my phone and it was roasting hot hadto take the cover of it incase it melted I mean it was that hot it was on the charger and this is my second problem with the phone does anyone know why it might have over heated please help as I only got it for Christmas and have had it already replacedfor not working properly and dont want to run out of the 28 days you have to return it
View 1 Repliesmy Blackberry started doing something rather strange 2 days ago while it was sitting on the table for about 3 hours in stand by or whatever it does when you aren't using it. When I picked it up it was really hot even in its holster and I noticed that the battery was critical so I plugged it in after 30 mins it wouldn't charge so I took the battery off the BB allowed it to cool and placed it in the Blackberry again this time it charged and works fine then again today it does it again. Today I disabled Bluetooth and wireless prior to it happening so I know its something else.Now I would normally suspect a bad battery but if so it wouldn't charge and work normally would it?As for performance the only quirk that mine has is that once in a while it freezes (goes to hourglass) for 2 - 3 mins once it did it while I was dialing a call.Its on the latest os or so it says the blackberry desktop.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy bb curve 8520 is about a year old. 3 days ago i noticed the battery went from 100% to 0% in a span of some minutes. i recharged the battery and noticed it kept doing the same thing. I then replaced the battery thinking it had run its course but the problem persists. I have no open programs running and no new applications installed that might be using up the battery. the phone gets warm and the battery dies rapidly.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi got the curve 9320 2 months ago, the first phone was over heating and the battery only lasted 4 hours maximum, so vodafone replaced it, then the second one is now doing excatly the same thing, nothing is switched on, on the phone that would cause the battery to do this, fully charged this morning, not one call or text and the phone is red hot and dead 4 hours later, could this be a manufactoring fault?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy daughters phone used to connect as USB and you could see her phone from the computer (iMac, Windows). Now when she chooses USB it does not prompt for password, and only connects for charging as if she chose Charge Only.
I don't think it's the computer, same effect on our iMac and 2 Windows computers. Is there a setting in her phone which needs to be changed, or some software update (it seems to be fully updated)

It goes on when the bar loads but as soon as it gets full, it just restarts the bar again and a little timer in the top left hand corner comes up everytime the bar goes full and re starts it's self.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm from Canada and every time i try to update my os to 7.1, it will not let me do so. It says I need to, but when I try to, my phone disconnects after starting to back up. I tried just backing it up manually, and again it says it disconnects. It always disconnects while it says backing up social feeds. I have a mac and use the blackberry desktop software, which I have uninstalled and reinstalled (updated) more than once.

Is there anyway to make the desktop software to detect the update? If not then i will be trying to update it from apploader. I want to know that I got the blackberry from india, and it must have an OS for the carriers of india. So can I install the OS which is offered by the carriers of UAE on the RIM website? Will it have any effect or harm?
