I use a curve 9360 phone with a default carrier of T mobile which I had to jailbreak to use my local network. But since then the only available network mode is 2G and '3G & 2G'. I don't av d 3G only option even though my OS is 7.1. And I have people around me using the same model but have the option on theirs. what can I do to change to & remain on 3G only.

I recently upgraded to a BB 9360 and am with Vodacom in South Africa.First thing I did upon receiving the phone was set it up nicely and then WANT to change the Mobile Network options for Network mode from 3G to 2G only but alas, the only options open to me are 3G & 2G or 3G.Now, I'm a paramedic in South Africa and my 9780 Bold's battery lasts an entire shift (12 hours!) but that's with the 2G ONLY option.So obviously I'd like to have this feature back on my 9360!!!I can't afford to go out and buy new batteries!
View 6 Replies View RelatedEver since the new update, 7.1 bundle 2039, the option to switch to 2G has disappeared. I use to switch to 2G to save battery life. My phone doesn't last half a day on 3G mode.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to setup email connection. On this 9360 I do not have any Connection Assistant so I use "setup" mode and "mail accounts" options. Usually (as on my previous Curve 8520) I used to have two options when entering there :
- Use my own email address (personal address) or create a new one
- Use my Enterprise email address
But when I launch Email setup on my curve 9360, I have only the Enterprise option so that I Cannot setup email! My 9360 runs under OS 7.
Under network mode, I only have the options "3G" and "3G & 2G"... I wanted to switch to "2G only" option to lengthen my battery charge but to no avail.. I need some workaround or explanation to how this is possible..

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy daughters phone used to connect as USB and you could see her phone from the computer (iMac, Windows). Now when she chooses USB it does not prompt for password, and only connects for charging as if she chose Charge Only.
I don't think it's the computer, same effect on our iMac and 2 Windows computers. Is there a setting in her phone which needs to be changed, or some software update (it seems to be fully updated)

It goes on when the bar loads but as soon as it gets full, it just restarts the bar again and a little timer in the top left hand corner comes up everytime the bar goes full and re starts it's self.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm from Canada and every time i try to update my os to 7.1, it will not let me do so. It says I need to, but when I try to, my phone disconnects after starting to back up. I tried just backing it up manually, and again it says it disconnects. It always disconnects while it says backing up social feeds. I have a mac and use the blackberry desktop software, which I have uninstalled and reinstalled (updated) more than once.

Is there anyway to make the desktop software to detect the update? If not then i will be trying to update it from apploader. I want to know that I got the blackberry from india, and it must have an OS for the carriers of india. So can I install the OS which is offered by the carriers of UAE on the RIM website? Will it have any effect or harm?
