BB Curve :: No Access To Micro Sd Files?

View 7 RepliesI have recently upgraded to the BB curve 9300 and I'm having trouble with gaining access to my micro sd card files(pics/ring tones) that are on the card.
View 7 RepliesI am looking for some help on getting access to media that was encrypted on the 128MD micro SD card that came with my original BB Curve (qwerty). Some time back my original BB was damaged and my company's internal IT dept gave me a temporary Curve BB (azerty). That BB came with an SD card which I replaced with my original SD card. When my new BB Curve (qwerty) got in, I handed over the temporary one (azerty) and kept my original micro SD card. Now I need to access the content of that micro SD card and am having a hard time doing so.
I can't remember if the original micro SD card was only encrypted with a password or a device key as well.
I have tried to use what I think the encryption key was on the micro SD I need to access by use of the new BB Curve (qwerty). I get my 5 try's then remove and re-insert the micro SD card.
All this to no avail. Now, the content is very important to me and I am willing to go through any formal process to get at the content. Can anyone tell me how to reach someone at RIM (BlackBerry) to discuss this, or if there is any legal way of getting at the content. (I can confirm the content before it is decrypted).
The issues I have here are:
1) not sure if the card was encrypted with a password and a device key (in which case I have a further dilemma in that the original device (BB Curve qwerty) has been retired and is no longer available for use) or just a password. Is there a way to find this out?
2) Because I use so many different passwords on all the devices I have to use, I am not even sure I am trying the right one for this micro SD card. Plus having gone from a qwerty to azerty, then back to a qwerty keyboard, I am not sure I am using the right password to decrypt. I am however able to provide the full password if given the 1st character of the encryption password.
I am not looking to do anything illegal but truly need to access the encrypted content. As such I am reaching out to the community and looking for any help available such as contact at RIM, formal process to decrypt, hints, clues. Anything to move this forward.
I want to copy files on my micro sd card and delete other files. I read a lot about the problems with the micro sd card after kitkat. I tried several things. But I could not find a solution. On windows I can copy files on the micro sd card and delete - but as soon as I insert the card in the phone, everything is in the old condition. Any way, how I can easy change files on my micro sd with Lollipop 5.1.

Her problem is she can't play any of the music she downloads. She uses a site called MP3 SKULL and had a ton of music on her last phone that played perfectly . She spent ages last night downloading stuff but it only saves 18 secs worth and says it is an unsupported format when she tries to play!

If you had a thumb drive and you put it in USB port, you would open up My Computer to access files, right? How would I do this w/ my BB?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy cell phone is an LG Rumour 2 or an LG 265. I bought a nexxtech 8 GB Micro-SD card with an SD-to-Micro-SD adapter from The Source....Canada's Radio Shack. Using the Micro-SD to SD adapter, the card won't read in my PC, even though regular SD cards work find. The card is recognized by my cell phone and can see three folders, DCIM, MUSIC and BLUETOOTH, and I've taken and saved one picture on the card.
I bought a micro-USB cable to connect to my PC but when I connect the LG Rumour 2 to the PC, the PC does not recognize it. What software do I need to install on the phone and/or on my PC in order to connect the cell-phone to the PC and download MP3 files to it? I have visited the LG website and I'll download the software there, but it's not clear what software I need to use to do what I want to do.My phone version information is:
S/W Version
CV265G04
H/W Version
Rev1.0
PRL Version
PRL 30408
Browser Version
Infraware Polaris 6.01
MCL Version
5.3.1
I bought this 128 GB SDHC card. When I try to load music onto it, it recognizes about 10 GB and then everything after that it says "player does not support this kind of file," though it's all just mp3s or m4as, both of which the card is recognizing. The files get loaded onto the card but can't be played, or even organized by artist or title. I've tried formatting, no good. I even contacted the seller and had him send me a new one, but the same problem occurred, so it's not a defect in one single card. I've tried loading the files through a card reader and directly through the phone, no luck. If it's a 128 GB card, how come it won't recognize any files past 10 GB?
Update: I just ran SD Insight on my phone. It tells me the model is APPSD and the size of the card is 134 GB. However, under manufacturer, it says, "SD card is invalid." Some more info from the scan: Serial #0x687, manufactured June 2015, SD card specification: physical layer version 2.00, CPRM security support: SDHC card (security version 2.00).

When I access my phone through my PC, the files do show, but from my phone I get a message like this: Unable to display file/Device/Blackberry.exe. View 1 Replies View RelatedI would like to think that I am somewhat OK with using the XOOM based on the fact that I have an original DROID and have been dealing with the ANDROID OS for some time now. I have yet to load any files on the XOOM itself, but I was wondering how I go about accessing files once they are put on the XOOM. I have uploaded pictures and placed those in the picture folder but they are easy to find due to the gallery. When plugged into my laptop I can see all of the different folders, but I cannot figure out how to get to them when not plugged into the laptop. You can do a long touch on the DROID homescreen and it will give you the options of seeing, shortcuts, widgets, folders and wallpapers. This is how I would access files with the DROID. It does not work the same for the XOOM.

View 5 Replies View Relatedcool new application that allows you to get access to all your files/folders on your n900 from any pc with IE or another browser so long as you are on wifi.
there are two parts to install:
tiny smb & tiny smb gui.install the server first then the gui.
if you have rootfs installed:
open xterm
sudo gainroot
apt-get install tinysmb
apt-get install tinysmbgui
to get it to work and find out what your ip address is on the n900,
open xterm
/sbin/ifconfig wlan0 | grep inet
then go to your computer, open a browser that is connected to the same network, and type in the ip address of the n900 and you will see all your files/folders pop up like explorer.
Recently I've installed quite a lot of applications, so when I went to open the Installation Files folder, there is nothing in it, and it goes back to home screen.I know that the problem is that is having difficulties reading all the data, there is like 400MB of .sis applications on my phone. My questions is how to uninstall or delete some of the applications. Is there a way to do it from a computer, because I can't find the folder where the applications are installed.
