Adv. Comm. Manager
Smart Connect
Vlingo
PTT
I do not require these but I do not have the option to delete them - all I can do for now is move them to a new folder which I have called 'Unused apps'. Can anyone shed any light on how I can remove these apps and therefore free up more memory.

May 24, 2010I thought I had uninstalled all my unwanted apps (twitter, myspace and flickr) a couple of months ago but I just clicked 'show all' and they all appeared. I looked online before posting and saw many people being able to solve this through going into settings>advanced options>applications and then finding and deleting the app however these ones don't appear on the list - how do i delete them? When ever i click on them i just get 'hide/show' options.

Sep 6, 2012As the subject indicates I am looking to delete some of the pre-installed applications on my Z3. I have had the phone for a while however, the frequency of the updates, the way in which Sony has pre-determined which apps I want to use is now very irritating.
I have my own apps installed, ones I trust and know and would like to remove, permanently, those I deem unrequired. Is there a way of deleting these applications, which currently are locked or am I forced into rooting the phone first, thereby probably invalidating the warranty.

Jan 5, 2011I have a Pearl 8120. There is an issue where the phone will crash if I connect it to certain PCs via USB.When I say it crashes the screen goes blank, and the red light stays on. To recover from this point I have to unplug it and re-insert the battery. Though for example if I connect it while the PC has not booted into Windows then it will not crash.When I connect the phone via a charger cable it is also fine, and it never crashes on my own home PC.

May 8, 2012Yes, I have a Blackberry Pearl 8120 that I got used for fifty dollars after my old Blackberry Pearl 8100 died. Anyway, to make a long story short it randomly resets itself. The screen goes black, and the LED in the right-hand corner goes red...and then it turns on a few seconds later with a white screen and an hourglass in the center. After a minute or two, it reboots the homescreen and operating system as if nothing happened.
This happens at random intervals, and I do not know what is causing it. Sometimes it will happen several times in a row and other times it will not happen for several hours. It can happen at any time whether you are in the middle of a phone call or if you simply have it on a table and you are not even touching it.
I have done the following steps to determine the problem:
1. I have removed the media card to determine if that was the problem - No change
2. I have removed the SIM card to determine if that was the problem - No change
3. I have reinstalled the operating system - No change
4. I have tried clearing the message log - No change
5. I have made sure that the battery was not loose - No change
6. I have switched batteries - No change
7. I have tried wiping the memory - No change
The only apps I have on it are the original ones that it came with. I do not know what else it could be as I have done all that my carrier suggested. I would rather not have to get a new phone as I like this phone and I do not need all of the extra stuff on it that newer models have.

Post update it is dreadful. The satnav is now Bluetooth vs 2.1 while my 8120 remains on vs 2.0. Is there a way to update Bluetooth on my 8120 to vs 2.1. They are meant to be 'backwards compatible?

Feb 7, 2011don't know if anyone can help me, but I'm having serious issues with this version of WLM on my pearl 8120.I tried updating the version via BlackBerry App World. Downloaded and apparently installed fine. Rebooted the device and it keeps crashing on the restart. basically it'll start to load, then hang there for about 5-15 mins, then the red led will come for approx 3-5 seconds then it will turn off and do it all over again.Only way I have found to get my phone turned on again, is to connect via blackberry desktop manager and removing wlm version2.5.69 and then it works fine. But It's a pain in the **bleep** as I don't have WLM on my phone and I really need it on there.

Jan 4, 2010I've had my Pearl 8120 for about a year or so and for the past 8 months or so it's been unexpectedly crashing, not so much at first, but it has gradually got worse to the point where the phone has become practically unusable, crashing almost every 5-10 mins. The crashing can happen at any time, whilst on a call, texting, emailing, web browsing, menu browsing etc.
Here's what happens:
The screen suddenly goes black, and the red light at the top lights up, then the screen lights up and I get a turning hourglass. This will remain on the screen for anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes, during which I cannot do anything (turn it off, even taking the battery out doesn't fix it, as it returns to doing it when I put the battery back in). When it's done doing this, my home screen appears, giving me a message reading "Verifying Security Software", a loading bar which loads up to 100%. After this, I can use the phone (until it crashes again!), but it doesn't have the memory of the previous call (in other words, it doesn't show up in my recent call list, nor does it remember who the last person I called was in my address book), and I lose whatever txt/email I was typing. I thought it might be a faulty battery so I bought a brand new battery but still the same problem.
This crashing seems to be entirely random and I know I'm not accidentally pressing anything to cause it. There are days where it happens every few hours, but there are some days where its every 5 mins!My phone seems to have moods!
I feel like throwing my phone against a wall and watching as it smashes into a million pieces does that explain how I feel?
Unwanted App Won't Delete From IPhone 5
Jun 23, 2014Ok, here is the situation: I updated the software on my iPhone 5 a couple of days ago. After it updated, I noticed that there was a new app on my phone (some game called Cookies and I may have had on my phone in the past), but I couldn't open it because it was darkened, like apps are while they are waiting to be downloaded, except it wasn't downloading. I held down on the app to make it jiggle and the cross sign came up to delete it, so I pressed it and clicked delete but it didn't delete, it just stayed there. I decided to ignore it and just put it in my games folder. Â
Just this morning, I updated another game on my phone called Candy Crush, and this game is kept in the same games folder as the one I put Cookies in. I understand that if you are updating an app that is kept in a folder, the loading circle is displayed on the folder, this was going as normal, until I noticed that Candy Crush had already updated, but the loading circle was still being displayed on the folder, it was frozen at the half way point and has not moved since.Â
So, what I need to know is:
Why hasn't cookies downloaded, and how can I delete it?
How can I get rid of the loading circle displayed on my games folder?Â
I have written these two questions together because I'm wondering if they could be connected?

Mar 22, 2012I just updated my iPhone to the OS 5.1. When I connected my iPhone to my laptop, it automatically synced a bunch of photos to my iPhone that I didn't want on there. How do I delete them??? My phone wasn't backed up prior to the sync. I've tried everything I can think of! I've downloaded this program called iExplorer, which didn't help me one bit...and there is no delete button anywhere on the phone for the pics I want off! The only delete button that shows up is the one in the Camera Roll album. The ones I want to remove are in separate albums just like on my laptop.

Jul 1, 2014I have an iPhone4 that I recently (finally) updated to 7.1.1. After I did so, I seemed to have some songs on my phone that I didn't sync. Tried various things, didn't seem to work. Finally went to iTunes and synced with no songs selected. There should be nothing on my phone, right? About 24 songs remain. Some of them aren't even in my iTunes library. Nor are they from iCloud (no symbol next to them on the phone, and iCloud not selected under settings).  Swiping to the right on these titles has no effect.Â
How do I get rid of these songs?
