im having a problem with the desktop software 6.0 finding my phone. when i plug my phone in it dings twice like i plugged in two devices. when the desktop does find my phone it looks like there is two os 5.0"'s installed on my phone? is this normal?

View 5 Replies View RelatedAs of 2 days ago my 9550 won't sync with Outlook (USB or Bluetooth). Has worked fine for 2+ years. I have made no changes or updated any software. After 10+ hours of tech support with RIM they tell me its a software glitch they are aware of and don't know when or if it will be resolved. Verizon is not aware of the issue...RIM has me waste 10+ hours of my time and their techs time...and they both have told me your out of luck.

How can I remove the items from the phone if it is not giving the option to do so? Apps that I did not install to the phone, but are listed in my applications folder (actual folder, not in setup options) on the phone itself.

Apps that I personally installed on the phone and then uninstalled them from the phone itself. They still show on the phone. If I click on the app, it takes me to the install screen & gives me the options "I agree / I do not agree".

Installation of the DM went through fine. When it is started up, the following message is displayed:
"Before you begin, verify that your current Blackberry device is connected to your computer."
When I connect the device to the computer via USB cable, DM is forced to close.
I, stupidly, recently upgraded to the new DM v6 when prompted to do so.Since then, I have not been able to prevent emails arriving wirelessly when my BB is plugged into the software.I WANT THAT ABILITY BACK! Ok, I realise I may be weird in not wanting to have to deal with emails twice (desktop AND on my BB) but I have been happily using my BB for untethered email only. So, the question is: how do I stop my BB receiving emails while it is plugged into the DM? (I've not yet tried rolling back to the previous version of DM as that kinda offends my sense of progress.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a 9105 and recently downloaded Desktop Manager 6 onto my PC running XL. When running the older DM I was able to use the programme a few times then it stopped recognizing that my phone was connected. I have not managed to connect since upgrading. I have spent many hours in this and other forums trying every reasonable idea. I have removed the version 6 and loaded 5 again, removed 5 and clean installed 6. Checked all the different USB options and drivers. Changed USB cabels and connections. Removed the battery countless times but nothing will get it to connect. Windows and the device manager see the phone and I am able to remove/add files. I also upgraded my Documenyts To Go so that I can sync the docs on my desktop but this also fails to see my phone. Having read most KB's in this regard I am now not sure where to look.

WP8 only shows the number of devices connected and not the names..
(Reason I ask is that I had shared my tethering password with a bunch of guys at work but can't tell who is connected)
Just downloaded the lastest update for iPhone 4s (5.1) and now none of my bluetooth devices will work even after paired and connected; reset everything - still having same problem; accessories work with other devices so it's the iPhone.

I am trying to transfer the photos from iPhone 4 to my Macbook Pro but I can't find the device under 'Devices'. I can see it in iTunes, however. I am running 10.6.1 so restart, re-install and all that jazz is tried and tested with failure. Anything beyond that I should try to see this as a USB device?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI am needing to upgrade to the OS v.5 but my Storm is not connecting to Desktop Manager. I can see that it's connected to my laptop by checking under My Computer. I've repeatedly done a hard reset for my Storm and also uninstalled/reinstalled the Desktop software, restarted my laptop. I also disabled Norton and Windows Firewall. Neither worked. I also decided to do a "wipe handheld" which SORTA worked but doesn't work. Desktop Manager recognizes the Storm connection but still remains disconnected and the phone continues to flash the screen "Connecting to desktop" and goes away. The last time my Storm was able to connect to the Desktop software was in August of 2009 when I was able to backup my data. Now, not only can I upgrade my OS, I can't restore my data because for some reason the phone and Desktop manager will not maintain a connection. I'm beyond frustrated at this point.

I've tried everything, unplugging it, changing ports, restarting apple mobile device services, everything. My iphone will connect to the computer and charge, but that's about the extent of what it will do. It won't connect to itunes, it won't even show up as a driver on my computer. ITunes was working a few days ago and all of a sudden it just stopped working. I just got a new iPhone and would like to put music on so i don't have to carry around an iPHone and iPod.

When I enable Mobile Hotspot or share the connection through USB, the other devices connect just fine, but no data is received at all.
* Tested with both a laptop and another phone
* To rule out carrier restrictions, I put the SIM in a Nexus4 and enabled Wifi tethering, then connected to it with the S5, works np, just not the other way around.

I decided so to restore my blackberry. But, when I was restoring it, my sister unplugged it and since then, I am not able to do anything with it. It loads (where it's written blackberry with a loading bar) and right after, there is a white screen with error 200 on it. Now, when I replug it into my computer, it says : Blackberry desktop software can't communicate with the phone connected. There is no way I can restore it again or do anything.

View 9 Replies View Relateda client of mine (bold 9700 with latest device software) has complained on more than one occasion about receiving missed call notifications when connected via usb to her computer (while desktop software is running - also latest version). phone does not ring, the missed call notification just appears. she says this happens WELL after the synchronization process finishes so it's not like the call came in while in the process of sync'ing.
