BB Pearl :: 8120 Not Meet System Requirements To Support App World
Jan 29, 2012
I've bought the pearl 8120 which does say it has instant messaging. However there is no bb app world on it at the minute and as I just tried to download it from google I get the message 'your device does not meet the system requirements to support bb app world'. How do I get the system requirements? I only bought it for bb messenger.

My last Torch died with a JVM. Just got it replaced today and I want to get my Downloaded apps back. After I have restored the device from BlackBerry Desktop, none of my downloaded apps are there. I have a brand new 9860 , running Bundle 7.1. I launch App World. It tells me to upgrade. When I follow the screen upgrades, I reach an error message : Notice: Sorry your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support BB App World. I have a brand new phone so first question...can I upgrade App World over Wi-FI. or do I have to get a Data Plan from my Telco first ? I have been running my old phone fine with no Data plan but enjoying BBM and Cell use.

A while back I experienced problems with my blackberry app world, it had just disappeared and I couldn't get to it. For a long time I had just accepted it was gone and continued using my BB but last night I reinstalled it and then attempted to install/upgrade my current BB Facebook to the newer nicer version but it was telling me I my blackberry didn't meet the system requirements for it. I tried to do some research about it and came up with nothing, could anyone help?My Blackberry is a Curve 8520 and my OS is 4.6(I have tried to search for a new OS but it says no updates available)

I've had my Torch for 2-3 weeks now. I do not remember ever seeing the twitter app pre installed. I certainly don't remember deleting it. When I go to twitter to download the blackberry app it gives me a notice."Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support Twitter for BlackBerry Smartphones."
I don't use twitter that much, but would like it installed in case I do. It's really not my main concern, my main concern is that this is a bigger issue that I need to get resolved before I'm stuck with a phone that doesn't work like it's supposed to and won't be able to run other apps. Any ideas? I'm still running the original OS.

I have a blackberry pearl 8120 and I don't have a data plan with it. I can use the wifi feature with no problem to connect to the internet anywhere except at home. My phone for some reason cannot locate my home wifi let alone connect to it.

I have a Pearl 8120. There is an issue where the phone will crash if I connect it to certain PCs via USB.When I say it crashes the screen goes blank, and the red light stays on. To recover from this point I have to unplug it and re-insert the battery. Though for example if I connect it while the PC has not booted into Windows then it will not crash. When I connect the phone via a charger cable it is also fine, and it never crashes on my own home PC.

Yes, I have a Blackberry Pearl 8120 that I got used for fifty dollars after my old Blackberry Pearl 8100 died. Anyway, to make a long story short it randomly resets itself. The screen goes black, and the LED in the right-hand corner goes red...and then it turns on a few seconds later with a white screen and an hourglass in the center. After a minute or two, it reboots the homescreen and operating system as if nothing happened.
This happens at random intervals, and I do not know what is causing it. Sometimes it will happen several times in a row and other times it will not happen for several hours. It can happen at any time whether you are in the middle of a phone call or if you simply have it on a table and you are not even touching it.
I have done the following steps to determine the problem:
1. I have removed the media card to determine if that was the problem - No change
2. I have removed the SIM card to determine if that was the problem - No change
3. I have reinstalled the operating system - No change
4. I have tried clearing the message log - No change
5. I have made sure that the battery was not loose - No change
6. I have switched batteries - No change
7. I have tried wiping the memory - No change
The only apps I have on it are the original ones that it came with. I do not know what else it could be as I have done all that my carrier suggested. I would rather not have to get a new phone as I like this phone and I do not need all of the extra stuff on it that newer models have.

I have recently updated a software on a Garmin satnav that I use to pair with my 8120 for hands free phone usage while driving. Prior to update reception was excellent. Post update it is dreadful. The satnav is now Bluetooth vs 2.1 while my 8120 remains on vs 2.0. Is there a way to update Bluetooth on my 8120 to vs 2.1. They are meant to be 'backwards compatible?

I have just joined the bb world and swapped existing SIM from a basic NOKIA phone to 8120 Pearl. How I can easily access the contacts - just telephone numbers - on the SIM card that would be great. My service provider advised me to select 'SIM from contacts' but I do not have this option to choose from, I have 'Addresses' only and the options are: move, hide, show all, add folder.

don't know if anyone can help me, but I'm having serious issues with this version of WLM on my pearl 8120.I tried updating the version via BlackBerry App World. Downloaded and apparently installed fine. Rebooted the device and it keeps crashing on the restart. basically it'll start to load, then hang there for about 5-15 mins, then the red led will come for approx 3-5 seconds then it will turn off and do it all over again.Only way I have found to get my phone turned on again, is to connect via blackberry desktop manager and removing wlm version2.5.69 and then it works fine. But It's a pain in the **bleep** as I don't have WLM on my phone and I really need it on there.

I've had my Pearl 8120 for about a year or so and for the past 8 months or so it's been unexpectedly crashing, not so much at first, but it has gradually got worse to the point where the phone has become practically unusable, crashing almost every 5-10 mins. The crashing can happen at any time, whilst on a call, texting, emailing, web browsing, menu browsing etc.
Here's what happens:
The screen suddenly goes black, and the red light at the top lights up, then the screen lights up and I get a turning hourglass. This will remain on the screen for anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes, during which I cannot do anything (turn it off, even taking the battery out doesn't fix it, as it returns to doing it when I put the battery back in). When it's done doing this, my home screen appears, giving me a message reading "Verifying Security Software", a loading bar which loads up to 100%. After this, I can use the phone (until it crashes again!), but it doesn't have the memory of the previous call (in other words, it doesn't show up in my recent call list, nor does it remember who the last person I called was in my address book), and I lose whatever txt/email I was typing. I thought it might be a faulty battery so I bought a brand new battery but still the same problem.
This crashing seems to be entirely random and I know I'm not accidentally pressing anything to cause it. There are days where it happens every few hours, but there are some days where its every 5 mins!My phone seems to have moods!
I feel like throwing my phone against a wall and watching as it smashes into a million pieces does that explain how I feel?
