The "Sounds and Alerts" icon on my Curve will not launch either on the main screen or the small icon in the left top corner. I can still change the sounds by clicking "Tools".
View 1 Repliesthe Hotspot Browser icon shows on the main menu but when I click on it nothing happens. If I select the Hotspot Browser icon and then press the Menu key, I get kicked into the main menu. Have searched far and wide for the answer to this problem, but no luck. Most posts complaining about the Hotspot Browser are about getting a connection to the Internet. I am not even that far -- the browser simply doesn't load.I have a BB email plan and wifi. The wifi works fine for email with the mobile network turned off, so I know that my Wifi settings are fine.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried opening Device manager (not desktop manager) to fix the gps problem on my phone per a thread i found right here on crackberry. I downloaded all the necessary software to do the fix, but when i open up Device Manager, i only get an icon on the quicklaunch bar on the bottom right side of the screen, once i open it, all it shows me is "Properties" and it doesnt open the actual Device Manager.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had many smart phones, all of which you can have the email and text alerts be two different sounds. The HTC One M8 is setup just like they are. You select the notification sound in the settings app and that changes the email alert. You then go into the text app and from the settings there you can change the text alert to something else. Simple, except the text sound will not change.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI did the most recent update for May23, 2012 and since I updated the phone I no longer am receiving sounds on alerts or incoming texts. Also when i type on the keyboard, there is no sound. My music works no problem and when I test the ring tones, they all come up on the speaker, but my phone now only vibrates when there's a new text. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I have checked all my settings, reset the phone and everything and still no sound.

It seems this is a common issue in iPhone 4S when upgrade to iOS 7.1.2.
Anything I can do to resolve the issue especially that my work deepens on the push emails and alerts that requires prompt response.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI cant change or set the ring tones and alerts on my phone. I go to Sounds scroll to Set ring tones/Alerts, click on but nothing happens. It just sits there with Set ring tones/Alerts highlighted but doing nothing? It used to work ok and I have used it to change and set ring tones in the past but now nothing happens. It never moves from that screen. Any ideas you clever clogs out there?

The phone is about year old.Every time I try to use the high speed camera setting the screen turns blue. The normal videos and pictures dont come out good either.Anyone else have these issues? Any suggestions on how to clean the camera lens?Another issue is I had an Env2 think the vx9200 that had my ringtones and music on a memory card.I put that same card into the Dare and I can't set my sounds as a ringtone.The ones under 30 seconds I can but not the full songs like I could on the Evn. Is there a certain setting or specific way to use sounds for ringtones and alerts?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy iphone 3GS has no sounds now except the phone ringer. I have toggled the mute switch back and forth and it makes no difference. When I go into settings for sounds I see at the top that it is marked silent. However I cannot find any way to switch that off and reset it back to sounds. The only thing that seems to work now is vibrate and the phone ring.

My iPhone 6 Plus is less than a 2 weeks old but since day one its speaker sounds distorted.  The ringer or alerts or even the new email alert have a popping or clangy sound to them. Is this a software issue or hardware? My phone is uptodate and Ive tried hard reboots to try to alleviate the problem but it didn't fix the problem. Should I try to restore it?Â

I've got a Razr Maxx and over the past 3 days, my phone has been sounding the Highwire ringtone for some unknown reason randomly and sometime 5 or 6 times in a row. There's no message corresponding, no notifications. Just random alert sounds and i don't have Highwire set to any apps or alerts.I don't really want to remove the 10 apps or so i've installed in the past few days, i'd rather get down to the source of the problem

I called AT&T Support they transferred me over to advanced support, the woman there catogorically stated there is no compatible version of BB Maps with the 9700, doesn't exist. This Morning I decided to investigate my Application Folder or Inventory on the 9700 and sure enough its there, unless I have a broken brain under 3 rd party applications it says " Blackberry Maps 5..0.0" 7 modules installed and it shows the Update Date, the purchase date I connected to Blackberry Desk Top Manager and upgraded all the software.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI downloaded ringtones from crackberry a couple hours ago and now my ringers won't work and when I try to play ringtones in the media application it won't let me play them. I tried going through the profiles to make sure they weren't muted or off and nothing is working. I had the exact same problem less than 24 hours ago and the cell phone place just gave me a new phone because they couldn't figure it out either. If I could get some kind of direction as to what I need to do I would appreciate it greatly.

Launching the camera app by mistake is annoying and it happens from time to time.
I tried Settings > Display & gestures > Motion Launch gestures but it looks like I'll have to disabled the whole thing.
My Vivaz no longer alerts me when I get a text, there is no sound or vibration, it is not on silent mode and I've checked in my message settings the volume and that a sound is supposed to play when a text arrives. The envelope that used to show at the top of the screen when I received a text no longer appears either. The only way to know if I've got a new message is to go into my inbox where it appears; the side of the phone will then flash but still no sound. I ran a software update, then a reset and software update, but neither have made any difference. Also am I able to transfer my existing texts to the memory card so I don't lose them if I have to get it all wiped?

However, I'ts happened again.My inbox had 3 messages, that I'd not heard a beep for, I had no little envelope icon and no "New Message" alert on the main screen.
As a test, we sent a message to my phone, the message hit the inbox, but there were no notificataions. I changed the profile and sent another text.. same again, no notifications.I rebooted the phone and sent another message.. this time everything worked OK.I'm using a standard message tone as the tone alert..

View 1 Replies View RelatedToday I noticed out of nowhere that my led indicator no longer works for any types of msgs. I am running Berry buzz on my 8900 so i thought maybe it was that....i uninstalled and reinstalled the app and no alerts are working still.
Of course, i initially tried a battery pull...and when i put the battery back in the led went red so i know its not burnt out or anything. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Im thinking of jumping from os .250 to the 5.0 os but im concearned about berry buzz working. Thats my most important app.

Otherwise my BB would be sounding off every couple of minutes! And I don't want that happening at work.However if I get a Text from a family member or friend, I tend to miss it because I've turned off the sound for Texts!
I know I can create an Exception for Phone Calls but how can I do the same for Texts? I would like for a Tone to sound when a Text comes in from a family member or friend, not for every single Twitter Alert!!

I have a MESSAGES folder in my screen when I hit the menu button and in this folder, my missed calls, my bberry messenger (contact my contact by text), and my email is synchd.There as well as in my chosen home screen folders. I understand my email being sent there but my missed calls go to that folder only as well as some of the messenger texts as I stated. I have to hit the menu button, then open a message folder with a mixture of different types of messages and then I have to search for my missed calls and messenger texts in a mix of email. Why are missed calls going there and my messenger text?
