Upgraded 8900 Curve with 5.0 and now receive message "unable to allocate audio channel" and do not have any sound capabilities (i.e no ringing, no alerts, no music). Tried hard reboot a few times.

Randomly and without changing any settings, my iPhone has started only outputting the left channel of stereo audio, i.e. when I play a song on it I only hear it through the left channel. I've tried different sets of headphones, same story. Also it has stopped responding to volume changes via the inline remote - play/pause still works...
View 3 Replies View RelatedIt seems that the left audio channel likes to drop out at random intervals. At first I thought it might have to do with notifications but I have also observed it without any notifications.
This happens regardless of the music application (actually, I can only confirm for Amazon MP3 and Music Beta since I have not played the others long enough). When this happens, I pause, unplug for a few seconds, then plug and resume playback to get the fidelity back.
Not getting Twitter notifications on Icon? I have the toast/push notifications turned on. For some reason, whenever I go to settings to make sure they're turned on, I get a notification at the top of the screen that says,
Twitter was unable to create a push notification channel. Please ensure network connectivity and try restarting the app.
I'm on full-service 4G LTE and have also tried just using perfectly fine wifi.
Noticed this a week or two ago and now I don't get toast notifications or live tile updates unless I turn off my phone and then upon restarting I get flooded with all of the notifications since my last turn off.
Also, using the official Twitter app.

With a modest set of apps and removal of the unused games, etc. I have a base level of around 40MB left for use. Daily use rediced that to 10-16 MB and if lower I get low memory displays, and need to reboot to recover the available memory. The consumed memory is in the Other category. This was never an issue with OS 5, which I'd guess had a smaller OS. Any content I store is on the media card. Is there a way to allocate memory differently, direct any operational cache or buffer to the media card, or some other action to reconcile the consumption or lack of available memory?

But for some reason it decides to not play certain songs and i get a notification at the bottom of the screen saying "unable to play audio file". I have tried the songs on another sd card have to same problem? They are genuine sd cards not no budget fake ones. Is there anything i can do to get the songs to work. There all MP3.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading to iOS 5.1.1 I have not been able to get any sustained audio out of the phones speakers. By sustained, I mean that I will occasionaly get "blips" of sound, but they only last for a few seconds and then stop.
Phone info:
Network - AT&T
iPhone Model - MC319LL
IOS version - 5.1.1 (9B208)
1) This problem first occured while using the "WhiteNoise" app, it started to play the audio, cut off, and it audio has been intermitten ever since.
2) I believe the issue is software related because the audio controls are missing (see screen shots)
Photo 1 = Audio Controls with the headphones plugged in
Photo 2 = Audio Controls without the headphones plugged in (not the missing volume bar)
Photo 3 = Pressing the volume buttons (+,-) without the headphones plugged in (No volume "boxes")
Photo 4 = Pressing the volume buttons (+,-) with the headphones plugged in
3) When selecting the "ring tone" from the Settings menu the selected tone will play with out issue through the speakers
4) Occasionaly UIAlert Messages play audio tones without issue (ESPN's sports scores app for example) Steps I have taken to resolve the issue:

My memory card stops working and when I turn the phone off and back on again, it tells me "memory needs to be formated" or something like this. So it knows that there is a memory card in it, but it cant read it. And now, the display goes crazy ( it looks like a TV channel with bad signal). Sometimes, it fixes itself just with time, and sometimes, it doesn't even when I remove the battery and put it back in. I have tried flashing the phone and updating it, but nothing works.

While I was editing a video from my Lumia 1020 in Final Cut X, I found than phone recording audio only in right channel. Left channel source is totally quiet. When I try to record video via default WP Camera app, there is no sound at all. In Nokia Camera there is a sound, but only for right channel. I've tried hard reset, but with no success.

Even if the phone is locked and the screen is off, the message pop up unlock the phone and appears for 3-5 seconds and then disappear and the phone get bac to be locked and screen is off.

I have a new HTC one M8 and a 64gb sd card. Last week my phone deleted an album that was playing fine. Put the songs back on the phone, played for a couple of days and now says that won't play - "unable to play this type of audio file".

I am a frequent listener to streaming audio, especially while out and about (driving around the local area, in the grocery store, etc.). Most of what I listen to is from twit.am (either via the TwitDroid app or sometimes StreamFurious Pro), but I also use several radio-oriented apps (such as iHeartRadio or uneIn Radio).
I've never been able to keep a stream going for more than 10 minutes without it dropping. I always thought it was due to sketchy 3G coverage here in the Hudson Valley but had no way of testing that theory until today, when I remembered that the Google CR48 that I am testing has built-in Verizon 3G. So, to test the DroidX hardware defect theory, I took the CR48 in the car with me today on 50 mile round trip from Hyde Park to Fishkill and back. I listened to twit.am the whole way and did not experience a single dropout!
Case closed, it seems to me.
Any thoughts on whether this issue is confined to the DroidX (e.g. are there other Moto android phones that don't have the issue)? What about other vendors like HTC or Samsung, do they suffer similar problems? I'm considering whether to stay with Moto when I am eligible for an upgrade this coming June. At this point I am inclined to jump ship because of this issue.
