View 1 RepliesBell Mobility in Canada is selling the Storm 9530 (unlocked) for $250 with no contract.I have no intention of using it on Bell but I would like to use it when I go to Europe - maybe on T-Mobile in Croatia.Since the Bell Mobility 9530 has SIM capability will I be able to use it in Croatia for all services?Or do I need firmware flashed for European carrier before I start using the device?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am interested in this phone and it seems that it will work on Bell's new network. I was wondering if anyone can tell me whether or not the radio rom on the ATT phones will work ok in Canada if I add it to my Bell account.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to enable the WiFi Hotspot function on my 9900 on the Bell Mobility network.
I am on BB OS 7.1.0 Bundle 921. When I go to Manage Connections, the Mobile Network is checked and shows Bell; the Wi-Fi is enabled and shows my router. When I enable "Mobile Hotspot" I am asked to "Create a WPA2 Personal passphrase for others to connect to your device. 8-62 characters". I type in a valid string, scroll down, and click OK. I then go to my iPod Touch, select my BB and enter the password. I get "Unable to join the network"..
Alright my LG VX8700 carrier is Bell Mobility, the problem is I cannot access the service menu using the methods described for a Verizon 8700 (##PROGRAM8700) DOES NOT work for me. What happens when i type this in is nothing, my phone tries to call the number. I've been researching all day, to get to the service menu on a Bell Mobility phone its supposed to be ##123456 followed by another # key , with the six numbers being your personal msl or unlock code, from Bell. Basically what I need some ideas for what I could do, I've already tried LGDownloader and it doesnt find a model number for my phone. My other idear is more social, being I call Bell and convince one of the cs reps to give me my unlock code that is used to program your phone when you first get it, the problem being they most likely wont just tell you ( need to edit my proxy for WAP that i've purchased hopke.net). I was reading another thread that says to lie and say like, I was in the process of changing my phone number and then my phone restarted or something.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought a BlackBerry Curve for $10 online through the AT&T website. I ONLY need a phone for phone calls and text messaging. When I called to activate my new SIM card they charged me for a Data Plan ($30 monthly). I learned that I could turn off the Data Usage on the phone itself so that the network does not recognize my phone as a Smartphone and incur Data usage charges. I then called AT&T back to cancel the Data Plan. This was not easy and I insisted that I was using my old Motorola Razor again; otherwise they would not reverse the Data Plan charges.
Since then, my phone has not been able to send or receive any SMS text messages. I also get no error messages whatsoever. This feature had previously worked. Now it doesn't. When I send a text message, it appears to have gone through, but my text recipient indicates otherwise. I also tried to send a text message with my mom's Nokia, but with MY SIM card in it and vise versa; and neither options worked as well.
What is going on? I have been on many forums and can't figure this out. I'm guessing that this is a carrier issue; however, because I got the Data Plan reversed and was adamant about not using a BlackBerry, I can't exactly call them to complain.
I already use my old Iphone 4 strictly as a ipod now but I was wondering if it was possilbe to use it to text in wifi areas without any voice or data plans?I know the new ipod touches have a way to send messages but wasnt sure if I could do the same thing with my old phone.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the 8520, and have no data plan with my carrier in my post payment plan, i thought , since i have wi-fi at home, office and tons of hot spots. I can use my BB to access the web using free wi-fi as i have been doing with my last 4 smartphones.Big mistake. i have been charged 55 us last month, for data transfer use , i ran to my planŽs assistance office ( telcel in Mexico ), and the answer i got was. you have to get a data plan from us to be able to use wi-fi ( obviuosly i stared at her , just nodding my head ).There is no point in having a device that has acces to wi fi networks , if i cant access the wi fi network without you data plan, so i got the lady to bring the tech guy. His response was...naaahhh...it will access the wi fi. but weŽll charge u anyway. you need to disable the network from the phone and only leave the wi fi option on so you can access without any other charge, but this will leave you with no phone connection.
Is this real? did i just spend 399us in a gadget that has wi fi capabilities but will not be able to get on any wi fi connection form home or work, without being charged for data transmission over my cell providers network?cmon this sounds as stupid as it does in my head ? i would be really disapointed if i just left my old Nokia E71 SPhone, for this beautiful BB Curve 8520 THAT DOES NOT CONNECT TO THE WI Fi.
So far I have found 3 apps
-Self-Serve
-Tunes & Apps
-TV & Radio
with accompanying widgets (all 3 on one page left of home)and accompany bookmarks (all 3 in the browser)I could remove the widgets and bookmarks easily enough, but the applications don't have an uninstall option. This **** pisses me off. How do I get rid of them? What else did Bell do to this phone?
give me a link for Qt not Qt mobility)...

View 5 Replies View RelatedWith all due respect, how about someone updating the cycle chart. It's been about 29days now(but who's counting). Seems ICS has been pushed up to Moto XYBoard 10.1; per rumors/leaked info and official sites, etc. They were doing good there for awhile, what happened? Surely the Forum Manager is not responsible for this too!!! Or did Motorola dispose of this part of the team/section too!!!
