View 3 RepliesMy phone wont connect to my network service provider. its doing it randomly and gives no service for periods of time... i have tried pulling the battery for a hard reset and have turned the connections off and on but it makes no difference... is it just the model? i have had major problems with my last curve 9330 as well with it freezing and locking me out and constantly crashing and reseting and giving me a blank screen.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been receiving fowarded messages on a day to day basis and it always cuts out after a paragraph or two. Can anybody shed some light onto this problem I've been having. I believe it might be the network I'm on, or is it something else.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've got Googe maps, BTC Mapper, and Endomondo on my phone. They all use GPS to track you, plot where you have been, and save tracks for you to chek out later. They work nice. I use them a lot for walking, running, and bicycling. My question though, is the GPS actually using the GPS satellites in orbit, or is it using triangulation off several cell towers to get my location? If it is using GPS satellites, why is it that if I turn off all connections (Mobile Network Sprint & Wi-Fi), I lose all GPS connections as well? If this device is atually getting signals from the satellites, what difference does it make if I am in a cell coverage area or not?I've read that, yes, the location is retrieved from the satellites, but to plot it on the maps takes the cell connection. If that is the case, is there an app that just logs longitude and latitude every second and stores it in a file that can be dumped to a map at a later time?
The reason I bring all this up is because, later this summer, I plan to go on a 2-week long cruise that will visit about a dozen different Carribean islands and I'd like to track my location. At sea, I won't be able to pick up a cell signal. Will the GPS tracking apps like google, still work? Even if I can't get a cell signal, my GPS should still be able to pick up satellite signals

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am not sure if any of you are as upset by this as I am, but it does not appear that I will ever be able to use WiMax in my home area (Directly north of Indy). The only possible redeeming possibility is if the Photon can be upgraded to LTE via software fix (similar to the Xoom). I have heard talk from multilple forums that it may be compatible since it has a sim card and that there is LTE in the build.prop file.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have been using google and this forum's seach feature to try to get the answer to my question, but I've read different things and ended up confused.First of all, I have unlocked my Spring Samsung and uploaded the 01040 Cricket PRL and it seems to be working because when I dial 611 I get a message from Cricket. Over the air programming doesn't seem to work when dialing *228, and from reading threads I am guessing I will have to do it manually.I am confused as to at what step do I call Cricket Customer service to get some info I need. Plus, from reading another topic someone said I need to get the min#, mdn#, and sid# http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...nstinct-please from Cricket CS, is this correct? Or what info do I need to ask Cricket CS in order to continue to QPST configuration?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI switched from my Nextel 8350i to the new Bold 9650 on Sprint. So they had to switch networks for me. I already had a sprint.blackberry.net email established over at Nextel - but when
I go online at the sprint.blackberry.com site to add my emails - it won't let me add this one - if I put in the info as an established email - it asks me for the server name. I talked to tech support a good 40 minutes with no help what so ever! I even looked into it like they may have canceled my email - but when I enter it as a new one it says it's taken. So anyone know how I can add my existing blackberry email account to this new phone/network?
The battery on my daughter's BB Curve 9300 went completely flat the other day and will no longer charge in the usual way. However, we have found another way to recharge the battery and after inserting it fully charged to the handset re-booted.
It all re-booted ok but when the password screen appeared it wouldn't respond to any keys on the handset and she can't enter the password. The handset is now permantently locked and won't even switch it off. We've tried removing the battery and re-booting (several times) but no luck.
Is there a dock for the Curve 3G 9330? Something that would let me "stand up" the phone on a night stand as an Alarm Clock and charge (or run phone on DC, non-battery power) at the same time?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI see that you can rollback your OS on virtually all Blackberry phones for various reasons. I have a customer that is wanting to rollback their OS to 4.7 on their Curve 9330 so they can run a farming application called Smart Cow that can only run on OS 4.7!

View 1 Replies View Relatedafter arguing with sprint for hours and trying to "legally" get PAM added to my account with no avail, i got tired of arguing and hung up and decided to see if i could get around it on a BB while still having a decent plan.well you can.
These instructions are at your own risk, and while i was able to do it to both a curve and a pearl, and im assuming since all BB's are about the same it should work on the tour and 8830, it's at your own risk.
I am not posting this from my normal username, as it's a little risky for me to do so so please know that i've had plenty of posts on here and been around since '04 Ok so here goes.Step 1: Install QPST 2.7 build 215 (this is very important, no other one will work, find it yourself )
Step 2: Obtain your MSL/SPC from Sprint (if you dont already have it)Step 3: Get your PowerVision Username (if you dont know it, you can do ##xxxxxx and press call from the homescreen x=msl/spc, it's the [URL] in the list)Step 4: Start BBDM and QPST Configuration at the same time, then once you add the port to QPST, selct "Service Programming" from the drop down menu.
Step 5: Select your phone in the list, dont worry it will act like it doesnt know the chipset model, select SURF6300 BB from the list and say OK
Step 6: go to the MIP tab Step 7: Create a new MIP profile that looks just like this (except in the NAI and Tethered NAI, you'll enter your PV username) -- once you're done you will have two profiles, the first one im assuming is for provisioning and i wouldnt mess with it.
Step 8: click "OK" then "write to phone", it will give an error about the model changing on com X, do you want to close the connection?, say NO it will write anyway, then you will get another error about the phone not responding.. that's because it rebooted.Step 9: once the phone reboots, create a manual DUN connection (i assume if you're on here and understand how to use PST you can make a DUN connection ) with the connection as follows:
Phone number: #777 Username/password fields are blank..
I have a cell phone so I can place and recieve calls and my 9330 won't place calls (it "connects" but there s no sound and when the person "I called" answers there is a clicking sound), answer calls (it rings, and the "talk" nor "select" buttons work) nor play media files through the media plaers (I always get the same error msg "there was an error in playback"). I have no idea if it is related, but "app world" disappeared as well as any screen identifying the OS. I am stymied, frustrated and on my way to being really upset.

I've tried several times and it keeps coming up with the same error message. I did a try and redownload the software but it still doesn't work. Does anyone have any suggestions?
