For the past week or so I've been trying to configure the BeWeather app. I've tried numerous times and downloaded the most updated free version of the app. The problem is I go to preferences and set the update time to "every hour" but it never automatically updates the forecast. Does anyone know how I can sort it out? Do I need to buy the full version?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have my new blackberry 9700 and i updated to 5.0.0.714 Os at the moment i stars using, i restore my contacts using the wireless restore, it seen to be ok, i have all my contacts that i have on the old 9000 but when i go to sleep and i wake up some contacts are erase, when i talk to a contact the screen tell me to invite againt or erase them, but i never erase the contact from my list and the other persont neither erase me (its my best friend) always i need to re invite, it works al the day but at 2:30 AM to 3:00 AM the contact say to be erase. i erase the bbm reinstall, deactive the wireless backup, reinstall the bbm and just add this 1 contact, erase the phone, reinstall the OS. i dont know what to do now pls help me, i thing that the problem is on the blackberry servers that can not acept the contact and erase me over the air.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've just upgraded my Blackberry 9700 to firmware 5.0.0.593. I noticed the Auto Standby 2.4.1 utility that locks the keyboard after 30 seconds doesn't function anymore. An automatic keyboard lock is a very basic functionality for every phone and it would be good if it can be reinstated in a future firmware release. I'm now using Ultimate Lock but this can't be activated by the top-left lock button. I'm also a fan of the Bedside mode as it prevents the LED from blinking at night and switches profiles automatically when you put it in the charging pod. Is there a way to prevent the clock from being displayed while the phone is charging in bedside mode? I've already set "Dim Screen" to Yes but it still lights up the room.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the beweather free app today and it seems to work great and all but the home screen icon doesnt show the updated temperature after i refresh my beweather free... the weird thing is that it shows the updated temperature when the icon is part of the full menu of icons when pressing the menu button to see all the icons but it is not updated when looking at the home screen layout with just one row of icons if u know what im saying.

I purchased a second hand BlackBerry Bold 9700, i wanted to upgrade the software to OS 6. I downloaded the Required Software (OS 6) from T-Mobile UK "Provider" and installed it on my pc, then i opened the Blackberry Desktop Software, "It Should Show that there is a new update for the phone software". but the problem that i am suffering from it gives me a messege that there is no software available. the current device software is App Version : 5.0.0.344 (541), and what i downloaded from the provider (T-Mobile UK) is App Version 6.0.0.570. I alsow Tried to download from many providers like AT&T, SK-Telecom, T-Mobile UK. i tried removing them all from my pc and instaling them one by one, but still no progress. i followed all the instructions on how to remove the file named "Vendor" from the path (C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesResearch In MotionAppLoader). if i removed this file it should show me that there is an update, but still no hope i gives the same messege that there is not software update available.
i tried another methode by using a software called BBsak. And it askes me to set a password then i Wiped the device the phone screen turns white like a system error, i go back to (C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesResearch In MotionAppLoader) to the file "Loader" and execute it, it show that every thing is fine and the software is being installed is 5.0.0.344 (541) even though i was installing (6.0.0.570 T-Mobile UK).

To update I hook up my Blackberry to my PC and go to the update page on the Blackberry website. I click on the check for updates button on the website. It searches for about 30 seconds and says that I have no updates available. I really want this update so why it says I don't have updates when I am not up to date.

Mine is enabled and seems to update when my phone connects to a data source (e.g. when retrieving email or when browsing websites) but the time retrieved seems to be about two minutes slow. Where does the phone get it's time signal from? Is this a network thing (i.e. it is Orange that is running slow) or does it obtain the time from a Nokia server?
Finally can I change the server it obtains the time from?
80-90% of the time when I am using the Desktop Manager software, I use it to make an internet connection. When I connect my phone to the pc, the software searches for application updates with a window that pops up. Since I do not have an internet connection yet, this is quite pointless. There is a cancel button, but even when pressed it still will take upwords of 30sec-1min before the window goes away, and I can make my internet connection. Is there some way to make the software not search for updates? I am using version 5.0.1 on both winXP pro, and win7 pro.

