BB Torch :: 9800 No Circuit/Channel Available?
Jul 8, 2011My phone is:Blackberry 9800 Torch 6.0 Bundle 695 (v6.0.0.246, Platform 6.4.0.105)I tried the battery pull many many times and updating the software(somehow its the latest OS) and everything to fix it but its not working..I bought my phone from Indonesia and bring it to Australia and change the sim into optus prepaid,but with australia's sim card I can't make call to any Australia phone not even sending message( it work if I msg and call to indonesia's phone).But it work alright with my Indonesia's sim card and it even able to send message to australia's number and can even call it.When i tried to call it give that "no circuit/channel available" or "you dont have enough credit"(i've got enough credit and I've check it) and when i try to message there will be a "check" icon on it but its not arriving..I can receive call and receive msg from australia's number.So is blackberry only useable in the country that we bought it? or are there any restriction?

Sep 10, 2010I have only had it a month and everything was fine until a few days ago.I think im going to go mental on this phone becasue its really annoying me.Quite often when attempting to make a phone call the message 'no circuit/channel available' will come up and i cannot make or receive phone-calls.After looking at various other threads i found that this is usually a problem with people on the vodafone network (which i am not on) and is something to do with 3G. Now, having read other threads, turning 3G off and using only 2G solves the problem, but then, what is the point of having 3G if you cannot use it, right? I also dont have the problem in my house as i use wi-fi to connect to my wireless router and boost the signal.

Sep 13, 2011I'm having issues with a wallpaper saved from the gallery. Most of the times it will stick, but about 20% of the time the default red circuit board wallpaper will return. Phone is still functional and if I put it to sleep then reawake, most of the times my gallery wallpaper will return. Really odd. Happens sometimes right after I save a new wallpaper or sometimes later that day after multiple "wake ups".
I was thinking of locating the default wallpapers and placing my pics in there, but if I pick one of the other stock wallpapers, it has done it there, too. Right back to the default circuit board.

This happens regardless of the music application (actually, I can only confirm for Amazon MP3 and Music Beta since I have not played the others long enough). When this happens, I pause, unplug for a few seconds, then plug and resume playback to get the fidelity back.

My memory card stops working and when I turn the phone off and back on again, it tells me "memory needs to be formated" or something like this. Jul 1, 2010I have always wondered on my Blackberry Bold 9700 under Options-SMS Text and go down to Network To Send Over and it gives me 4 options:
Circuit Switched
Circuit Switched Preferred
Packet Switched Preferred
Packet Switched
My Network is Circuit Switched Preferred, but i would like to know if anyone knows what these mean and which is the best for SMS Texts to be sent over using which one?

Mar 26, 2014Not getting Twitter notifications on Icon? I have the toast/push notifications turned on. For some reason, whenever I go to settings to make sure they're turned on, I get a notification at the top of the screen that says,
Twitter was unable to create a push notification channel. Please ensure network connectivity and try restarting the app.
I'm on full-service 4G LTE and have also tried just using perfectly fine wifi.
Noticed this a week or two ago and now I don't get toast notifications or live tile updates unless I turn off my phone and then upon restarting I get flooded with all of the notifications since my last turn off.
Also, using the official Twitter app.

May 4, 2010I was given a BB Curve 8310 to attempt a repair. When I attach the USB cable to the BB the system tray does not pop up with a notification that says "found new hardware" like it normally does when you plug a BB in. When the phone boots up it displays error msg " JVM Error 513". I attempted to looking into the device by using "cracmem" and "JL_Cmder" and no data is to be found and thus there is nothing to wipe. I suspect that the device has already been wiped thus the no data. I have pulled the battery from the phone and reinstalled; unplugged the usb cable during the BB boot process and nothing is happening. The DM application loader will not allow me to procede due to computer not recognizing the BB device thus it is not generating the "USB:UNKNOWN".

The only way I can get off this screen is to press Discard, which takes me back to where I started! I just keep going round in circles.

Jun 9, 2010I have a Curve 8520 from TMobile (US).I also had a Pearl 8100 from Fido (Canada).I got the Curve unlocked and want to use it on the Fido network instead of the Pearl. I seem to have gotten everything working on the Curve, except for the email.I had the same email accounts (gmail, hotmail) set up on both phones, but for some reason now that I've switched over to the Curve on the Fido network, I can't send or receive email.I've checked all my settings, and they seem right.I can access the web, my Wi-Fi is set up, and I can send & receive texts. Anyone have any ideas about this email problem? Also, I can't remember my account username for the BB website to access my account online to change the email.When I ask to send my password, it says it has been sent to my BB, but of course I can't receive email, so I'm not getting it.
