May 25, 2011A client of ours uses a specialist software which sends emails to them when anything goes wrong. Recently the emails have been displaying oddly. There support company has asked the following;
"You need to make sure you are viewing the emails in HTML mode in order for them to display correctly.If they still do not display correctly with html mode on this is either going to be an issue with the blackberry model you are using or the encoding used to read the emails on your device.Our helpdesk emails require Unicode UTF 7 or 8 encoding to be displayed correctly."
How can we check what Unicode encoding the BB is using?

Nov 11, 2012I have a Blackberry 8230 that won't turn on. When the battery is charged, the red light flashes very slowly (about 10 seconds on, 10 seconds off). When I plug the USB cable into the computer, I see the BB hard drive for a brief second or two, then it disappears. It will appear briefly again about 20 seconds later, then disappear again. Is the battery shot? Or could there be something else going on? The phone was on the charger all night.

I had original Nokia in my hand and I compered few things and this phone is little different.
I have a feeling that display has less colours that the other one. It starts with different tone then original one. In the right up corner has got bigger battery sign and when you charge it the lines which indicates charging process moves very quickly. It is not just that I have noticed that quality of camera is not that good. All icons are on the right place but it looks like there is a old soft in it. When I open and take battery off I can see sticker of Nokia. It says Type RM-84 which is different the from the display. Then IMEI - long number

I know that anyone can put a sticker on the phone but I wonder where is information about product code.
I have tried to use number 039650 because it looks the most similar to product code but your web site says:
"...That is not a valid product code. Please check your product code and type it again. For example, most codes begin '05xxxxx'...."
I have tried to paste number with A in front of it as it is on the sticker on the phone and I got following:
"...Sorry, there is no software currently available for that product code via the Nokia Software Update tool...."

Although I donot get sent mails from my Windows Live account (mails sent from PC) on the phone. I can see mails sent from the phone, but not the ones that I send from my computer. The gmail account does not have this problem, only the Windows Live account has.

I have a client that has numerous employees with blackberries, but they refuse to shell out the money for a BES. So unfortunately I get to support them with BIS. I thought I read somewhere about the check-in process to Exchange and having to re-validate the settings either through the device or the BIS website. So to put it simply, is the BIS attempts to checkin with Exchange and finds nothing, how long before you have to go through the process of re-validating?
