Last night my blackberry stopped ringing so I pulled the battery. When it tried to reboot I got "Reload Software: 507". So now this morning I tried to connect my phone to the computer via USB cable and neither windows nor the Blackberry desktop manager are recognizing it as being connected.
View 1 Repliesfirst things first -- a computer whiz I am not!!! I apologize if I come across as a complete **bleep** when it comes to computer jargon but I'm still in the "intermediate at best" phase of my computer knowledge.
I have a Blackberry Pearl 8230 with a 4G data card that I can't use, because I cannot connect my blackberry to the computer! It's plugged in with the USB cable, and the device charges, but the Desktop software never recognizes the device. It doesn't say "a new device has been added", and the Desktop software just says "Please connect your device". My husband has a blackberry that seems to connect no problem.
I wondered if there were issues connecting 2 devices to the same computer, so I connected my blackberry to my laptop and still no dice.I've taken my BlackBerry to the Telus store, and they have no issues with connections.
They upgraded the software on the BlackBerry for me but it still refuses to connect to the computer.What am I doing wrong? This is a fresh computer with a brand new download of Desktop software (just downloaded the other day).Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm getting rather annoyed at this point.
I have download files from computer to my blackberry, after that my files on my phone is all gone. How can I recover them again?

It shows the complete signal strength of my WiFi signal but unable to browse. It hits an error message 'Unable to fconnect to the server'.

I have sent a message to sony about this problem and they asked me to turn off all my firewalls and anti viruses on my computer and to then try again but then no luck. After some time the mini usb port wasnt working at all and i was sent a new one. As soon as i got it i tried to connect it to my computer but no luck it wasn't picking it up. I also tried it on my laptop and on my mac but yet again nothing worked. Right now, I can access the filesystem over bluetooth.The cable is not the problem -- I can use it in my droid, BB storm and in my other dare. The only thing my dare will do with the cable is charge.

It starts off as normal asking me to connect phone or install pc companion, but after i choose one first it jus goes blank and then says no sim card connected, then it completely reboots. When it finally starts up it just shows the charging symbol but no "connect phone etc" option.

Also, it says if I want to sync the phone with the computer, it will delete all of the current apps and contacts on my phone. I never had trouble with my PC.
