Just when I think the E75 cannot get any worse (it has slightly worse reception than 2 tin cans and a bit of wet string!!), Nokia send me a OS upgrade that will "result in improved performance"! Tragically, it continuously comes up with the great message "Installation failed due to lost connectivity; do not disconnect USB connection during installation"! Now, whilst I am not the sharpest tool in the shed, even I can see that disconnecting the cable would not be condusive to a successful software upgrade, so of course I am not doing that! I am about to wind the clock back over 10 years and resort to my trusty 6150.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI got the Nokia e63 in April 2010. One of the things I did first was:
1. Update Ovi Store app on the phone
2. Ran Nokia Maps on the phone (applicaiton already on the phone) or downloaded Ovi Maps from the Ovi Store - cant remember.
3. Regardless of how I did (2) I managed to install country maps for specific areas (US New York, UK etc) by using Ovi PC Suite
So all ok so far. Now I started putting more applications and games on the phone but it kept getting slower and slower - to a point it would not render the screen properly or mix two screens into one. I have a 2 gig memory card in it with only less than 20% in use - the phone memory had over 80Meg free. So really could not understand why it performed so badly. Anyway I spent several hours resetting the phoning and doing all the above again - but OVi Maps does not install any more (I get Installation Failed message).
To add more headache - the internet was very slow and I had to attempt several times to update Ovi Store after each reset - finally gave up and had to use a WLAN connection. When I go to the Ovi Store web site on my pc and find Ovi Maps - there is now a message saying its not available for e63. Yet that was not what I recall because I have installed Ovi Maps on the phone before and installed the additional country maps on several occassions (the last one being as recent as May 2010 - last month) All of a sudden Ovi Maps is not compatible with the Nokia E63? The Ovi Store app on the phone gives no indication of compatibilty issue with the phone - so you can keep downloading it and using up your internet allowance and it keeps failing to install without giving any useful message.
Installing Skype from the Ovi store I get the message "Installation failed". Did anyone else got this message and know how to solve this predicament?

View 11 Replies View RelatedFor some weeks now im getting "installation fails" message when trying to install some of the software from OVI or from downloaded files. For example, Nokia Sleeping Screen. It downloads and the Ovi bar says "installing" then a smaller window appear in the lower section of the screen saying "preparing installation" then "Installing" then after a few seconds "installation Failed. Some apps for example Spotify installs perfectly, but here the bottom window don't appear at all. I have made a full reset, problem remains. I did a 3 finger reset, problem remains.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to control few SE mobile models such as W595, W705 and more in remote via serial module (Hyper Terminal and others). After a period of time where things went smoothly I ran into 2 major problems:
1. Only the first device is installed correctly on the pictures. All other devices identified as "Other devices” and it takes a lot of time (more than 10 minute) till the second device driver are installed.
2. When I run an automation test which communicate with the SE device via serial (using the comport identified in the device manager as management) suddenly the device stops response to the serial commands from any serial tool (my application, Hyper Terminal, etc). What I see is that the device remain identified in the device manager but doesn't response. When I close the serial session and reopen it I get the response of the previous command.
Cant update using the Companion Software.

View 19 Replies View RelatedI flashed a custom ROM to my nexus 5 and was using it for the last few months. But today, I decided to rollback to latest stock ROM. And I double clicked "flash-all.sh" and it failed after few seconds. I could not see what happened so I again ran the executable under terminal and seen it failed again. I just remmebered that I hadn't unlocked the bootloader before running the script. Now, the phone is not turning on at all. It only vibrates if I hold the power button for some seconds, 6 seconds actually and if I hold the button for longer times, it keeps vibrating every 6 seconds.
I am not even getting the Google logo thing.

I cannot begin to tell you the frustrating experience I have had trying to load Ovi Maps 3.03 onto my N97. Suffice it to say that every step of the way has been a painful experience that has seriously threatened my loyalty to a brand that I have always been loyal to. I'm still not there yet. Having followed instructions and loaded the latest version of firmware (20.0.019) via my PC, the automatic loading software then loaded version 3.01 of Ovi Maps (WHY wasn't 3.03 loaded? - it's the latest version!). I proceeded to the Software Updater app on my PC to upload the latest version (3.03). It did recognize the latest version and proceeded to download the software to my PC for installation onto my phone. During the upgrade to my phone, the installation failed and a message appeared "Installation failed 6:19".
I tried to install again, but using the updater app on my PC, it doesn't recognize the need for an upgrade to 3.03 (does it think the upgrade has worked?). Back to my phone to try using the software updater app installed there. It does recognize the fact that a later version of Ovi Maps is available and allows me to try and install it, and a message appears "Installing Ovi Maps with free navigation (1 of 1)", however seconds later another message appears "Result: 1 update failed View update history". Clicking on the View bit helpfully takes me to the log, which unhelpfully shows the message "Ovi Maps with free navigation Installation failed at 6:25" and NO OTHER information about why the installation failed or what to do to recover it. So now I am stuck with an updater on the PC which doesn't recognize the need to do an update and an updater on the phone, which does recognize the need, but fails EVERY time.
I'm using Nokia 5233 and getting "installation failed" error every time i download any game from Ovi store. I have done hard reset and soft reset for phone thinking it would fix this but all in vain.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI found some applications, such as foursquare and Dropian, cannot be installed on my E7. Other applications, such as Gravity and Y-Browser, were installed without a problem though. I tried both of Ovi Store on the device itself and Ovi Store on PC, but both failed. I am not sure, but I guess it might be related to a Qt issue because Dropian is a Qt-based application. For your reference, my device firmware is up-to-date.
