I am trying to use a new simcard for my Blackberry Curve 9300. The new simcard does not work in that it only allows me to do emergency calls. When I look at options/device/advanced settings/simcard I see that everthing is distabled and the phone number is "unknown number". I read on another website that my device is not locked if all options say distabled.Can anyone tell me what does this mean?

I tried calling boost mobile to get puk code which i got but mssg stated unable to change pin. i cant for the life of me get the mobile network to come on. I even tried to go to the sprint site and enter my imei and sim card and it said it was suspended or deactivated does anybody have any ideas?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 8520. Its a couple of year old device. It has started giving some trouble nowdays.
1. trackpad hangs most of the time
2. It takes almost 20 mins to reboot
3. the biggest issue - it doesn't starts with BIS activated sim card after rebooting. Have to do battery pull out 3-4 times then it works.
I have done master reset couple of times but nothing is working. any one suggest something which will help me resolve it on my own. Otherwise have to give it to the service center.
How do I change my settings to "private caller" so the person I am calling doesn't see my phone number or name??

Meanwhile I was given a temp one. The number appears when I press send but although my number has now been transferred, the temp number still appears when I press send. Don't remember whether I input the number when setting up or whether it appeared automatically when the phone read the sim card. Please is there a way of me entering the new number or do I need to wait for Orange to do something, or tell Orange?I'm sure there is a very simple answer.
I "upgraded" to OS 6.0. Now my BB will not allow me to click on a phone number that I see on the internet and dial it. I have to read the number, memorize it, close the browser, and push in the numbers manually. T-Mobile keeps telling me that it is the webpage that I am on, but it clearly not that. OS 6.0 is quite the downgrade. Can anybody hear any of the lousy notifers that they call ringtones? The helpdesk directs you to buy ringtones from appworld.

I have changed the phone number from the one supplied to my previous number to avoid having to notify all my cotacts of a new number. When I go into the calls screen (the one brought up when you press the green phone button) On the "My Number" line it is still showing the supplied number not the one I have changed to. I went into the Virgin Media Store today but I was informed that it cannot be altered.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have set up my Curve 8360 but I cannot adjust the number of rings of the actual phone as I can for other notifiers. I have seen the message in the Blackberry manual that says that this might be controlled by the provider - in this case Vodafone. I have contacted them but they say they have no control over this. They can provide me with a code to extend the time before it goes to voicemail but it does not affect the number of rings. I can amend the volume and I have control over the vibration and LED but I can't change the number of rings from the current 1.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI sync contacts with a corporate Exchange / Outlook account. I can manage contacts on the phone or PC. Any contact who has say a business, home or mobile number and a fax number specified, if I go to the dialer, start typing their name, it does show the contact and a number (no indication of type such as fax or cell) so I tap that choice. Sadly, no, I can't just tell from looking at the number if it is fax or not. The phone dials the fax # which of course is incredibly annoying to my ear and that this dumb phone doesn't know not to try a fax number as the first choice for any contact who has a fax number.
I know I can set the default number per contact but I have hundreds of contacts and to go through each one to see if they have a fax and change it would really suck. Is there seriously no way to tell the phone not to use fax as first choice by default?
After transferring a number from a previous carrier to a new carrier, I can no longer receive iMessages from my telephone number. People can only iMessage me if they know my Apple ID. I've tried restoring the phone, but I'm always faced with 'error' in the iMessage settings window.
