocked free of charge?

I got a Blackberry Storm 9530 with Telus Mobility Canada and I am not able to unlock it. The provider said that it is a technology for Internation Roaming Card but can also accept SIM card. The problem is that on the net it says that it is SIM card technology and I saw some people unlock there Blackberry Storm. I have got a Internation Roaming Card in my blackberry storm. Can someone explain me why I have a BB Storm that can ONLY accept SIM card without using SIM card technology while everyone else in North America can unlock their phones?

Well spring break is here for the most part and I'm heading to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I want to be able to fully use my phone without any outrageous out of country charges. So I'm thinking I need an unlock code right? How do I go about getting an unlock code and when I do get this unlock code will my charges still be completely normal even tho I'm in another country? Again I don't want any crazy charges for texting and such.

recently got moved to kuwait and wanted to keep using my blackberry storm 2. so i got the unlock code and unlocked it. after that i got a pre-paid SIM and phone and sms works great, connected to 3g and everything but anytime i try to use something that requires internet it says i need a wifi connection to do that. when i got the pre-paid the guy at the phone shop said it would work with blackberry internet and email. is there a setting i'm missing?

How can i recover the secret pattern or reset the phone setting so that i can start using my BB storm.

My browser and email stopped working about 3 days ago and I spent almost a whole day on the phone with support, no help. They had me do everything including delete all my service books and now there is nothing in the host routing table. They finally said, we cant help. I'm having is when I go to send the service books to activate email I keep getting update failed I tried the diagnostic test and manually sending the books. Has a Storm and it just shut off on. When I pull the battery, the red light comes on for a few seconds and the screen and buttons light up. Then, it starts over. 20 minutes later and it's still in that same cycle.
It's rocking Verizon's official 5.0 and she doesn't do anything to modify or hack it. I've never encountered this before.
I'm wondering if the OS became corrupt, but we're @ Red Lobster and there's nothing I can do now.

I'm having problem with my storm phone ever since it was dropped in water. I left it to dry for a week. Since then I replaced my battery and the phone came on with the clock and then the screen showed up. and could not do anything. Then the screen went black. Now when I try to recharge it only a green light appears and nothing else. Did I kill my battery and is the phone no longer good or it's just my screen and i can replace it.

I am a customer of Verizon Wireless in the USA and have recently had a brand new phone sent to me. I live in Canada so I have to manually activate my phone. I have no problems doing the manual activation to allow me to make and receive calls. However, I cannot register my phone to get my data usage set up. After hours of troubleshooting over the phone with Verizon, they've some up with the conclusion that I have to be in the US, and on the Verizon network to register the phone. I have always been on the global data plan. So, basically right now I'm with a smartphone that has zero smartphone capabilities. is another way to get this phone activated.
