BB Curve :: Automatic Update To Central Zone?
Sep 22, 2011I live in the Eastern Time Zone and every now and then my phone displays a message that my phone will be updated to central time zone. Why is that?
View 3 RepliesI live in the Eastern Time Zone and every now and then my phone displays a message that my phone will be updated to central time zone. Why is that?
View 3 RepliesSuddenly, the phone's clock started showing a time that was offset by two hours for my local time.
I deselected automatic time zone and auto date/time and set them manually. If I return it to automatic, it will show my precise location but the timezone and local time would be offset by two hours (earlier, not later).
Currently, I have auto date/time and selected my time zone automatically. It shows the right date and time but the screen showing my current position still shows the clock two hours behind.
I have an S5 and haven't had any issues with it until now. I was in Puerto Rico recently and saw that my display clocks on my home screen and the task bar above were not syncing. The home screen clock displayed the correct time for the time zone, the task bar clock displayed the time in my home time zone. This never happened before and I travel a lot throughout the continental US.
Also when I wanted to set my alarm to wake me up, I had to set it according to my home time zone. That's a lot of math for someone to do while on vacation.
I live in South Africa. I do not find a South African time zone in the list. If I use another city in the +2-hour time zone, my clock time is 1 hour fast. Does it matter to the other applications if a different time zone is selected? Can one perhaps download an augmented time zone list?
View 7 Replies View RelatedAs of Monday, we noticed all our BB fleet's times were an hour ahead.[URL]... as per the link from Telstra's web site.I uploaded the required time zone update as per the instructions, confirmed it is resident in the Blackberry but am still an hour over.
Checking the time info on the BB, it shows the Network time is correct but the device time is still one hour out.As I have not been able to find anywhere in the KB article that it is for Western Australia, I am guessing this DST patch was NOT applicable for ourselves. Is there another patch I need to try to allow the BB's to work?
I would like to know if there is a way to avoid calendar appointment times changing when the time zone automatically updates. I would book theatre tickets in New York at 8pm and put that in my calendar. When my BB Curve updates the time to New York time from South African time, all my appointments also change by the 7 hour difference.
Is there a way of keeping the calendar entries at the entered time when the phone updates it's time zone. This also happens when updating the time manually on the phone.
The time zone changes from Eastern Time to 8 hours earlier after I sync using BB desktop software.
View 1 Replies View Relatedeverytime I synch my Curve 9360 with my desktop software, the Time Zone changes from GMT to Eniwetok (which is minus 12 hours) automatically. I had this problem with my old 9700 since the issues a few weeks back, and hoped the upgrade would change the problem - not so.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Blackberry 9300 Curve. When I sync my BB using desktop manager the time zone re-sets itself from GMT Dublin London time to Eniwetok-12 gmt ( I don't even know were Eniwetok is) . Here's some of the settings and systems information. On the Blackberry under Date and Time the update time is set to automatic, time zone- 12 hour-auto update. On the Desktop Software I have all the default settings to standard 2 way sync default with Microsoft Outlook 2007. The time zone on my computer is GMT London Dublin. I am running on Windows 7 - 64 bit.
View 1 Replies View RelatedEver since I updated my desktop software to 6.0, when I back up my device, it changes my time zone to Eniwetok (I am in Eastern Time Zone). My computer is set on Eastern Time Zone, and the time zone does not change in Outlook when I sync, just on my device.I even have Auto Update Time Zone on my device turned off, but it still changes my time zone. Why is it doing this, and how can I stop it?

View 9 Replies View Relatedhow the automatic time update function works on the Nokia 701 and the like? Mine is enabled and seems to update when my phone connects to a data source (e.g. when retrieving email or when browsing websites) but the time retrieved seems to be about two minutes slow. Where does the phone get it's time signal from? Is this a network thing (i.e. it is Orange that is running slow) or does it obtain the time from a Nokia server?
Finally can I change the server it obtains the time from?
For the past week or so I've been trying to configure the BeWeather app. I've tried numerous times and downloaded the most updated free version of the app. The problem is I go to preferences and set the update time to "every hour" but it never automatically updates the forecast. Does anyone know how I can sort it out? Do I need to buy the full version?
View 6 Replies View Related80-90% of the time when I am using the Desktop Manager software, I use it to make an internet connection. When I connect my phone to the pc, the software searches for application updates with a window that pops up. Since I do not have an internet connection yet, this is quite pointless. There is a cancel button, but even when pressed it still will take upwords of 30sec-1min before the window goes away, and I can make my internet connection. Is there some way to make the software not search for updates? I am using version 5.0.1 on both winXP pro, and win7 pro.
View 6 Replies View RelatedHas anybody's S2 been running some sort of update today. Since 9:30 Pacific I noticed my phone is doing some sort of communication. I tried to Google Sync and it told me it was unable while the BB was updating. It didn't say what it was doing though. Anyway, the communication arrow over the status bar has been pointing away all day today. So much so that my battery as gone from 80% to 30% with minimal use on my part. I turned it off once (power off icon) and back on and the arrow resumed.I do not know of any way to check what the device is doing, but thought I would check with you all to find out if you notice it too. Something from RIM possibly?
View 6 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how I can stop my Satio losing time, after a few days the time is always wrong, had a k800i and never had a problem with that, cant set the automatic time update on either because this then sets the time around 5 1/2 hours later than the actual time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had a nokia 5800 for about 6 or 7 months now. when I got the phone I turned on the automatic time update and it kept time really well. Then it got to about november last year and suddenly it jumped ahead 1 hour. Now every morning I have to turn on auto update (since the phone wont keep time without it), let the time update, change the time back one hour and tell it I havn't changed time zones. I live in Perth Western Australia and we dont use daylight savings so I dont know what is going on with it.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a new Sony Xperia Play & I love the phone minus a few things and one of them is the screen brightness, I just updated to the latest OS and It is very annoying when the screen is so dark until you hold it up to the light and then it is bright again, This was to be the replacement of my X10 and if I could get the screen brightness issue fixed I would be a happy camper. I searched and see there is only one fix for it right now and that is to root your phone and apply the fix but I do not want to attempt to do that quite yet. If anyone has heard if Sony plans on fixing this or if there is another way around it please let me know for I am still looking at the new Samsung Galaxy II Infuse 4G which was my other option other than the Play.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSince updating to Jelly Bean, the automatic brightness feature is downright terrible. It makes using my phone on a daily basis extremely frustrating. It is too aggressive when switching between bright / dim modes, and tends to make the brightness "flicker." I also wish the phone didn't bump the screen brightness up / down rapidly. Why can't it gently fade it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedSince the last automatic Droid Razr update a few weeks ago it is very complicated to mark all unread emails as read! It was easy to do before but after this update it seems not to work! If go to my main email account I can sort the email by date, unread, or other options. I select by unread. I then press the menu key and select "select all". Then some iconw appear in the bottom: a trash, a mail, and a flag. I select the mail one and it opens up and the word "mark read" appears but the messages don't clear as read. It used to work without issues before the update.
