My BB Maps does not work.in the top left hand corner it has a satelite with a little red X im guessing it's not picking up signal.refreshing GPC does not help.i cant understand why as it was working fine then after an upgrade on OS a few months ago it stopped completely?

Have a new 8310. OS is v4.5.0.37 Platform 2.7.0.55I'm in Australia, currently with Telstra but in the process of changing. Unfortunately I can't remember where I found the info, but somewhere on my phone it lists 'maps' & poss. program number or such - not in options or apps. It doesn't let me open it tho.When I go to the website & try to download maps, it tells me it's downloaded successfully, but my computer makes noises as if the USB is being disconnected/reconnected and the phone spends ages with a blank screen & hourglass before going to home screen, then there don't appear to be maps anywhere on it? I don't know how to get the GPS working - do I need maps to make it work?All I seem to be able to do is click 'refresh' in the menu & it comes up as 'scanning for satellites but does nothing else.GPS section says; GPS data source: Device GPS GPS Services: Location ON GPS Location: blank All co-ordinates, nuber of satellites, etc say 0 Location aiding: enabled.

(To be noted that Ovi Suite still considers there is a new version of Maps available and would download and install 3.01 again any times I click on update.) When starting Maps the load screen with progress bar appears, then I can see an "empty" map. No keys work. After a few seconds (around 10 or so) the phone restarts.I deleted Cities folder and the file QF, rebooted, reinstalled etc. nothing helps.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm very loyal to Nokia but for some reasons, their presence is now almost non-existent in Canada.I'm looking to buy a new Unlocked Nokia that has a GPS built-in (for turn-turn by turn navigation) with free navigation through Ovi Maps 3.0.3 (I travel to Europe frequently and the free maps would be a great addition).It seems that my only option to buy such phone is through a third-party seller.If I buy let's say the X6 or the N97, will I be able to download the European maps (turn-by-turn without using data) even if I'm Canadian.
Downloaded latest Anna update (025.007) and after that downloaded Nokia Maps 3.08. After installation Maps gives an error message sayin "Device does not support this function" or something similar...

how well GPS works in offline mode for the iPhone 6 plus. I have an iPad Air and GPS works perfectly in offline mode for all map applications (e.g. Apple maps, Google maps). The prerequisite is obviously to cache or download the map area prior to usage. The iPad Air picks up the GPS signal very fast and it works like a charm! I mostly use that for offline navigation abroad. Does this kind of offline GPS functionality work equally well and fast on the iPhone 6 plus? Â

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia N97, happily using Ovi Maps and recieved a text stating newer, better more efficient version now available, so I updated through the software updater, and now it WILL NOT NAVIGATE. I use mine in offline mode, so it uses GPS only, and it finds me, and my current lcoation very quickly, but then when you add a route it just locks onto "Waiting for GPS" with a map image of my destination address, and no matter where I am location wise the GPS navigation NEVER starts. A family member has an N97 also, from another network provider, and exactly the fault has appeared on there N97 since upgrading to the newer maps program. Also on both phones the satnav GPS signal strength indicator has been removed from the screen on newer ovimaps so you cannot even see what is happening.
