Mar 15, 2010I've just bought a Nokia 5800 handset recently. It seems to me that even though I actually saved a contact's number in my phone, when he messages me the phone inbox only shows his number and not his name, even though I already saved his number under my phonebook.
Is there anyway to solve this such that it'll display his name instead? Its kind of pointless if I have to keep checking back to my phonebook to see who has messaged me, since I don't remember my friend's numbers and stuff.
On a note I saved all of my friend's number without the region number. That is as im living in Singapore, a contact's number would be saved as follows: 91234567 without the region code of +65. Thing is in my inbox all the phone number displayed shows the region code of +65 along with the number, but seriously even my super old phone can recognise that both 91234567 and +6591234567 are of the same person and displays the name correctly in the inbox.
BB Bold 9700 :: Emails To Messages Inbox Rather In Gmail Inbox?
Jan 5, 2010So I set up my gmail account via the BIS or whatever plug-in, and all seems to be working ok. The problem is that the emails go straight to my general "Messages" inbox, but nothing shows up in my Gmail account inbox when i click on that specific icon. I do have SMS/MMS broken out into a separate inbox, but i'd like to use the gmail inbox where it threads messages with the same topic instead of the general messages inbox.tried resending service books.

Mar 18, 2010I don't know why this happened, I woke up this morning and it was like this. Whenever I try to open my email inbox the SMS inbox opens. Even if I go directly to my individual accounts on my BB (yahoo and gmail) and try to open them directly, it still opens my SMS inbox. I can't figure this out and can't find an answer. I have to check all my emails my going onto a computer. I still get notifications of new emails on my BB, but can't view them because only the SMS inbox will come up. I need my email inbox to show when I click on my email inbox.

Sep 20, 2011I've had a BB for just about ever now - but I've never seen this before. I just added a new email acct to my phone and whenever I send messages (with just that account) I get a copy in my inbox as an unread message. The email goes through to the recipient and everything, but whenever I send from this account, I get a copy. Any idea why this could be happening? I've done resets, test emails and everything, nothing has seemed to work.I have a VZW BB Curve 3G 9330.I'm on BB OS 6.It's the third email account on my phone.I have done a soft reset a couple times already.

This was working fine only for few hours yesterday and then the incoming emails just stopped. Jan 20, 2012I used to be able to press the blackberry button (think thats what its called) when in my inbox and get various options including mark as unread (as well as forward, reply to all, etc). I now seem to be able to only do from this from in the email itself as if I am in my in box and press the button I need to hold it down and then I get a shortcut menu appearing. Have I accidently created this or has blackberry changed this as I recently upgraded one of their apps (though thought it was messenger)?

Jun 8, 2010When I sent emails, the sent mails show up in my BB 8900 "inbox". So, if I send an email to myself, both the mail (received) and the sent mail show up in the handheld "inbox". I could not find a set up option so that the send mail will not be listed in the inbox. Any idea? Thanks.

The delete works fine.

I used the search option to search for Twitter messages so I could delete them. Deleting the messages took several tries, which surprised me. Device software version 4 had no problems with this process. Anyway, my SMS and MMS Inbox now appears to be empty. I have to perform a search to see my new SMS/MMS messages.
I had already backed up my device and restored my SMS/MMS inbox from that backup file, but it will not show all current traffic, just items I have sent. I have to do a search to see any current stuff. What do I need to do to rebuild my SMS inbox so I can see all of my messages again? Doing a search every time I get a new SMS takes too much time.

Aug 9, 2010My SMS inbox doesnt show new messages and also my Curve 8900 doesnt prompt for any new messages. However, the Mobiso application (which logs calls, texts) shows messages coming in with its text lengths. I asked this to Blackberryhelp on Twitter but it said to contact service provider, but there is nothing wrong with it. The format of the SMS inbox should have something wrong otherwise the Mobiso application should not have logged all messages.

May 18, 2010I'm about to switch over to the 8530 and I was just wondering how long you can keep sms/mms texts in your inbox until it becomes "full" and no longer accepts incoming texts (or if that even happens). I had a voyager way before my BBs and I remember when my texts would start getting around 100, it would prompt me with a message saying "Inbox is 80% full. Delete messages..." And I don't know how this works for the bb. And because of the 5.0 threaded sms software, I'll feel prompted to keep the texts longer instead of deleting them every night because it'll be threaded, not messy...
My other question is, (obviously I haven't used my 8530 yet), When you get a text, does that thread move to the top of the inbox or do you have to scroll through and look through all of the people in your inbox to see which one is new? How is the set-up/how does it work.

1. I double checked the Web Desktop Manager to ensure that the redirection was turned on.
2. Enabled folder redirection on the handheld and SELECTED ALL subfolders.
a. I read that the messages would have to be moved to another folder, then readded for the sync to catch, so I did...
3. Gave it 1/2 hour and it still didn't work...
