I have not messed with upgrading the software or anything since then but now too many programs are requiring 3.1 software. Jun 23, 2010I had never checked the option to convert higher bit rate songs to 128 Kbps on my old 3GS. Therefore my music was taking up over 14 gb out of the mere 32 on my phone. Well, while adjusting what I would sync onto the new iP4, I decided to try this setting. My music now only consumes 6.7 GB. that's a big space savings. I wanted to add a couple of HD movies to see what they looked like on the retnia display, so this has really helped.

Aug 22, 2010Got my 32 GB iPhone 4 yesterday and set up as a new device using the same playlist of music that I used on my 32 3gs. I check marked the box to convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC just like I had in the past with the 3gs. With the 3gs it brought a playlist consisting of 4625 songs at 26.70 GB down to 17 GB. With the iPhone 4 synced it does the same in the drop down menu under devices then iPhone in Music then at the bottom it lists the playlist that I use, both read 4625 songs at 17 GB. At the summary page with the bar at the bottom it reads I have 23.29 GB of audio on the iPhone and unplugging going to settings then about it reads 4625 songs at 23.29 GB. So I only have 4.48 GB free when I should have around 9 or 10. I resynced twice to see if it would change with the same outcome, restored the device and called apple care with no answer on why it reads different.Going to the Apple Store tomorrow unless one of you has a solution to this.

On my LG Optimus 7 I find text in the browser to be really spidery in comparison, and I assume that this is because of the lower screen res. Apr 7, 2010If I use the option to convert higher bit rate songs to 128 AAC for my iPhone, I can no longer see my ringtones that I've synced on the iPhone itself. When I plug the iPhone in, iTunes shows that they are on my phone but when selecting ringtones for contacts, they are not visible. When I uncheck the option and resync, the ringtones are now there. I've tried changing the name of the tones but no luck. Anyone else have this issue or a solution?

Sep 15, 2011Is it me or does it seem that the battery graphic on the notification bar is not telling the true story? The phone (in settings) and widgets say 70% but the icon is in no way close to 3/4 full. It looks more like 90%. It always looks fuller then the battery truly is. I do understand that 70% can be anywhere between 70-79 but that's not close to what it shows on top. It's like Apple and the signal bars and how they showed higher then reality.

Aug 18, 2015Since acquiring a G4 recently I've noticed something weird going on with the phone's battery stats report. For some reason the Phone App is always listed as the highest battery consumer, even in circumstances when the screen should definitely be at the top with upwards of 4 hours of SOT.
Here's a shot from today after being off a full charge for about 15 hours and 1.5 hours of SOT (a good chuck of this was overnight idle).
This is happening on every full recharge even after rebooting and full charging in an off state.
However, the GSam report looks much more normal and closer to what I would expect to see

Jun 28, 2012Basically, I listen to music on my S2 while riding my motorbike, and yesterday I noticed that at higher speeds the music gets slower and even "blurry", sounded similar to the old (showing my age now) tape disks when the tape was dirty or stuck or lose. I keep my S2 in my right side pocket inside my jacket, and noticed when while this problem appears I press lightly against the phone it returns to normal again. Sometimes it stays normal for a little while, sometimes it reverts back to this 'broken' sound as soon as I stop pressing it lightly.Later I shut the phone down and powered it back up, hoping that may sort it out, but the problem still persists. It appears it's not every time it happens. Earlier this morning at higher speeds nothing happened, later on it returned however.