View 14 Replies View Relatedwhile i was hoping for the new os software .586 to be available through OTA i didnt mind using the comp & dm as well. It was actually pretty easy just plug and play & follow directions sorta thing, and it only took less than 30mins. So far id say the new software is ok, it seems a bit faster & for most people i say the 3G is good but i guess it depends where your at.
Now for the few things that are annoying me haha... If there is a way or option to fix these please help.
1. There is no more Standby Mode (top right button/mute button)? People are saying the Lock button (top left) is also now the new standymode. So this a 2 in 1 sort of thing? Now what can i do with my top right button? id like to use it for something...
2. Ok this is really annoying me. Whats the point of having a password when it doesnt work when you Lock the phone? like the above for example, i lock the phone & it directly goes to a black screen (standby mode?) and if i want to unlock it the following says: keypad is locked. press the lock button to unlock seriously annoying, now anyone can get into my phone. The weird thing is that if you lock it, black screen shows, then wait a few mins and the password feature is now working. Basically this password feature should be working right away once we lock it...
3. This is a litte bit annoying or maybe its just one of those things i gotta get used to if there isnt an option to fix it. But another thing i noticed is that when someone is calling my phone it now shows their number as well w/ the name. I liked it when it just showed the name, no need to show the number with it...
4. The app "my account" for t-mobile which lets you check your minutes, check your bill, update stuff, etc is no longer working? its been down even when i had the previous software .330 Whats up with that?! its a very usefull/helpfull app & hopefully it will start working again.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have update several Bold 9700 with the OS6 but now i have a device which i'm not able to update. I have searched the forum but haven't found any similar update issues.
The current settings are:
Model: Bold 9700 (PRD-23593-016)
OS 5.0.0.862 (bundle 1446 - platform 5.1.0.175)
Whaf i have tried is the following.
- I donwloaded the new OS from my service provider on the blackberry website.
- Installed the software on my laptop and two other laptops.
- I already had the latest version of the desktop software, but reinstalled it anyway.
- i started the blackberry desktop software, connected the 9700, no update available.
- tried it via apploader no OS update available
- Removed vendor.xml and tried again, no update available.
- complete security wipe including applications, tried again, no update available.
I tried all above on 3 different laptops all gave the same result.I will now try to downgrade the OS to an earlier OS 5 version and then try to update to OS 6 again.
I am attempting to update the OS on my BB Bold 9700, as suggested by the BB Deskyop Sofware. The update started and seemed to be progressing but about 3/4 of the way through it is frozen at "Loading module"net_rim_speech_data_en_US.cod".
What should I do? The system warns "do not disconnect your device or stop this process as it could make your device unusable"
Later: I solved this problem by disconnecting the phone from the PC and downloading the OS6 package from the Blackberry.com/Downloads site, re-installing the Blackberry Deskop Sofware and re-starting the update process, this time with all power saving on the PC turned off.
When will be available the update to os6 for Proximus (Belgium) users on blackberry 9700? There's only the os5 available on the blackberry's website.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHas anybody's S2 been running some sort of update today. Since 9:30 Pacific I noticed my phone is doing some sort of communication. I tried to Google Sync and it told me it was unable while the BB was updating. It didn't say what it was doing though. Anyway, the communication arrow over the status bar has been pointing away all day today. So much so that my battery as gone from 80% to 30% with minimal use on my part. I turned it off once (power off icon) and back on and the arrow resumed.I do not know of any way to check what the device is doing, but thought I would check with you all to find out if you notice it too. Something from RIM possibly?

When i look it says the the prefered version is the lower one. Is there any way of removing this box? I read in a thread that you can delete the version from your PC but i dont know what or where to look.
