Has anyone noticed that the device software v5 upgrade has a bug? I am unable to activate the alpha keyboard to enter registration codes for my purchased applications. Only the numberical keyboard is working.

I am a customer of Verizon Wireless in the USA and have recently had a brand new phone sent to me. I live in Canada so I have to manually activate my phone. I have no problems doing the manual activation to allow me to make and receive calls. However, I cannot register my phone to get my data usage set up. After hours of troubleshooting over the phone with Verizon, they've some up with the conclusion that I have to be in the US, and on the Verizon network to register the phone. I have always been on the global data plan. So, basically right now I'm with a smartphone that has zero smartphone capabilities. is another way to get this phone activated.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just have bought STORM 2 from some guy, and I put my GSM card (with BIS activated and working on my BB CURVE 8900), but I can't register for BIS on my network. Everything is working, like calls, SMS, GPRS, MMS but BIS can't tbe activated.When I try to go on my operator's webpage to register my phone, I get this message:Cannot create account: Your BlackBerry® Internet Service Account is suspended or deactivated. Please contact.your wireless service provider at XXX XXX XXX.What to do? What seems to be a problem? IS this phone blacklisted, or something? View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to get the keyboard to STOP popping up automatically when one opens an SMS message using the Storm 9530 running v5.0.0.328 (Platform 4.2.0.128)? I do like the threaded messages - very handy - but I'm old and my eyes aren't what they used to be. That tiny little slit with one line of text just doesn't get it for me when trying to read the SMS messages. Anyone find a way to stop that keyboard from coming up automatically?

When you're in a group chat or individual chats the keyboard does not appear when you click inside the text box or choose show keyboard from the menu. I've heard this from a few other people I know that have the Storm 2. This is very frustrating. Please help!!!!!!!

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo my old, wine covered Storm is gone and I got a brand new replacement from Telus today. Hurray! I backed up the old phone and restored it backup on the new one, but all my third party apps are gone (Telus told me that they should transfer, but I was skeptical). Is there anyway to get these back without having to re-download them all? There's two or three that I actually paid for... it would suck to have to re-buy them!
I'm looking at BlackBerry Desktop Manager, and there's an option to import 3rd party apps from the old phone to the new one, but you need to have both phones at the same time I think. Not too handy!
I recently bought Storm 2 from M1 Singapore and it was pre loaded with few premium games (can remember Tetris). Anyway after I attached the device to desktop manager it went for auto OS update and while doing the phone hanged and became unusable.I followed some forum here and managed to make it working back by downloading the default device software by M1 site installing it on my desktop and then use Loader to restore things back.
Surprisingly the phone was working fine but all my premium games were lost. I approached to M1 and they reloaded the same OS again but it was same as the one on web and my premium games were lost.
I called the hotline support and it was even more funny that after talking so long they followed up next day with some freeware site link and asking me to download it from there. It does not exist.Is there anyone here from Singapore who can list the name of games and apps which comes preloaded on their Storm 2 from M1. Can I get the OTA link?
I have a problem with my BB STORM 9520: after a phone call I made, the keyboard is completely stuck on the Homepage.So, instead of having a regular BB homepage with the menu etc..I have the QWERTY keyboard not going away in anyway.If I type some keys, it brings me to the "numeric keyboard", the one you use to dial the numbers when you have to make calls.

However I changed my keyboard settings to full qwerty for a bit and then forgot to change it back before the phone locked. Now I don't know which letters correspond to the numbers of my password!

It is a royal pain in the a** having to go back and forth between the two keyboards when you are typing numbers with decimal points. Furthermore how do you get this complaint to someone that could do something about it?

However when I try to swipe it down, the keyboard does disappear. Is this a common problem with the 5.0.0.425 or is it just me who is unlucky?

I am trying tp change my signal meter from bars to db and iv done this before. But now I can't seem to bring up the vkeyboard on the home screen to allow me to enter the code. All the instructions say to open the menu and select "show VK" but that's not showing in the menu. Also, I mapped it to a side key and it brings it up everywhere BUT the home screen. Did rim disable this ability?

It's Quickpull that I'm trying to install but this is happening with all the .JAD apps. BBSlider and Google maps which are both .COD files installed fine.

Most apps that I tried won't allow this, they need the app link to be clicked from the device rather than from a PC?
Is it possible to switch what available memory is used for applications in my blackberry? Right now it shows my phone as having only about 20MB of space left for apps in it (all I've downloaded is Facebook mobile, 1 theme, and 2 games from app world). I have an 8GB card in my phone - can i set it where the memory for saving apps is the card instead of the on board memory? I can't find an option to switch it in the phone, but I'm not sure if I'm looking in the right places.

All 3rd party apps (google maps, gmail, Facebook 1.6, opera, etc...), text messages, phone calls, and browsing on BB's native browser work with no problems when using the data connection. About an hour or so later, all the 3rd party apps have data connection failures yet text messages, phone calls, and browsing on BB's native browser still work fine. If I pull the battery the 3rd party apps will still work fine using the data connection until about an hour or so later and it stops again (requiring another battery pull).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had my storm for a week now and after restarting to finalise deleting some apps this green flashing LED light came on. But it's not like a coverage indicator where it flashes constantly it flashes 8 times then goes of for about 5 minutes and then flashes again.
So I tried a battery pull to see if it would go away and the green LED did but now the exact same thing is happening except the LED is red (flashes 8 times stops for 5 mins flashes 8 times and so on)
Bought a blackberry storm online. Got it in and the touch screen wont register my touch.

Recently, because of their 3G I got a BSNL sim with bb service and I am trying to use the same handset on their network. It is not registering with the bb network. I am not able to send and receive text messages too. I can not browse in default browser, but can browse with Bolt. I can not use Appworld either. BSNL people have said that it is properly set up at their end. Is there anything I can do to be on bsnl bb service?

I called Verizon Tech Support and they just ended up giving me a brand new Storm 2 for free! All I had to do was re-sign my contract for another two years. Gonna miss my Storm 1 but the Storm 2 is sweet! Just got it today. Anyone wanting to upgrade, try using that excuse.

I tried downgrading the software and found I could send mms again.Is there any way of fixing it so i can have the newest version of software on my Blackberry and still be able to send mms?
