Noticed at the end of a charging cycle from fully discharged state, that my Blackberry Curve 8520 was displaying"App Err 523ESET"n a white screen. The BB has now become unusable since it has remained in this error state inspite of various resolutions tried as below. ave already tried the following1. Tried hard Reset by removing and putting back the battery. After the usual booting delay of about 2 mins, the BB displayed "Blackberry" on the screen and which was followed by the dreaded white screen again with the above error.. Tried Soft Reset by pressing "alt" kay, "shft" kay on right & "del" key simultaneouly. The BB reboots, but at the end of it, displays the same 'App Err 523' as in 1 above.
3. Tried updating the OS from Blackberry Desktop Manager Ver 6 (?) .....
a) physically connected the BB with USB cable to Laptop ( Windows 7 ) while BB sreen showed the above error.b) Desktop Manager pops up a window displaying 'not able to communicate with the device' and prompts o 'Retry' OR 'Update' OR 'Cancel'.) Clicking on 'Retry' does not help. The same message window pops up again.d) Clicking on 'Update' pops up a window stating 'Checking for available Updates' but goes in indefinite Wait State. While in this state, triggered Soft Reset ( as in 2 above), causing a Reboot. While rebooting, communication with between Desktop and the BB takes place and a new window pops up displaying " No updates available at present" and asks to provide email id "for receiving updates when available".
e) Also tried to boot the BB in Safe Mode by hard booting ( with battery removal & putting back) and by keeping ESCAPE key pressed. The BB Did not boot in Safe Mode, but at the end of the booting cycle, displayed the same 'App Err 523' as in 1 above. ( this also dispells the popular notion that a BB goes into this "App Err 523" state because of some third party applications, since any third party applications are supposed to be bypassed when booting is done by keeping ESCAPE key pressed.

I am using the blackberry curve 8520 model. however while using the bbm yesterday my phone kept getting stuck . i tried to switch off and start the phone a couple of times but everytime i opened the bbm application, my phone got stuck. now the bbm application is not available too.
There is about 50 mb of "others" in my application storage. I do not know where those are coming from. How to get rid of these so I can maximize my phone memory?
My charge only lasts 8-10 hours. Obviously, something is running in the background. What's the best way to shut down an application?Do I hit the END key (red button) or use the back-space buttone to return to the main (desktop) screen?
i own a blackberry 8520 curve and i keep having the same problem with logging in into yahoo messenger.while i can log in from a PC or another phone, logging in from this phone seems impossible, regardless the account i try logging in with. after it displays the ''connecting to" message it pops this: "'internal error. please try again''.i tried reintroducing the internet connection settings; i reinstalled the application, i've put another SIM card into this phone and i've removed all the entries from my yahoo account's apps and website connections list - and it keeps popping the error message i hope receiving an answer, 'cause it's been 4 days without getting to use the app.
i have a blackberry curve 8520. how to use my memory card in all the application that im downloading.because everytime i download application in app world it goes to my phone memory. now my phone memory is low...
Anytime i miss a call, the missed call log takes over my messages application (even though i did not enable call logs to be displayed in my messages application). So when i open my message or email application i will not see my emails but my missed call logs will be displayed there until i do a hard reset.

I am not sure what the correct name is for what I am describing but this is the easiest I can explain. When you receive a SMS/EMAIL/BBM etc. you receive a notification at the top of your screen. Today I received a notification that looks like it is related to the internet browser. I went to the internet and could not find a message there. I went to my app world and installed all the upgrades available but still the message appeared. How do I determine to which application or program the message is related to and how do I remove the notification?
I am using an ad-supported application called BatteryWatch (1.9.7) and everything used to be fine. Now, however, everytime I open it I get the request "BatteryWatch is requesting changes to its application control permissions." No matter how I change the permissions, this message ALWAYS appears.
The strange thing is that it didn't use to happen before. Since the time that it was working I have updated the application, updated Blackberry App World and I think the company might have moved onto BES/BIS(?).
I have a problem that's been bugging me for the past 3 weeks. I have been searching for the way to solve this error with my Berry on the net but to no avail. I bought an app at the BB App World a few weeks ago but I cant open the application. When I try to open it, I got screen message saying - Uncaught exception: Source y offset must be greater than 0. I tried reinstalling the app, battery pulls and even emailing the customer service team who made the app but still no answer from them. I have no problems whatsoever if its a free app but I actually bought the app for USD 2.00. Its not much but its still money.
The details of my Berry are as follows:
Model: 9360 Carrier: Celcom OS: 7.1 Bundle 1647
The details of the app that I downloaded:
App name: Islamic Prayer Times By: Parachute Mobile Version: 1.5
when i get connected through WiFi , the only app working is the browser and the reset of the applications not working , and after restarting the blackberry phone every thing working fine for just 24 hours then it come back down again and i need to restart again
ive got a question regarding the facebook application on my blackberry.apparently downloading the application is free but what about actually using the application. do i have to pay for that or is it free aswell? furthermore, what about when im in a foreign country?
I wanted to find out how I could increase the application memory on my 8900 as much as possible. Right now it only reads about 109 out of the 256 MB. I've tried deleting some of the unused apps and such but even when I do that it only makes about a 1 MB difference.
The Application Memory in my Options>Memory keeps on decresin as I use the phone. (I didn't download/removed/upgraded any apps). Like I have around 112 mb of free application memory when my phone starts up after a battery pull, and after using it for like 6-8 hrs. the Free space in application memory went down to 72.3 mb :S .This is making my phone real slow. Also, when I restart (battery pull) my phone, the memory goes back up to original 112 mb bt then all f this thing happns all over again. Someone on my prev. thread replied that it was a case of "Memory Leak", and I must wipe my handset to get rid of it. I wiped it, Installed new OS (5.0.0.681) and the problem is still there.
